Am I missing something? The article about the April 30th call to police doesn't mention anything about videos. If there was no mention of the videos, how would police know about them to decide not to view them?

"When questioned by the deputies about reported disturbing videos he had posted on-line, Rodger told them he was having trouble fitting in socially in Isla Vista and the videos were merely a way of expressing himself."

Oh! Thanks JJenny. Is there possible liability here?

Police are pretty much immune from lawsuits. They have to do something totally outrageous to be sued.

And usually those lawsuits are related to civil rights violation. Attempting to sue the police because they failed to protect you is futile. They are not obligated, unless you are in their custody.

Yea, if they beat you, you can sue them. If they failed to protect you from a homicidal maniac, not so much.

The guns he used in the killings last Friday were stashed inside his apartment at the time, but police never searched the residence or conducted a check to determine if he owned firearms because they didn't consider him a threat.

The statement does not explain why the videos were not viewed or whether the deputies knew anything about the contents beyond a description of them being "disturbing."

The sheriff's department also revealed new details about the timeline leading up to the killings. It said Rodger uploaded his final video to YouTube detailing his "Day of Retribution" and stating his plans and reasons for the killings, at 9:17 p.m. on the day of the shootings, May 23. One minute later, he emailed a lengthy written manifesto to his mother, father and therapist that also detailed his plans and contempt for everyone he felt were responsible for his sexual frustrations and overall miserable existence.

The first gunshots were reported at 9:27 p.m. The rampage was over and Rodger dead just eight minutes later.

It was another half hour before the therapist saw the emailed manifesto and 11 more minutes until the sheriff's office was contacted at 10:11 p.m. Authorities contacted Rodger's mother and learned about the manifesto and the "Retribution" video.

I'm not sure what the other videos were that were uploaded on April 30. Whatever they were, the content was concerning enough that someone reported him to the police.

I know that, but can a compounding pharmacy compound it into a time release form so you don't have to take the pills four times a day?

You have to maintain a therapeutic level throughout the day and Xanax isn't water soluble. I don't know of an XR xanax, but I don't do well on extended release meds, they tend to build up and make me feel "toxic".

Whoa, just read the side effects of Xanax XR from the link posted way back...........not EVEN going to entertain the idea of making a switch!

The mom must have known about his violent rants, issues because how in the world did she view his email, 140 page manifesto and his youtube video all in 13 min to conclude danger and call her husband then the cops. Unless she immediately skipped to the last few pages of the manifesto of what he was going to do.

I am very curious what the email said.

New video

despite intial "blame" regarding parents, in a wonderful way, for the first time I ever recall, this victims parents, also want to meet and console ER parents.

I am so glad it is moving this way, they, for years, tried to help their sick child and did anything and everything they could do that night to prevent that tragic night.
