Okay, well you didn't explain that well the first time- what I got from your original post was that he left the cell phone in the car, so by crashing it, they'd find the car when they pinged the phone.

Woops, yea, no, not what I meant, I see why you guys were side eyeing me now!

This is what I understand to have happened. It is close to 300' before the drop-off.

Got it! From the same MSM link quoted above from Ghost:http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Search-Goes-Cold-for-Missing-College-Student-222119091.html

So this looks to be very close to the road. Do we know for sure if this is from Bryce's vehicle?

RiverKing21 - I really want to believe your version, because it does make a lot of sense to me. Would you mind getting verified as a local so we can weigh your information against what we have?
I'm trying I emailed with my # so that I can. If Dragz was here he would just be able to verify me as well.

YES!!! This is what matches to the scene when I got there!!! Perfect diagram.

I guess I am not even sure knowing his intentions helps that much in where he is NOW. I think the accident probably changed everything, in a way. I do not feel he intentionally crashed and ditched the car, so for me, what happened next seems likely to have more based on disorientation, fear/humiliation or frustration/anger. My fear is that the reason he left his things behind is because he wandered around, looking for help or trying to think what to do, and is still out there, somewhere, but just has not been found.

Hey I believe he's a local- he had me at 25+ years boating on Castaic...

Ha! Thanks yes I am a local born and raised in this town. When it was onion fields.

My first impression was that his car was near the water when it stopped or landed or whatever. Yet, not one picture shows the lake or how close the water is. I think I read in one report it was 100' away. Is this correct? tia

Ok so for now we have 3 options:

1) Purposely crashed the car, and ran off to ???

2) Accidentally crashed the car, and ran off to ???

3) Accidentally crashed the car, and hurt where ???

As stated earlier, just like you feel, we need to find out if these ???'s can lead to clues we can use. For example, I think Buttonwillow can help with 1 and 2, or the cab companies can help with 1 or 2.

There has to be more we can do, with knowing these things, especially since we have nothing for 3 for now since TES is out.

Just wanted to point out, since it seems several people want to be "verified insiders":

Insiders
If you have not known the family or friends prior to the incident, you most likely will not need to be verified. There are certain instances where this becomes necessary like in the case where a private investigator is hired and wants to post as an insider. Websleuths does not condone our members getting involved in crime cases unless there is something the member can do that will make a difference. Please contact law enforcement with any tips.

Locals:
We no longer verify locals. It became way too time consuming and we didn't feel it was necessary. However, if a moderator deems that a poster seems to be more of an insider than a local, we will ask that you become verified before posting information that is not in the mainstream media. Otherwise, you are free to post about your area and what you've observed.

Perfect picture!!! Ok see that patch of grass by the tower? That's where the ditch is and it's soft dirt not grass!

Do you think he could of drove the car until the 15 foot drop off?

This is great!! Where are you located?
I'm in Hesperia (near Victorville). I have a 4 door Camry that can hold 3 to 4 passengers depending on size of people :)

My prior understanding from Dragracerz info from his brother Glenn when he was on scene, was that where Bryce went off the road was the other side of the tower opposite the road. So if the place in this diagram is 12:00, it would be the 9:00 side.

Can you confirm either way, Amanda?

I'm all the way back on page 31 so sorry about chiming in here randomly.
My nineteen year old son just rushed through the room and I quietly asked,
"Why do 19 year olds hate their parents?". He replied, "Because they can't get away from them."

Well thanks a lot! Telling though, no? (And, start doing your own laundry by the way!)
They desire independence but aren't able to pay all their own bills yet, haven't had time to complete preparations for future plans as they're really just beginning, and some of them feel as if they're in limbo even if they're in school. Hopefully they aren't forced into doing something that they themselves were never on board with from the beginning. That's a potential recipe for disaster.

The good news is, with any luck, they'll come back to you around age 25 on average (so I've been told).

It is closer to 800' to the edge of the water from where the car stopped.

I live in Bakersfield just north of Castaic, my Daughter and I went to the beach and exited at Castaic and drove up to the tower and got out, walked around the back of it. It just didn't seem like a accident to me, Well, I don't think he intended to wreck the car.
I think he thought he could drive down that and he hit the 15 drop off.

OK I missed that since there was no street names listed. It's the same scenario but on the otherside, as you stated. I just thought it was an old picture showing brush versus now dirt.

ETA: You know what, unless I see the street names, I don't want to say for sure, because the distance between the road and antenna looks off. I can't tell if that's because of the scaling of this map.

If you're standing at the guardrail opening looking at the tower, was the place he went down on the opposite side of the tower / fenced in area, or on the right side of the fence/tower?

Give me a second, I am drawing both what we know from the family versus what RK says.
