Very, very well said. Thank You, Spice. Exactly what I believe also.

I sat in on a family discussion where an adult son tried to tell his complicit mother how he still felt about the horrible
childhood abuse he had endured growing up. All the elderly mother would say was "You're Crazy, you're crazy."
Whenever I see this type strong denial despite information coming from authorities, I have to believe there was some
similar type abuse going on in the family of origin.

This happens ALL of the time and I agree. It is what perpetuates dysfunction/abuse/neglect for generations. This is also why I have always been so conflicted about Kinship Foster care. Sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't due to neglect and abuse being so intergenerational and you are forced to watch the same themes over and over again. It's so complex.

I would love to do a genogram on LT and DT. Now THAT would reveal so much about all of this.

Abuse does not happen in a vacuum and neither does trauma.

I am counting on the resilience of these survivors. The resilience of trauma survivors always astounds me. It's a beautiful thing to see.

Have you ever read the literature about the concept of "The Resilient Child" in human behavior?

This 17 year old survivor is going to be in line with all that we now about The Resilient Child. I suspect she may have been the one to attempt to escape back in Texas...and was returned. She somehow was able to overcome all of that learned helplessness. She is truly heroic. I am in awe of her.

Krispy Kreme rules!

Do you have a link to that? I don't remember reading he didn't want to get involved because he knew David had a gun. Guns in Texas are very common.

‘Vinyard said he and his wife considered reporting the couple to Rio Vista authorities. But he had reservations because he had grown up in the town of fewer than a thousand people, at the end of a county road surrounded by pastures, miles from the sheriff’s office.

A deputy was called to the Turpin house in 2001 when a child was bitten by a dog, and Vinyard’s uncle called the sheriff when the couple’s three pigs got loose in 2002. But Vinyard and his wife decided not to alert authorities about suspected abuse.

“We discussed it and we didn’t want to have the repercussions with them,” Vinyard said, especially since Turpin was armed.’

Very curious regarding what is in those 2 safes. What were they protecting from the squalor???? Definitely not the children.

Firearms? Someone reported that he'd shoot cans in his driveway.

This reminded me of a special I recently watched.
I recently watched the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan special that showed the Mother of Tonya in an interview clip where Tonya claimed her mother beat her and you could tell the Mother was trying to deny the extent of it but the Mother did admit to some of it right on the interview.

It was scary and upsetting to see the mother was still mean and I would not trust her around any small children.

I don't think any of us can even contemplate the bravery this girl has shown, to go against those monsters and expose this vile abuse must've taken real courage, she will have had the most terrifying fear that she wouldn't be believed and taken back to them to suffer the worst punishment ever. Even now they'll all be feeling emotions of fear loathing and also misplaced guilt, they've been conditioned in a way we couldn't even imagine, and that's what it is, conditioning, remove everything normal, don't let them see it or have any knowledge of it and then they're less likely to know this horror of a life is not acceptable.

Just saw another photo w/ LT having bruises on upper arm like she was grabbed hard with force. It's on Daily Mail,
she's dressed like Snow White and has new baby also dressed up. Can anyone find this and post?

Nisey, both DT and LT have public defenders provided by court. This was all explained a while back on here by
our member attorney Gitana1.

Where can I find that picture?

I posted it a couple of hours ago. It is upthread under one of my posts.

I have not heard of a motive yet for David and Louise Turpin.

Many injustice collectors are driven by envy and revenge. They come hand in hand. Elliot Rodger, Eric Harris, Adam Lanza, Seung-Hui Cho, Devin Kelley, Stephen Paddock, Omar Mateen, and Osama bin Laden are driven by extreme envy and revenge. They are really determined to get revenge.

It is unknown of David and Louise Turpin were driven by jealousy. It could be possible.

Websleuth Radio Interview Tina Meier
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/websleuths/2013/09/30/tricias-true-crime-radio-adult-cyber-bullying

It starts at the 20:40 mark from September 2013 Websleuths Radio Interview. Tina Meier, Megan Meier's mother. She is describing Lori Drew as a very talkative person who complained nonstop. She is described as a very unhappy and bitter person in a unhappy marriage. Drew wanted everyone to know her plight and suffering in life. Meier's description of Drew is typical of an injustice collector. We do not know if David and Louise Turpin are constant complainers at this point. They are likely very negative people as they abused their children. Drew and Turpin are abusers, one being psychological, while the other is physical and psychological. Meier's description of Drew is more like Stephen Paddock, Devin Kelley, Omar Mateen, Seung-Hui Cho, Adam Lanza, Eric Harris, Elliot Rodger, and Osama bin Laden. I would not be surprised to see that describes David and Louise Turpin.

Have you posted these in the media and links thread? So interesting but don't want to take time to read right now while trying to catch up. :)

Everything about this case screams Narcissitic Personality Disorder, I'm not just blaming the mother they're both equally responsible. NPD people will always look for weak partners/enablers, kids are easy, parents have complete control of children's minds from birth, they can instill fear and train from a very early age. Remove schooling and they don't have to answer to anyone then.
one question I feel has to answered, if you are home schooling, shouldn't the parent have a certain level of education in order to actually teach themselves? Do home schooled children have to sit an annual exam to ensure needs are met? Is there any type of programme that has to be followed/met to meet educational standards? Or is it simply that children can be home schooled without regulation and hence be removed from any kind of normality?

Can you explain what a genogram would show?

https://www.genopro.com/genogram/

A Genogram is a tool used by mental health professoinals/clinical social workers/clinicians in their work with individuals and families. It is like a family tree but goes way beyond that as it outlines relationships, interactions, psychological factors etc throughout the family through generations. It goes very deep. They are amazing tools for the clinician and in the healing of the person.

In the era that they pulled off the school thing, yep, I believe that they could have pulled it off. I ditched school every chance I got, in that era. Some of my creativity would not fly today, but, it got me out of school back in the day!

I don't buy the shower story after the 20/20 interview. In that interview, the initial shower story changed, significantly. I'm not sure I buy much of anything that sister is selling, at this point.

An official stated that out of the many calls they've received from all over expressing concern and interest in adopting, not ONE has been from ANY family member.

These people seem after only two things..money and attention. The kids probably don't even matter to them. The one sister has had her share of issues too, and even had her own kids removed from her at one point.

Theyve been on TV weeping and saying this and that like they're so concerned and love them, but I bet none of them have even offered to donate supplies, clothes, or money to the kids.

Both sides are clearly very deranged and sheds a lot of light into LT and DT IMO. I don't believe much of what they say.

As for the neighbors in TX..how did she know their names and who she played with if they wouldn't tell their names? Were they only able to identify them after this came out in the news and photos and stories appeared with their names"

sorry if this has been posted, but I can't find the krispy kreme photo..can someone share please?

Marking my spot.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5293719/cadaver-dogs-aid-House-Horrors-investigation.html

Homicide detectives are considering sending cadaver dogs into the David and Louise's house of horrors, according to a new report.

They should check the TX house as well......

Citing sources familiar with the investigation, the show is also reporting that the detectives may want to order DNA testing on the 13 Turpin siblings, seven adults and six children to confirm that they are related. This information was not confirmed by the Sheriff's Department.

Thought they'd completed this dna check already.... but if it needs to be investigated again ; they must have doubts about whether or not the older girls gave birth.
It's doubtful, imo -- since none of those young ladies look strong enough to carry a baby to term. :(

I'm really trying not to let my mind wander into dark thoughts, since what we know about this case is already horrific enough as it is. BUT there is something I need to say.

Ever since the first time I saw unblurred pictures of the kids, I keep getting a very ominous feeling about one of the older sons. The one who is wearing glasses. I am extremely disturbed by one of the pictures where they are wearing the red Dr Suess shirts, which looks like it was taken late in the day and they are close to the camera (or maybe the picture was cropped). I know this may seem crazy, but I swear I am getting this ominous vibe when I look into his eyes that he has seen some especially horrible things. All of the kids have suffered and seen bad things, of course...but the vibe I'm getting is that he has truly seen some nightmarish things. They way he is smiling reminds me a lot of an old WWI picture I saw somewhere where a soldier was sitting in a trench and smiling maniacally because he had finally just snapped and totally lost his mind. He saw too much.

Maybe my imagination is just getting a little too wild, but this is just a very strong feeling I'm getting. For some reason, I'm just getting a weird vibe about that kid in particular.

I do fear they're sending in the cadaver dogs as they think there may have been weaker children who perished as they were less able to withstand this level of cruelty - I really hope this isn't the case :(
I know I keep banging on about NPD but I feel so strongly that this is what's happened here, this is like a more horrific version of Flowers in the Attic
