Strange huh Texas Mist? There seemed to be a loving extended family. Hope the kids are healing and there is a resolution for the family soon.

Yes - this case is very puzzling....I have hope everyday that LE has some good strong leads & is putting together a case piece by piece.

And that the killer is found before he destroys more lives & devastates another community.

our news just reported that LE has determined this was a targeted hit.
not sure if there was more info revealed or what but it was on the 12 pm report.

will post link later.

I hope they are getting closer to making an arrest...they were saying back in May that "investigators have said they believe the killer targeted the couple".

If they think it was a 'hit' maybe they have new evidence or confirmed suspicions. I'll cross my fingers something gets this case moving along.

Well there should not be that many people that could possibly have a reason to kill them.

Five months after the crime, the two detectives assigned to lead the case continue to spend a large portion of their time on it, Bonfiglio said.

The detectives have had help from the sheriff's Major Crimes Unit and an inter-agency task force on cyber crime and technology, he said.

Investigators have submitted hundreds of pieces of evidence to crime labs in the case, Bonfiglio said.

Detectives have also served numerous search warrants, many related to the victims' records or properties.

Bonfiglio declined to say if detectives have identified a possible motive or suspect, citing the continuing investigation.

"The information gleaned from this extensive investigation has given us a better understanding of at least why they may have been killed," Bonfiglio said.

"I believe that it will ultimately lead to an arrest."

Ventura Couple 'Targeted' By Killer

A wealthy couple stabbed to death in front of their children was not the victim of a random crime.

Homicide detectives in Ventura County say a wealthy couple stabbed to death in front of their children in a beach-front home were not the victim of a random crime.

"We're definitively saying that we believe they were targeted," Ventura County Sheriffs Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said Monday.

Brock and Davina Husted were killed May 20th by a man dressed in all black and wearing a motorcycle helmet. The man used a kitchen knife to stab them.

The Husted's children witnessed part of the attack and provided the description of the killer to police.

"A couple things I can't comment on specifically are whether or not we have a specific motive as well as if we are focused on a specific individual or individuals," Bonfiglio said in a telephone interview.

"There's certainly somebody who could give us crucial information, but, they may be, have some involvement," Bonfiglio said.

He said investigators have also concluded the stabbing murder of a woman days later in Ventura was not connected to the Husted case.

Snipped the above from Jbean's news link.

BBM; Sounds like the detective has someone very specific in mind that could supply information? I wonder if that person is a family member or an employee of the business Brock owned?

A niece goes on camera talking about the murders. They show the big rocky shoreline the killer would have to climb in the dark to murder the couple. (video at site)

Authorties believe a murderer "targeted" Brock and Davina Husted -- as for why -- that is still a looming question. The family of the couple is hoping that someone will come forward with information that could solve the case and give peace to the family, especially to the two young children who lost their mother and father so violently.

The family will hold a candlelight vigil at Faria Beach on Friday, November 20th -- six months to the day when the couple was murdered.

Thanks, JBean.

I wonder what the motive could be? Maybe, he worked at and was fired from their wrought iron business? Poor kids have no parents now. I'm so glad they found him.

When is the press conference?

Thanks for the update, JBean. So glad this won't be another unsolved case that languishes in cold case files for years.

The suspect looks pretty creepy. He must have had a lot of rage to kill these people in such a savage manner.
