We had a power outage last night around 10 pm - nothing much to do but try to sleep. Thoughts of the Han family flooded my mind; and as I had done decades ago wrt the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, I imagined what had happened to them.
Since Jenni and Emily were last seen around 7 pm and Dr. Han around 10 pm (as reported), I figured these last sightings were at the Clinic as the pair and later the doctor left the premises for the night. Also reported, 'lying in wait' may be involved. Fast-forward to the location of the bodies in the garage, and I was left thinking a strong possibility exists that the killer hid there and waited for each car to arrive with its occupant(s), and he got the jump on them/him. Supporting this thought is the difficulty of wrapping the bodies in plastic and duct tape then dragging/carrying them TO the garage from the home, also time-consuming tasks.
The front door could have been left ajar after the killer entered the home with the key from one of the adult victims, in search of something to steal for his benefit or to conceal in order to slow the trail to him.
Thoughts, anyone? I realize we should know more in the next couple of days.
Here is a site that clarifies Special Circumstances in the State of California. The accused qualifies for several. It will be interesting to see what the DA charges, if not at arraignment then eventually, as well as whether she asks for the DP.

I had truly hoped that the victims did not suffer (shot as they slept) but after reading that the child had possibly been struck, that idea didn't hold-up so well. :-(
