The only significant thing I have been able to find regarding Pierre Haobsh, is he is listed as Webmaster at DocFoc.

http://www.docfoc.com/ip-registry-form

He seems like an underachiever in an otherwise high achieving family. But, since we aren't supposed to bring family into it, I won't. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if a guy who apparently drives a Lexus, and who may or may not be a 'webmaster' elects to hire his own attorney or chooses an appointed attorney.

The Latest: Suspect's sister condemns Santa Barbara killings

Nadine Jolie Courtney, a beauty blogger and author, said in an email Saturday that Pierre Haobsh is her brother.

(Finally, an article to confirm their relationship - I've been sleuthing all afternoon for a legitimate reference.)

Nadine is also mentioned in this latest article from the CBS affiliate in the Bay Area:

Chinese Herbalist’s Family Of 3 Killed In Santa Barbara County; Man Arrested

“We cannot wrap our minds around this tragedy and are in a state of shock,” she wrote on behalf of herself and her husband.

~jmo~

Yes, he must be an underachiever who finally
made a name for himself at the shame and embarrassment of his family.

Thanks. Sitting on my hands. I'll just say...his poor family. I hope none of them help hire a good attorney or stand by him. How do they deal with the ugly facts. He killed a child and her parents!

Today would have been Emily's Birthday Party to celebrate her turning six years old.

We had a power outage last night around 10 pm - nothing much to do but try to sleep. Thoughts of the Han family flooded my mind; and as I had done decades ago wrt the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, I imagined what had happened to them.

Since Jenni and Emily were last seen around 7 pm and Dr. Han around 10 pm (as reported), I figured these last sightings were at the Clinic as the pair and later the doctor left the premises for the night. Also reported, 'lying in wait' may be involved. Fast-forward to the location of the bodies in the garage, and I was left thinking a strong possibility exists that the killer hid there and waited for each car to arrive with its occupant(s), and he got the jump on them/him. Supporting this thought is the difficulty of wrapping the bodies in plastic and duct tape then dragging/carrying them TO the garage from the home, also time-consuming tasks.

The front door could have been left ajar after the killer entered the home with the key from one of the adult victims, in search of something to steal for his benefit or to conceal in order to slow the trail to him.

Thoughts, anyone? I realize we should know more in the next couple of days.

Here is a site that clarifies Special Circumstances in the State of California. The accused qualifies for several. It will be interesting to see what the DA charges, if not at arraignment then eventually, as well as whether she asks for the DP.

I had truly hoped that the victims did not suffer (shot as they slept) but after reading that the child had possibly been struck, that idea didn't hold-up so well. :-(

The more I think about it, I question why the killer went through the trouble of wrapping the bodies in plastic and duct tape, and placing them in the garage.

It wasn't going to buy time before someone realized they weren't around. It seems people would start looking for the doctor quickly, as they did. I guess he didn't expect people to go to the house, but when they did, dummy killer had left the front door ajar.

Honestly? I think he's seen the same crime/cop shows we all have. He planned to slow the decomp smell and I honestly believe he planned to come back to the house to move the bodies to the desert and shallow graves, along with the many, many, missing out there. JMO.

I think he just missed the door - hopped up on adrenaline, pleased he's done the "CSI" bit of his plan, I could see he just ****ed up on the way out. I bet there is sweat DNA all over that house and scene. JMO.

Unfortunately, real life and real cops are not as predictable as those on TV.

Long day, so let me just blurt out some of my thoughts and mainly the questions running through my own mind and hope they make sense.

You brought up some important facts and well thought out theories. Glad you're here. So, he could have done away with Jennie and Emily earlier, and then was waiting for Henry to arrive home hours later? He was 'lying in wait' possibly in the garage...that would make sense. I didn't catch that the child had been possibly struck. Terrifying.

I've been struggling with why he couldn't have avoided murdering the child and her mother. Why couldn't he get what he wanted without killing three people??? He must've wanted something specific at the house, but whatever it was he couldn't just break in when no one was home. He possibly needed Dr. Han to actually be there to get what he was after? Was it impossible to ever find Dr. Han alone at the house? I'm curious to know if Dr. Han was tortured or kept alive to get info before he was shot. Financial gain, a recent business transaction with Dr. Han, a diabolical plan...what was he after is what I'm waiting to learn.

I believe he was caught with a gun stolen from the victim's home. Is that correct? Did he shoot them with their own gun or did he bring his own gun? Odious was a word used...I think DA will go for Death Penalty.

His sister, on her Instagram says he went to Concord:

------- I went to Cate, in Santa Barbara! My brother went to Concord, and my mom went to two schools in Switzerland (although I never remember what they were called).

Cate is in Carpenteria which is south of Santa Barbara, and the only Concord boarding school I can find is in Concord, Massachusetts. Small, old town, New England. Hmmm.

Surprised the media hasn't dug up more on the killer, plus the only pic of him is that one creepy one from his blank fb. I think I did see one of him as a happy child with his sister. I'm guessing he might have lived in other states, but gee, I expected media to start digging.

Anyways...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ple-murder-Santa-Barbara-couple-daughter.html

He was found with a loaded 9mm handgun and property belonging to one of the victims was found inside his car, according to Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown.

'This was a diabolical, premeditated crime. One of the most odious that I have ever been involved with, or that this agency has ever investigated.'

Patients were seen at the clinic on Friday carrying bouquets of flowers and handwritten notes, a makeshift memorial for the family that touched - and healed - so many lives.

Just heard on the news that someone reported seeing the killer at Dr. Han's business on two occasions.

Yes, just heard on local news KSBY that the suspect was seen at the Clinic either Monday or Tuesday and he was visibly upset, heated.

Large U-haul van(s) used by LE in other local cases were seen leaving the home today.

Haobsh will be arraigned tomorrow afternoon at or after 1:30 pm.

A clip of DA Joyce Dudley included her mention of Special Circumstances: Multiple victims, lying in wait, financial gain.

Announcer said LWOP or DP. We may find-out tomorrow.

ETA: I believe it was stated that charges would be announced in the morning (Tuesday, March 29).

Cate was founded in 1910 and was a top area school back when I was in high school at another (very long time ago). I believe it is still held in high regard. It is a day school and a boarding school.

In my weekend sleuthing, I read that Pierre Haobsh's sister attended a reunion at Cate a couple of years ago as well as one at a second high school she attended.

I discovered that KSBY live streams its newscasts and replays its most recent when available:

http://www.ksby.com/category/297505/live-stream

I was just scrolling thru one that shows a different story from the newscast I recently watched LIVE. It included photos of Dr. Han and the family which I'd not seen before.

Older news videos listed here:

I too am surprised about the lack of media investigation.

I went thru every photo at his sister's Instagram on Saturday and saved 3 of them to disk:

One of him as a boy with his sister taken in 1996 (I think I'd seen it also at another site)...
a second more recent shot of him and his sister, on which she notes he is her 2nd favorite person on the planet after her husband...
and a third of their parents' passport photos from the 1970s with Arabic writing on the father's.

I believe their mother "Mama Jolie" is deceased. I feel bad for his sister, Nadine Jolie Courtney née Haobsh. She has obviously worked very hard to establish her career and must be truly heartbroken.

Sources Say Triple Murder Suspect in Doctor's Clinic Prior to Goleta Valley Killings

(from our Santa Barbara station KEYT, sister station to KSBY)

Accused triple murder suspect Pierre Haobsh reportedly came to the medical clinic where Dr. Henry Han worked last week upset and urgently intent on seeing him.

Friday, a large U Haul truck came down that driveway with two members of the Sheriff's department inside, and drove a few blocks away where the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's headquarters is located.

^^Corrections to my earlier post from recollection.

I have placed my responses in bold within your quoted post.

Long day, so let me just blurt out some of my thoughts and mainly the questions running through my own mind and hope they make sense.

They do! Thank you.

I didn't catch that the child had been possibly struck. Terrifying.

I didn't catch it on a first read either. Just awful! Thanks again for your kind comment.

Financial gain, a recent business transaction with Dr. Han, a diabolical plan...what was he after is what I'm waiting to learn.

I too struggle with the points you made, especially this one: Why all 3? And what could he possibly want AT the house?

Guessing from the timeline, he could easily find the mother and child at home alone if it was typical for Dr. Han to arrive there later in the evenings after an extended day at the Clinic. The doctor probably expected to find his daughter bathed and sleeping and his wife relaxing. :-(

It is painful to consider that Dr. Han might have been tortured, physically or emotionally or both. I hope we learn more details soon but it would not surprise me if LE withholds those insofar as the investigation is far from over as reported.

I believe he was caught with a gun stolen from the victim's home. Is that correct? Did he shoot them with their own gun or did he bring his own gun? Odious was a word used...I think DA will go for Death Penalty.

I don't recall reading that the gun was from the home but I well could have missed it.

Apart from the sister attending Cate (was she a boarder?), I wonder what other associations/experiences the Haobsh family had here in the area. How long did Pierre know the doctor? Whatever did he have to offer in a business deal?

Hoping to learn more tomorrow but not expecting all that much at this early stage.

Did you notice that the article mentioned cellophane instead of plastic? I bet it would be that plastic wrap that one can buy for protecting furniture when moving. He came prepared. :-(

http://www.ksby.com/clip/12317007/patients-remember-santa-barbara-doctor-in-triple-homicide

Oh, so... "Dr. Han failed to show up at a conference in Los Angeles Thursday Morning." (video at the 00:25 mark)Wondering if killer may have known about that conference thinking it would buy him time, but still the little girl not showing up to school would be noticed. Now that I know the killer was upset earlier that week at the clinic, I'm more open to seeing his decisions as irrational or just plain stupid. He got caught right away and it's no wonder...lots of stupid decisions.

Lots of stupidity, irrationality - and most of all - a cold cold heart.

I am seeing a mental health defense down the road, based on his reportedly 'odd' behavior at his hometown and also on the need to seek medical attention right after the arrest.

btw, there are many Comments on the local sites re this case. I realize I cannot post nor quote from them here, but they are 'interesting' and worth a read. CAUTION: Such Comments and theories are disturbing.

It's possible someone in the family or circle of friends knew Dr. Han from before and that's how Pierre gained his trust. I know his sister was married in Santa Barbara in 2013. I think the mother died in 2010 or before.
