Well, nothing really. It would hardly be accurate to say it started today, even if this does turn out to be Islamic extremism, because that wouldn't have started today. The World Trade Centre was bombed in 1993, then destroyed by hijacked planes in 2001, then there was the army base shooting and then the Boston bombing.

Let's face facts here, the American muslim population is just as much vulnerable to radicalisation as any European muslim population.

And the motive for joining a radical jihadist group might not even be to kill the infidel. Any psychotic, alienated, disenfranchised loser can join just to be able to kill ANYBODY.

We were not talking about today specifically, but, obviously when things like this happen, there is a thought is this terrorism ? When we talk "terrorism" our security agencies, naturally come into the dialog!

Huh? The named suspect is a Muslim. Of course they are going to respond. They have done so in the past when Muslims are accused of terrible crimes because stupid people take it as confirmation that all Muslims are killers and terrorists.

It has not been confirmed that he is Muslim. His estranged father said he was but nothing has been confirmed. Others were looking at his FB and saying he wasn't Muslim. My point was that he MUST be Muslim if they are releasing a statement. And no, not all Muslims are not killers or terrorists. Just like all white guys who live in the mountains without running water aren't killers either. (referring to the crazy guy in CO who had access to weapons.)

Why does it seem like everyone is ready to pounce on everyone here tonight? We should be uniting, not jumping all over each other. Maybe it is just me, but WS wasn't like this before. Or, maybe it is different when it comes to guns, religion and people inserting politics?

Thoughts and prayers to all the victims and I am so thankful for LE. They did an outstanding job today. Very thankful that other people weren't hurt when these "non-humans" were on the loose.

I looked at his Facebook. He used very specific Muslim phrases. Just like all Jewish men do not have the two long curls, clothing varies with the strictness with which one follows Islam. Some Muslim clothing styles are dictated by culture as well.

However, until the FBI confirms that he twisted the Koran to fit his sick mind or that he is part of a larger terrorist, extremist organization, his religion is completely irrelevant, IMO.

Are we all aware that the airlines do not actually check the no-fly list until the flight is already in the air? American airline companies don't receive the passengers names until partway through the flight.
