passion, yes, the daughter and her fiancee were the first killed, apparently.

Here. The young lady's father was representing the suspect. The suspect obviously lost his case and was fired from his job with LAPD.

"Quan and her fiancé were killed in her car last week. Randal, Monica's father, LAPD captain turned lawyer in retirement, represented Dorner in front of the Board of Rights, in a tribunal that ruled against Dorner at the time of his dismissal, LAPD Capt. William Hayes told The Associated Press on Wednesday night."

passion, I believe Dolly has been inactive for a while.

This is too close for comfort. Stay safe out there, SoCal Sleuthers!

The live feed has stopped showing everything the officers on the ground are doing. They fear the suspect may have ways to receive news feed or scanner feed or something.

Just noticed that! Thats probably a wise move. KCAL 9 was zooming in super close for a while and the anchors were giving out the exact locations. Anyone know if they checked out the burning truck yet? Wonder if it was in fact his.

What I am finding very interesting is that Dorner knows where these folks live...and where their daughters (and others) live, too.

This is a well prepared, very detailed, very confident man...it's not going to go easily for anyone. I just hope they get him before nightfall, or they're able to use their helis with FLIR to find him.

I got this far into his manifesto. He's still holding onto first grade carp.

My first recollection of racism was in the first grade at Norwalk Christian elementary school in Norwalk, CA. A fellow student, XXXX if I can recall, called me a n*gger on the playground. My response was swift and non-lethal. I struck him fast and hard with a punch an kick. He cried and reported it to a teacher. The teacher reported it to the principal. The principal swatted XXXX for using a derogatory word toward me. He then for some unknown reason swatted me for striking XXXX in response to him calling me a n*gger".

There were seven LAPD officers in the neighborhood when the newspaper delivery women were shot, evidently protecting a targeted victim. (KTLA)

Unknown if they've reached the car yet.

Jax, what I found interesting was his use of the term "non-lethal" in describing his 6 year old response to racism. How many 6 year olds are "lethal" on the playground, anyway?

And "unknown reason" for swatting Dorner? No...Dorner was swatted for getting physical. Sigh.

The chip on his shoulder is HUGE. And apparently very heavy.

I wonder if Dorner has noticed the helicopters? I doubt he needs the live shots to know the police are out there.

He was a police man. Which presumably means he can do a background check on all his potential targets. He has had a lot of training.

If I understand correctly, he was supposedly fired for attacking other officers for using the n-word. He apparently never learned about non-physical responses to situations.

When I think about matters of race I think of what the Boston Celtic great Bob Cousy said in the 1960s when asked about the horrible language used against his teammate, a black man named Bill Russell, and the conditions Russell had had to face in the days before integration. "If I were black, I'd be H. Rap Brown," Cousy said, naming a prominent black militant of the time. Then he stopped himself. Cousy was an amazingly competitive little guy, one who would take nothing from an opponent in terms of intimidation. And then he said, "No, if I were black, I'd be dead." Because he could have not endured what Russell had had to endure.

It is easy to undersell the tribulations of another.

He sent a package to CNN on Feb 1st.

CNN showed some photos from his facebook earlier. I can't find this facebook, is it gone now? One photo was a tombstone with the name Dorner on it.

Is there any reason to think he might have stolen a vehicle and left the area?

It depends on how long the truck was burning. The roads in and out of Big Bear are windy and you can't just zoom out of that area. However, he's been planning this for awhile from what we can tell, so he may have this figured out as well.
