How can a "friend" determine that a sister had a drug problem? Slander of one's character? Better have some proof when making that kind of claim. imo
Not being combative here, only asking because if you have friends that are active drug users how can you determine they have a drug problem unless you're a doctor?
I hope that this trial doesn't get nasty and to keep focus on a cowardly killer that murdered Bob Lee perhaps for his own selfish reasons. We will see.
All speculation. MOO
Justice for Bob Lee!
If the "friend" sold her drugs and did drugs with her and has lots of texts documenting that (as one does, in those cases), she'll have plenty to testify to.
"Drug problem" does not mean "diagnosed" (or no one's drug use would be mentioned much). But a person can get on the stand, admit their own drug use and talk about who they did drugs with (or whom they got drugs from). If the sister was actively calling various people (including Bob Lee) in order to score drugs, that could be attested, IMO.
In the Bryan Kohberger case, a person has come forward and talked about doing heroin with Bryan in high school. While drugs are probably irrelevant to that case, they wouldn't be in this case (because Bob got his drugs somewhere). If the sister is a drug dealer or user, and other people attest to it, that would be allowable in court, I'd think.
I thought the defendant/brother has already said that he was motivated by the fact that Bob was exposing Sister to drugs. I've read it several times.
It's going to get nasty, but only because it seems to me that two of the parties involved (Sister and Bob) were likely using drugs. The defendant/murderer was upset about that. That's why the sister sends Bob the text about "how hard" the brother had been on Bob, or whatever she says.
There's a lot more to this story. At any rate, I do believe "friends" who claim to have knowledge of someone using drugs in their presence can be put on the stand. Whether the jury believes them is up to the jury. If there are several witnesses of this type, then it will be hard for the jury to disbelieve all of them. The sister herself could testify, if they give her immunity for her drug charges.
IMO.
