I heard on KUSI that a body was found in a heavily wooded marshy area next to the lake. If so, I'm hopeful this will preserve some of the DNA.

I wonder if there will be a presser later.

Bless those who need it the most right now - especially the searchers, LE, and most all -- the family.

What I find so sad is how close her body was found to her car.....

I hope for her father's sake that he wasn't near there when he first ran the trails looking for her. I can't imagine how he would feel knowing that he may have been that close. I imagine she was dead by then, but still... :cry:

I was listening to the scanner when they found items and were getting LE over to the search area and discussing getting confirmation, etc., You could just tell it was something serious.

RIP Chelsea King. I hope you can somehow feel all the love people have for you. Prayers and condolences to Chelsea's Parents and 13 yr old Brother. This is very sad.

I was listening to the scanner when this broke also, Curious. I thought it was serious when the dispatcher wanted a unit and officer for traffic control. I think we all sensed something this afternoon beginning with the ASAP transmissions.

It is so sad, but still amd thankful Chelsea's body was located and she did not have to be out there another night.

Can't say enough about the determination of LE and the community to find Chelsea's body - everyone was terrific, right down to the amazing dogs involved in the search.

My heartfelt sympathies to all those who loved and cared for Chelsea. Maybe now, mom and dad can find a touch of closure.

You have a taste of what our community is like. You should see all the blue ribbons here.

Now JAG will get to see what the wrath of this community is like. :furious:

It's this finger of the lake where her body was found, and the shoe was found to the slightly east edge near this finger of the lake near the shore according to KGTV.

Saying on the 10 News that Chelsea must have been running on the trail, but was found closer to the water.

Wow, they found her. Look at the huge swampy areas they had to search. I'm so grateful they did locate her body because it will make it all the harder now for JAG to avoid the DP he truly deserves for doing this to a beautiful young girl.

They are trying to keep the family away from TV because they are about to have a formal meeting with the family.

News media all getting choked up talking about this.

The ORANGE area circled is about where the crime scene tape immediately around the area is. They are restricting that to Sheriffs, FBI, and the medical examiner.

The two RED EXCLAMATION MARKS in TRIANGLES are the location of the body and the show. This is also the area where the dog jumped out into the water earlier.

The yellow and green circle areas are where the heavy searches were Sunday (yellow) and Monday (green).

The cursive 'i' is where FBI was yesterday on the shore

The helicopter is there area Sheriff Astria was flying low most of yesterday and landing and taking off periodically.

The boats in the water are where the dive teams were yesterday

No, he wouldn't have likely run anywhere near back that far - also, the indication I heard was more the direction to the main part of the lake and not this back way near the homes.

So thankfully, I don't think he was quite that close.
