D: returned same day at 4:30pm?

Mc: yes -

D: alone?

Mc: alone in car; called Det. Pollack to come over.

D: Why?

Mc: need assistance driving cars... was going to impound garcia's car.

D: You know Garcia had 4 vehicles?

Mc: yes, saw 2 or 3 of them in morning. Went back with intention of taking garcia's car that he drove that night. hoping garcia would let them take car.
Drove up driveway; son out front; asked for Garcia; told him "needed more detail record, as this is a serious case". "Want you to go to the station;" garcia wants to call friend/attorney;

D: Did garcia ask if he was under arrest?

Mc: no

Mc: when asked which car he was dirving at that point said he wanted to call friend/attorney

D: at which point did you say "you could take ALL vehicles"?

well, at least Dratman is trying to find out IF the detective said "I could take all the vehicles"?

Mc: no, just to Pat Little (Garcia's friend/attorney) when he got there.

waited for atotrney for 10 to 15 minutes

D: talk to him about anything? (while waiting for attorney)

Mc: talked about his property; pond / nothing about his account per case.; walked down the driveway - garcia wanted to walk down the driveway (I guess so his wife wouldn't know about anything??!-this is me!! NIner speaking!)
D: how did you tow car?

Mc: decided garcia could drive down to secure police area.

D: told him you were going to search car - (asked again?) objections from pros. judge - sustained next question

Mc: Det Pollock showed garcia where to park his car in secure area; came in from parking lot went upstairs, told garcia he was free to go anytime;

D: was there a time that he DID exercise that right to go?

Mc: yes, when I wanted to take pictures of his injuries; didn't want his injuries to be photographed.

D: at what point did you find Christie's cell phone?

Mc: believe Tuesday 10/11

D: back to end of the interview on 10/9; agree Mr Garcia revoked his consent to search car?

Mc: no.

D: Burlando has no alibi or was by himself a certain time period (I didn't catch the hours, sorry!) of night of 10/5...

Mc: talked with Mr Boyd, found out she had violent relationship with boyfriend...

this attorney, Dratman takes about 2 to 3 minutes between a LOT of questions, to look at his notes!

D: get medical reports on 10/20?

Mc: had series of meetings with doctors regarding medical reports.

Mc: 10/26 Dr. (somebody?) remembered treating garcia, but she looked at the detectives medical reports to refresh her memory. Saw & remembered scratches on his face - at least 1 centimeter long; doesn't remember how many scratches; doctor saw injury to eye.

D: did you ask her opinion on the medical report?

Mc: didn't feel qualified to say anthing...

D: next Dr?

Mc: Dr Breaks (ph)... on 10/31; all he could tell me "garcia had scratches; no specific remember of how long, how many scratches garcia had; spoke to him for about 5 minutes in person

Mc: then met with Dr. Barnes, 11/1 in person - about 20 minutes long;

D: did you bring support for medical records?

Mc: yes, and photos; at least 2 to 3 pictures of garcia - full face, chest 8x10 pics.

Mc: Dr. Barnes is optometrist & optomogolist - remembers treating atrcia; remembers sractches; about 6 to 12 scratches; abrasions to left ye, scratch and hemotoba (sp?); injury consistent with a poke in the eye

this attorney took quite a bit of more time... looking thru his notes....

Mc: Dr. Barnes doesn't remember seeing black eye on 10/6 - his recollections.

Mc: spoke to a co-worker of garcia (Doug Fadoo) ? - remembers a meeting set for the data center on 10/5 for 9am - garcia was 20 minutes late; was there until about 11am; did not see garica after 11; abrasions, sufficient scratches on garcia's face per co-worker.

10 minute break...
*ran out to move my car from a 3 hour parking spot - had a couple of hits off my cigarette...

back in...

Defense: no further questions.

Judge: People? re-direct?

Pros: no your honor

People do not call anymore witness... I couldn't hear the very beginning of the prosecutors closing arguments... here's a gist of it:

oh - they put the tape and video into evidence...

Pros: Christie not a person who'd walk away from life - had a job interview coming on Friday 10/7; she is dead; no contact with boy friend, friends, family; no prescription meds refilled or with her; car found dusty - she is dead! there are 4 specific points to show this should go to trial:
*events surrounding casino/plaed cards/talked/drank/he knew her problems with boyfriend as she was showing off her bruises to players and the dealers that night/made advance to her/"take her home with him";

yes, she did like to gamble; go to casinos; yes, she met her boy friend same way; evidence - last seen on tape with garcia; no where else "seen"' no where else seen on several different tapes....

me here - there is a time gap of 3minutes on the videos... where they can 'see' Christie by his car... then the 3 minute gap... next photo, him driving out... I guess that is how the tape/video takes the pictures; every 3 minutes...

Pros: Evicence shows garcia turned right on road, not going home; don't know even if he got home that nite; said home about 2am; no alibi after he turned right.

Pros: contact with LE on 10/12 - nervous; minimizing his flirting with her; just accident left together, he says; denies she was in his car; also found print outs of "search warrant" issue on his table at home.

Pros: and 3rd - defendant's injuries - put injuries in proper time frame; didn't have them 10/4 - work or casino; but morning of 10/5 has injuries AFTER Christie goes missing. Went to a doctor 3 times; optomologist twice; scratches on chest; boyfriend said Christie was a fighter!

Pros: garcia's statements don't match up with his injuries... 4 different versions told... had to be at work at 9am for his meeting; he wouldn't get up and trim trees before going to work - a drive from Auburn to Sacramento... just a bunch of lies...

Pros: 4th - also significant forensics... hair in door handle; trunk - standard issue Toyota trunk carpet missing; evidence establishes it is victim's hairs; 2nd/3rd transfers not explained by Belizere (sp?) - hair found on floor board, could be 2nd/3rd transfers, but NOT the hair wedged in door handle, and hair found in trunk, which was pulled out!

Defense - Mr. Peters:
Prosecutors didn't call any witnesses - all testimony thru officer's - they probably don't have a sufficient case.

(he made these points:)

*reasonable cause a crime committed.
*miniscule of evidence "someone" a victim of foul play
*brings up how she met boyfriend same way - which was a violet, abusive relationship; Christie was showing dealers and other players bruises on her arm; "look what my boy friend did to me"
*when boy friend goes looking for her - 2 days later - he was gambling, as he waited to talk to security
*she had a history of gambling...
*in 10/9 statement by casino dealers: she was swearing, ver abusive to dealers; pit boss were going to 86 her out of casino

real issue - "corpus delecti" considers insufficient evidence to hold garcia...

end...

Judge: Good evidence presented at this long hearing; and no body is correct, sir.. people did issue good evidence re "no body"
circustanial evidence is sufficen and compelling enought for case...
*there is lack of direct end of death, but was last seem with garcia; her clothing remains untouched; all possessions remaind; no job interview show up on friday 107; no one has seen her.... based on this...

allegations of other peopl, "other time" not presented with any of this, does regard evidence present again garica as enought. allegations of how he got injuries; court finds sufficient evidence to hold over for trial!!

Dec. 20th at 1pm Dept 13 for arraignment Bail stays same...

The end! by right back!

I stayed seated to take in all that was going around me...

the defenant looked over at her parents... doesn't look surprised that he is going to trial... no "facial" expressions from him at all!

now they are chaining him up - waist cuffs... 2 more officers come into the room - oh, they are chasing us out of the court room!!! so they can lead the defendant out...

as I walk out, channel 3 is waiting for one of the defense lawyers, Mr. Peters... watch him be interviewed.

then off to my car, and who just happens to be parked in front of me, but Mr. Peters.... he is driving a SLK280 mercedes-Benz with DEALER plates!!???!! how cheap is that!! LOL!

and a "wavey guy" to two ladies I met outside - Christine and her friend - didn't catch her name! They were quite relieved that garcia is going to trial. They said they read at WS!! SO " HI!" ladies, and join in discussion!!

that's it guys! How'd I do?? I see aussiegran said it was great! THanks!!! :woohoo: appreciate it!

And to answer your question, aussiegran... about not having his picture taken... too incriminating I would think! From one of the photos that I have seen - it SURE looks like a human bite on one of his fore arms!!! Guess we'll have to wait until Dec. 20th, so see when trial begins! I will definitely try and make some of the days... but am using the rest of my vacation days from work already for Christmas shutdown... so won't have too many left!! But I bet we could get chico to drive down and take a few days of notes, eh Chico??

okay - got to go and watch the news!

Thank you Niner for reporting the proceedings so well!!

I'm sure the end of this hearing is a relief of sorts for the family. Just to get it over with and gear up for the trial.....I'm remaining hopeful her body will be found.

Did I miss the news report on finding her cell phone? Thanks niner that was really great of you. Does anyone remember if they searched his pond? This has to be so horrible for her poor family. I pray they can find her. Thanks again niner.

Hi mom3dd - I believe security at the casino found her cell phone by a slot machine - but someone here can correct me, if I'm wrong here - but I believe that is where they found it - in the casino.

Didn't know he HAD a pond on his property... oh yea... remember now that the detective that was on the stand yesterday mentioned talking to garcia about his property and pond!! GOOD Catch, mom3dd!! Now, I too wonder if they did!!???

Chico - are they having another search this coming weekend? are you going to join in?

I ran across an article yesterday that mentioned her cell phone was found on 10/11 in the casino. I recall this being mentioned on one of the news shows that covered....maybe Fox/Greta...said the cell was found in the pit but I didn't realize it was found so much later than her car.

I know there are a couple people that participate in the searches. I found a site that lists hiking trails, etc...in the Sacramento and Bay Areas and the sites that have poison ivy/posion oak are listed from low to high ratings of the likelihood of someone getting poison oak/ivy.

Great job Niner! Thanks so much :blowkiss:
If they could find that trunk mat I'd bet it's full of forensic evidence. After hearing about the cell phone I wonder if that's when he made his move, when she realized she left it and was gonna go back to the casino. I think it's a good possibility that she left the phone as an excuse to go back and give him the slip since he had lent her money, even if it wasn't intentional on her part maybe that's what he thought she was doing and he took her against her will.

Thanks strach!! :blushing:

Very good thinking, strach... I was thinking along those lines also. He "thought" he could do to her ANYTHING he wanted, because he had loaned her a big sum of money... meaning... he wanted "something" in return for his act of kindness... 🤬🤬🤬!!!

If you guys don't have Google Earth-you gotta get it!! There's a free version. I don't know what more the paid versions could really offer.

This would be great to look for places Christie may have been killed and/or buried.

It's satellite views of the entire world -you can zoom in to pinpoint locations. It names every single building in the area you are viewing. I was amazed that it showed the names of the bank and grocery store down the street from my house. You can zoom in so close we could see a close up of our own roof!!
I was amazed at the details. My pc doesn't have the needed resolution for the vivid colors so I went to a friend's house who had it and briefly played around with it. It would be great for searching for desolate areas and/or bodies of water, etc...that arent realistic on a flat map. I mean it shows EVERYTHING!! You can zoom in on the Thunder Valley Casino, then zoom out for a wide view of the surrounding area to see what roads he may have driven. It will show all the side roads, each body of water-you can actually even zoom in on Garcia's property if you know his address so you can take a look at that pond that was mentioned!!

I'll try to go to my friend's house again but she gets home from work kinda late. I didn't have the chance to use it for long last time because we were all taking turns finding 'dumb' stuff, like the grocery store down the street, etc...

Hey I found this article....
They're not sure it's hers but thought I'd post it anyway.

A clump of hair and scalp found in rural Nevada County was sent Tuesday for DNA analysis. Although it is not clear if the hair is related to the case of Christie Wilson, missing since Oct. 5, officials are investigating the possibility.

Keith Royal, Nevada County sheriff, said Wednesday that the hair found Monday appeared to have some skin attached to it.

"(The hair) looked blonde and brown (and could be) human hair. It appeared to have some gray in it," Royal said. "We ultimately collected those clumps as possible evidence."

He said it is not clear at this point where the hair came from or if a crime had been committed. A search team was sent to the area, about a mile beyond Bridgeport State Park on Pleasant Valley Road in Nevada County, and turned up nothing beyond the hair.

There's still so much area to be searched.....surely she'll be found!! The organinzed searches will regroup after the first of the year until then there is nothing wrong with interested parties continuing to search on their own. Several back roads from Lincoln to Auburn have been searched and although I don't know each area thats been cleared I'm planning to go back down and look around myself maybe more towards south of I 80.....those documents LE requested from Sierra College made my ears perk up....

Chicoliving, fill me in...I must've missed something. Some docs were requested from Sierra College? Hmmmm...

On another note-I was reading that there are old logging mines or something on the outskirts of Sacramento somewhere and there is some kind of 'hidden ditch'. The area is supposed to overlook Sacramento (you can see the lights at night). I was researching areas that were known for poison oak and came across a blog for this hiking team from GA that was in town a couple yrs ago for a hiking competition that stretched from Lake Tahoe to the Sacramento area. They got lost and came across a shack, some logging mines(?), some dirt roads that should've been closed off (according to a posted sign) but were obviously being accessed. It mentioned they were told later that some biker's club used that area for something-and sure enough, one of the hikers got 'the worst case of poison oak' he'd ever had. I hope they find her soon wherever she is.
