Looking at the original article that Rusty posted it seemed this could be the same perp ~ thankfully it wasn't true but nonetheless there should be charges for filing a false report.

I am more than nervous. LE has the help of the F.B.I. and 2500 leads and there hasn't even been an arrest. The information that the public has is ridiculous. If the killer isn't your SO and you never owned a pair of PP underwear, you get to sit and wait and hope that LE is doing their job. Are they doing their job? Don't know that either. I try not to be too pessimistic on this forum, but truth be told, when I see a R.P.D. car waiting behind the sagebrush on 395 to catch a commuter going to work a little too fast, I can't help but thinking," Excuse me sir, is there something a little more worthwhile you could be doing? If you're going to just sit somewhere and eat a doughnut, might I suggest one of the many parking spots near the University?"

I think a lot of people are getting frustrated with this case. I also agree that the public has very, very little to work with in terms of helping identify this scum. We're angry that he continues to walk around feeling like a big man because he was able to dominate a 98 lb. woman in her sleep. We're angry that LE hasn't been able to get him and we have no idea if they are even close. We can't assume they are doing a good job because we've seen LE do shoddy jobs more than once. However, we also don't know that they can give us any further information without jeopardizing their case, we don't know if they have anything much at all and we don't know that the cop eating a donut on 395 might not be there for the very purpose of finding this . As much as we, and probably LE, would like to devote all our resources to finding this killer that just isn't realistic. Life goes on and LE has to continue to pay attention to other responsibilities. The traffic cop might nap a drunk driver and save a family's life. Believe me, I am biting at the bit to have this killer pay his dues and I'm really, really PO'ed that he hasn't been caught. As hard as it might be right now we are just going to have to wait it out and pray that someone, somewhere has the guts to come forward and help ID this guy. I really believe someone knows him and has an idea what he is capable of...JMHO.

It is frustrating that the perp hasn't been caught. I'm sure it's frustrating for Bri's family and friends, the UNR campus and Reno as a whole, not to mention the police.

But I remember they were quoted saying a few weeks ago that even if it takes "years," they will find him. And I think they will. It just might not be as quickly and neatly as everyone wishes.

The cop sitting behind the bush on 395 is with the Nevada Highway Patrol. Totally different LE agency - they are supposed to patrol the highways & freeways. Reno Police Dept and Washoe Sherriff's dept. will the this kind of investigation. (Please someone correct me if I am wrong)

Do you remember last year when the suspect in a murder from Oregon went out over the radio and the NHP spotted the car on 395 and made an arrest??

Last week I was reading the reader comments attached to one of the stories about the DNA backlog being resolved and the DNA of the suspect not being in the results.

A reader posted a tip - hope he/she also phoned that tip into the police. The tip was about a young man that had done time as a teen (18 or 19) for molesting young girls. The man had a fetish about keeping girls underwear - the reader/poster said something about burying the underwear in his backyard. The poster gave a name and said the man would now be in his early 30's.

The RGJ has gone to a new format, and apparently the reader comments for some articles have been deleted. I wrote the man's name down on a slip of paper and will look for it. At the time I saw the post, I did a quick search and the young man is now 33 years old and has an address history of Reno, Las Vegas, and another city near Reno. There were numerous addresses in Reno.

This was just a hypothetical scenario I used. I do know the difference between city,county and state. I was just trying to state how impatient I am with this whole thing. I agree with most all of you on everything. I didn't realize how much this is really getting to me until right before the "pink UW press release. I thought that they were going to announce an arrest that day, and there was a huge weight that was lifted off me 'cause I thought that it was over. I can't even imagine what Briannas mom is going through. Like the rest of you, I don't want this to win his twisted game and I don't like the fact that I can't at least help in some way.

So, he used nair or gets a bikini wax. Maybe someone helps him with that? I'm glad they got a better description out to the public. The height seems taller than originally reported though. There's a big difference between 5'7'' and 6'3''. It's too bad there's not more to report about the vehicle at this time.

If you are asking about my post above, that was about the Dateline program tonight on Brianna's case. It was good, probably not a lot new for most but I haven't been following this thread closely of late so there were some details that were new to me. Also the interviews with friends and family gave me a different sense of who she was than I had imagined.

I watched Dateline with my husband who is in law enforcement. I said I was still disturbed about the ride home the friend took that night. Even though that guy has been cleared, it just is too much of a coincidence for me. I don't believe in coincidences. My husband said LE should be checking out this guy's friends. Could be the link. I wonder if they're doing that, no way of knowing. Had this been discussed before. I wonder if any locals know more about this guy.

Soobs, I feel the same way you do about the guy who gave Bri's friend a ride home that night. I know he has been cleared, but like your husband said, LE should check out his friends. And maybe check him out a little closer too.

I didn't get to see the beginning of Dateline last night, but from what I seen, it looks like the report was good.

The height disparity seems like the victim can't accurately judge height, but from the rest of the description I still think it's possible he works outdoors, maybe in construction.

But there are two other confirmed assaults this perp was linked to so I'm not sure the guy who gave Jessica a ride home is involved.

Does anyone know if the Perp's DNA has been checked against the National Database? I would think that would be done pretty fast, but considering what it took to test it against just Nevada's database, who knows.

I found the body of the entire Dateline NBC story from Friday posted on another site. It is very long, but if those who didn't see it want me to post it in the media section, I will. I could not find a link.

But, I thought this part was relevant regarding when Bri was killed:

Investigators believe Brianna’s body had been lying in the field for at least a week.
Bridgette says police told her they believe Brianna was not abducted, at least not alive. They think she was killed inside the house at 1395 Mackay Court.

Bridgette Denison: They think that he strangled her right then and there. And it was a matter of seconds. And that's all I know. I didn't want any more details.

I don't know about you guys, but I had no idea that Brianna, KT and Jessica had been on at SWAT and slept at the Mackay Court house the night before Bri vanished. In this case, she most certainly could have been watched/stalked....remember, the perp tried to break into the December victim's house right near there that same night.

On Friday, Jan. 18, Brianna went to KT's house just off the campus of the University of Nevada-Reno, where KT goes to college.
Among the young women at the house getting ready for a night on the town was another University of Nevada-Reno student -- Jessica Deal.

Jessica Deal: We're doing our makeup, getting ready for a fun night. We all went over for the kickoff party and dancing. And it was just a great night. … And we made it back to KT’s house perfectly fine. All three girls crammed in KT’s queen-sized bed, and it was very uncomfortable. But we made it, and we made it home.
