This is written in his manifesto. This really creeped me out.

“I will torture some of the good-looking people before I kill them, assuming that the good looking ones had the best sex lives. All of that pleasure they had in life, I will punish by bringing them pain and suffering. I have lived a life of pain and suffering, and it was time to bring that pain to the people who actually deserved it. I will cut them, flay them, strip all the skin off their flesh, and pour boiling water all over them while they are still alive, as well as any other form of torture I could possibly think of. When they are dead, I will behead them and keep their heads in a bag, for their heads will play a major role in the final phase.”

“Once I reach Del Playa Street, I will dump the heads I had severed from my previous victims, proclaiming to everyone how much I made them all suffer. Once they see all of their friends’ heads roll onto the street, everyone will fear me as the powerful God I am.

Prayers for ER sister Georgia and half brother too. They must be going through hell too.

This might be why it took so long to announce the 3 victims in the apartment. When I read he had a machete, this statement in his writing came to mind. I hope it's not true, for the sake of the victims' poor families.

New video

http://abcnews.go.com/US/santa-barb...er-smiled-shooting-survivor/story?id=23923970

despite intial "blame" regarding parents, in a wonderful way, for the first time I ever recall, this victims parents, also want to meet and console ER parents.

I am so glad it is moving this way, they, for years, tried to help their sick child and did anything and everything they could do that night to prevent that tragic night.

That's an odd takeaway from that video. To each his own, I guess.

This case reminds me of Luka Magnotta and IMO is such a sick mirror of what society has become.Just like Luka Elliot is extremely superficial and narcissistic.Just like Luka he committed this final act to be in the spotlight and to show people how "awesome" he really is.The quiet loner used to be the one writing dark poetry ,not being able to cope with the shallowness of the world but it seems there are more and more loners being the most shallow reflection of society. How sick that this guys thoughts were incapable of going any deeper than having sex with hot blonde girls and how sick that he thought Armani,Gucci and expensive cars will bring him to that goal. But isn't that exactly what society and the media is portraying to young people every day? That these things are the only things that matter. And how many young girls are literally killing themselves by taking drugs, suicide, anorexia because they also believe the only things that matter is to become these blonde hot girls that are wanted by guys? To Elliiot girls weren't anything more than those shiny pokemon cards that he managed to acquire so he couldn't understand why he couldn't get the hot chicks. So tragic, that his thoughts I'm sure are not uncommon.I think we all need to open our eyes and make sure our children understand real values like integrity and empathy and that all this bulls*** the media portrays doesn't matter at all .I also don't understand why the parents are being blamed in this case by so many. They did everything they are supposed to do,which also reflects on society. We take our children to therapists and have them prescribed medication when the ill lies within society as a whole IMO.

I think ER was very street savy and could get any drug he wanted to. I will be very surprised if they don't find multiple drugs in his tox screen. I would bet on some sort of steroids. jmo

Lanza was on absolutely nothing. Not sure about Holmes. However, we know Rodger planned to take Xanax and vicodin, it's in his manifesto.

The steroids I could see getting him pumped to do the deed...
Xanax and Vicodin, not so much. One of those would mellow me out, combine them and I would probably be sleeping or OD'd (depending on the dosage).

Perhaps with his mental illness they would affect him differently?
(Like how Ritalin is said to calm people who need it, but people who don't take it as a stimulant).

Not sure that teaching would work when dealing with an autistic psychopath.

No,I don't mean in his particular case.I 'm not sure anything could have helped him.I'm trying to say that he ,with his mental illness,is an exaggeration and reflection of how "normal" young people think nowadays.Society as a whole has become shallow. Not every young man is mentally ill and ends up a mass murderer but how many "normal" young man share Elliot's values? How many "normal" young man want hot, blonde girls and think expensive cars and clothes are important?

I don't think Xanax had any effect, one way or the other, on this freak's actions. jmo:moo:

The previous case was him making a citizen arrest on his roommate over candle theft. I don't know why that would lead to special treatment.

JMO It might be ER being the son of a famous Hollywood director afforded him special treatment. At least I think that's what OP was saying.

I really don't think the father is that famous. He was an assistant director on one film which did fairly well and director, writer, producer, etc. on one filmed which totally bombed.

I think he was much more successful and probably better known in the international world of commercial photography and advertising. IMO, the mother and father and step-mother are by no means the epitome of the Hollywood elite that some of the media personality / talking heads keep saying.

I was thinking the same.
I realized this when I saw he worked on "The Hunger Games" but NOT the second movie (Catching Fire).
Probably better off then most of us, but in ER's grand scheme, he was not living up to expectations.

They rarely name the "source". I don't buy it unless there's a name.
If these "alleged" threats exist, the media is feeding it.:twocents:

Good point. In that other radaronline article on ER's Xanax, for no apparent reason they published a racist remark from ER's manifesto. What's the point other than to stir up more hate.

Yea, if they beat you, you can sue them. If they failed to protect you from a homicidal maniac, not so much.

The thing is, people seem to not understand what 'rights' are provided by the government. Over and over again, I see "what about my child's right to live?" and "the criminals have rights, but what about us?"

The government guarantees you certain rights that it can control - most of these are things the government cannot do to you. The Constitution (and Court decisions interpreting it) guarantees that the government cannot subject you to cruel and unusual punishment, deprivation of property or liberty without due process, warrantless searches, slavery, discrimination, violation of your free speech and association rights, etc. We all have those rights. They tend to come up more once you've gotten in criminal trouble, but without these rights, a lot of everyday people would be affected by government intrusion.

The government does not guarantee that it will protect you from the actions of others, because it simply can't. It can try harder and do better, but it just can't guarantee it, so it really can't be a right. There is no right in this country to be safe, or to life, or to healthcare, or to a living wage, or to not be a victim of a crime, etc. The government cannot get in trouble for failing to provide these things.

It can be held liable for negligence in failing to comply with what it said it would, such as not following up when they clearly should have. So it's possible there could be a lawsuit against the police department itself, but it's unclear they deviated from established policy.

Obviously, I get why people are frustrated, but I think people misunderstand the role of government in this country, and its practical reach. It was never designed to protect us from other citizens.

^^ this. The "thanks" button was insufficient - I love this post.

“My clients’ mission in life will be to try and prevent any such tragedies from ever happening again. This country, this world needs to address mental illness and the ramifications from not recognizing these illnesses,” Shifman said.

“It is now our responsibility to do everything we can to help avoid this happening to any other family,” their statement said. “Not only to avoid more innocence destroyed, but also to identify and deal with the mental issues that drove our son to do what he did.”
