Dec. 12 is the "hardship date" that was set months ago by the judge during jury selection. If a verdict has not been reached by the end of the day Thursday, jurors will be able to opt out of the trial and end their participation on the jury.

I hope I'm wrong, but it seems to be getting close to a hung jury.
Yes, this was the defense's aim. Instill doubt into just one juror.
Makes me so mad.

Yup, same here. I feel terrible for Lee's family. This is complete BS. I know, a verdict hasn't come back yet, but I just have a really bad feeling. I can't stand the entire Momeni family and it just sucks that their high dollar, out of town, flashy defense attys have possibly won. Ugh.

For anyone not interested in reading the article:

If any jurors decide to leave the trial, an alternate has to be chosen and deliberations will have to restart. Additionally, if there aren't enough alternates to fill the jury, then a mistrial will be called.

Like you, I hope that there is justice for Bob Lee and that the jury comes back with a guilty verdict today. But if there is a hung jury, then the prosecution will likely retry the case, as from what I have seen, the prosecutor seems to really want to prosecute this case and get justice for Bob Lee. I would rather see a hung jury than a not guilty verdict from the jury.

If the jury does acquit Nima Momeni, I hope the Lee family considers a civil lawsuit against him since a civil lawsuit has a lower standard of evidence than the criminal courts. They may not need the money, but it would be one way to hold Nima and his family accountable.

Finally, if there is no legal justice for the family of Bob Lee, then at least the legal proceedings have exposed to everyone the depravity of the Momeni family as they have lied, covered up, and sought to win this case with the money they live on from Khazar's marriage to a wealthy surgeon.

Bob Lee Trial Update: Remember Bo the DJ (left photo)? Bob Lee's accused killer attempted to convince a judge to declare a mistrial before jurors reach a verdict. The defense's mistrial motion was filed because of Bo's testimony.

Nima Momeni's defense attorneys accused prosecutors of eliciting “perjured testimony” from their star witness, Borzu “Bo” Mohazabbi. Bo took the stand early in the murder trial on Oct 16 & 17. He was close friends with Lee and works in the tech industry.

The defense's motion states that during direct examination, Bo "stated under oath that he affirmatively did not engage in drug use, specifically cocaine. This testimony was false, as evidenced by surveillance video outside Battery Club from the night in question.”

"The witness’s false testimony directly bolstered the prosecution’s case, prejudicing the Defendant and undermining the integrity of these proceedings,” the motion states. Judge Gordon denied the mistrial motion and jurors are still deliberating for a potential verdict.

Bob Lee spent his last three days alive partying with friends around San Francisco, including: Bo, Momeni’s younger sister Khazar, and Lee’s alleged drug dealer.

End of day 6 - “These guys are committed, I’ve got to give it to them.” Jurors are back on Monday for their 7th day of deliberations in Bob Lee murder trial.

Why were the jurors in the hallway? This isn't normal is it? Aren't they normally out of view during deliberations?

Well, with today being ‘hardship day’, as referenced above, and with the unusual reports of jurors gathering in hallway ‘cept one, possibly conferring with Judge on the inside, and with three (?) alternates remaining, my hope is the lone juror lacks the power of conviction, but doesn’t wanna be responsible for a hung, so excused themselves and, with an alternate put in place, the new deliberations will result in unanimous agreement before lunchtime Monday after the long weekend.

No verdict today in the Bob Lee murder trial. “I have no idea” what the jury’s hangup is, defendant Nima Momeni’s lawyer Saam Zangeneh tells reporters

I would think they are deliberating on whether this is first degree, second degree or manslaughter. Not if he is guilty or not (he is).
