British Bella May Culley 18, missing from Thailand, arrested in Georgia, May 2025

Can I just say I'm so glad someone was brave enough to ask "which Georgia?" My niece lives in Cleveland Georgia US and I was VERY confused for a moment as to how this young lady went from Thailand to GA so quickly!! LOL!
I know her parents are so grateful she's not lost or worse, but I would be so mad as a mom! Did she think about consequences at all?

I'm being very judgemental, but Mom appears to be very much in synch with her social media, such as posing in similar outfits and some very photoshopped images.

Mom cannot be blind to the drug and sex stuff on her 18 year olds social media posts.

I was having those thoughts, too. I was not really thinking that the former Soviet country of Georgia even had plane flights to Thailand.

Teesside University offers a wide range of nursing-related degree courses so presumably she could have studied there and continued living at home.

My impression so far is that she would only qualify as some sort of care assistant, but not a truly registered or licensed nurse training. At this point, it's unlikely she will ever be able to be in any course that deals with distribution of medications. (At least I hope she would be disqualified).

That is what I thought too. A care assistant or nursery nurse.

Snipped: The nursing student, who has been preliminarily detained for two months as investigations continue, is currently 'terrified and confused', according to the lawyer
2 months?
This 18yr old had way to much freedom, way to much $ to do what she wanted and hooked up with really bad guys. They took advantage of her but I don't think she is dumb enough to NOT know what she was doing. IMO

IMO, someone is lying. The mom said ( first post on this thread) she last heard from her on 5/3. We're talking 11 days, the above article says 2 months Who's watching who?
That's how long they are keeping her after her arrest a week ago while charges are pending etc. It doesn't mean she's already been kept for 2 months.

She was still posting on social media in early May.

Meanwhile, mystery surrounded a string of company directorships Bella appeared to hold, despite being described as a "normal student" and family and friends having no idea about them.

Records showed apparent links to the Far East - with Bella listed as the director of at least two companies with Chinese ties

She is allegedly also pregnant

Frankly, I suspect that if this was a white male, there would also be a lot less interest in the case, so race isn't really a factor here in the way that the media is covering it. What is driving the media interest is that the person involved is a fairly attractive, blondish young female with a penchant for plastering the internet with half naked photos of herself.
Also this started as a missing persons case - that’s what first got it media attention.

Media attention for the person charged is often not a good thing in these drug smuggling cases - it often leads to a tougher sentence as they want it to be seen as a deterrent

A very good find by The Sun. She is shown as a director of two companies -

M Culley Window Repairs Ltd, incorporated on 31 March 2025, she being the only director. Registered office address at a residential address in Billingham.

See: M CULLEY WINDOW REPAIRS LTD overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK

Lujamen Limited, incorporated on 24 September 2024 with a registered office address in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was incorporated by a Chinese national and she was appointed a director on the same date.

See: LUJAMEN LIMITED overview - Find and update company information - GOV.UK

The same Chinese national seems to have incorporated 4 companies in the UK in the past year or so, each with a sole director. His claimed address appears to be fictitious.

What has she got herself mixed up with?! At 18 years old.

..probably spotted because I and a few others spotted them a few days ago and were posting links on reddit and the D.Mail comment sites.
I do like the description of one of the company's business sector "Agents specialised in the sale of other particular products"
That's epic!

There are two entries for Bella on the Companies House website under her name as Companies House seemingly did not associate the two entries for her as being one person: which is sadly common when a person registers a company at one address and then another at another address and when an agent is being used to register them.
Folowing a change to UK Company Law, Companies House is seriously tightening up on ID requirements when forming and indeed running companies so this sort of multiple entry thing will stop - as will the blantantly fake companies using fake addresses and the rest. All current directors etc will be required over the next year to provide full personal and address ID and verification.

Do we want a further twist in the story?

Teenage British 'drugs mule' currently locked up in an ex-Soviet jail for 'smuggling 30lbs of cannabis' is the great-granddaughter of a late Labour MP

A British student accused of smuggling 30lbs of cannabis into Georgia is the great-granddaughter of a late Labour MP who was caught up in the expenses scandal, MailOnline can reveal.

She is the descendant of former Stockton North MP of 27 years Frank Cook, who died in 2012 aged 76 a year after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

The veteran backbencher was at the centre of the expenses scandal row in 2009 when it emerged he had claimed for £153,902 - including for a £5 donation made by an aide representing him at a Battle of Britain service.

Good spot to you and others, then.

Indeed. It's difficult to know whether her appointment is genuine (eg she might have been planning to set up as a drop-shipper of cheap Chinese tat in the UK) or whether she knew nothing about it. We do, however, at least know that she is a genuine person rather than a fictitious creation.

Yes, I'm very aware of the changes which have been and should be introduced by the ECCTA 2023. Some of its measures, as you say, were introduced last year but unfortunately the change of government last summer has introduced a great deal of uncertainty about the timetable for the introduction of its many other measures. In any event it will take time for the Registrar to work through all the problems on the register.
