The preliminary hearing scheduled for 12/17/19 for both Shover brothers was postponed.

New Preliminary Hearing Date set for 02/28/2020 at the Riverside Hall of Justice, Dept. 53 @ 8:30 AM.

From today's court calendar, it appears the preliminary hearing will be continued, AGAIN. However, this time the Motion for Continuance was by the District Attorney pursuant to 1050PC filed by DA.

Penal Code Section 1050 allows a continuance of any hearing, including the trial, on a showing of good cause. I've seen this before and it's always been because the DA is in the middle of a trial. (I believe the defense continued hearings for this case 8 times since March). I'll post the next preliminary hearing date when I find it.

This has been long time coming and I truly hope the preliminary happens today. There's supposed to be much evidence on the brothers including what they discovered in the backyard.

Felony Settlement Conference (FSC) for the two Shover brothers continued to
Oct 25, 2019.

Both brothers are housed in separate jails, and they did make Sept appearance.

DA commented that there are 1800 pages of evidence, and 12 CD's of photos. Hope more will be shared at preliminary hearing -- still not scheduled....

I keep checking in as if something would be instantaneously online but I don't see any changes updated to the court hearing document and I also can't find any articles online since March of LAST YEAR

Nothing in the news tonight about the preliminary hearing that was calendared for today. I was really hoping to learn more today.

Aranda's birthday is June 1st-- this would be her 18th with her entire life ahead of her. This young girl deserves justice.

I can access record only on the hearing date and then it's gone (without a subscription). California court records are strange like that unless you go to the Riverside Hall of Justice and use the kiosk on-court site!

weren't they "laying in wait" therefore this could not at all be second degree murder? Also, why would Owen seem to have the lesser charges than his older brother? just having a hard time understanding motive when the charges seem to change... moo

@Niner -- I don't think the prelim hearing happened on Monday but I'll keep checking. I think the protests are overtaxing the resources now from the Riverside Justice Center photos.
