..... they don't just check the registry without a reason to suspect a crime

they had no reason to search his apt - he had not broken any laws. A lot of folks, i think, are blurring everything into one thing.

On April 30 they had a welfare check, his welfare did not seem in danger in any way, and they left -- its the law,

Legally, there was nothing anyone could do, I get that. Morally, I'm having an incredibly difficult time with the realization.

I think the "logo" with the blood is not ok. Great cause(help the mentally ill), but it looks like a website for a murder movie opening at theatre soon! Tacky------- what if his parents saw this page:
ugh

Tried to go to cached version of :www.puahate.com and even that is gone!

I can't not think of what could have changed had LE been involved in the porch pushing incident. Being charged with attempted murder (?). Defense psychiatrists rallying around to get a proper diagnosis. Things could have been very different. :(

I know this isn't helpful to the discussion. It's just been weighing heavily on my mind.

hERE are the final moments.

Three unique shots at 0.16- 0.19 -

I think sometimes LE is given way too much benefit of the doubt.
Is there a reason to riddle his car - and put 12 bullet holes in the kid?>? (it opens up with 12 straight shots)

Just a quick look at images of the victim:

The stunning aftermath: The officer was cleared!!!!!! So - basically, as what developed on that day - this affirms the following protocol: Well, I am going to let this one speak for itself. Note: The family is suing the officer...

OMG. Is this a joke? Is somebody seriously asking whether police had a reason to shoot at his car?
No, of course not. They should have waited until he shot and kill more people.

I thought he shot himself in the head?

The discussion centered on - since the car has stopped- he is immobile. Cops surrounding - it is at that point - no c itizens around - all have taken cover.

Was he firing back at them? Probably - and that's why the engagement. He did have that 2 gun - blow my brains out plan...

I thought he shot himself in the head?

I thought the killshot hit at 0.19... but there are two prior.

The plan - "I need two guns,,, so I can use both to finish it. Then take Xanax and Vikes just before - thus an OD... as a layaway... he must have a big stash if he thinks it would kill him.

I wonder why the major fear of prison.

If he was actively aiming and shooting - then it's on.

If he is sitting in the car. That's another story.

Why the major fear of prison? As we all know the prisons are so much fun. But he probably figured out they weren't going to allow him to wear his Gucci sunglasses there.

When you say "kill shot" do you mean the shot to his head when he pulled the trigger?

Being gang raped by obnoxious ugly men. He would be good young fresh meat for those big boys.

That's not at all far fetched. He was actually quite pretty looking.

I agree. He kind of looked like the male version of Angelina Jolie.

Abol not! The response is the firing of 39 shots and a car that just crashed--LE I am assuming LE are trained on how to shoot. They couls have hurt so many people eith torrential downpour of bullets flyng all over the place it was excessive, bleeding out of the hip had just smashed into car think there would be some imairment.

bullets ahve to land somewhere they are lucky they did not hurt by standers or people insdie

I was shocked at the battlefeild sound it had like stuff you see in Iraq when 45 enemies are heading to you

That is why ther are investigaing the officers

I take anything their attorney says with a grain of salt. There are huge liability issues. While it is true their son was an adult, they were totally supporting him including providing the apartment and the vehicle he used in his crime spree.

I agree about the attorney. If something can be spun, the attorney will probably spin it.

From Wikipedia:

Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (specifically, the Lanterman–Petris–Short Act or "LPS") which allows a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes him or her a danger to self, a danger to others, and/or gravely disabled. A qualified officer, which includes any California peace officer, as well as any specifically designated county clinician, can request the confinement after signing a written declaration. When used as a term, 5150 (pronounced "fifty-one-fifty") can informally refer to the person being confined or to the declaration itself, or (colloquially) as a verb, as in "I have a possible 5150 here" or "(Someone) was 5150ed".

CALIFORNIA WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS CODE, SECTION 5150, second paragraph, "... an application in writing stating the circumstances under which the person's condition was called to the attention of the officer, member of the attending staff, or professional person, and stating that the officer, member of the attending staff, or professional person has probable cause to believe that the person is, as a result of mental disorder, a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled."

5150 is the code section providing for involuntary commitment.

Calling someone in as actively suicidal would cause a policeman to say he has a possible 5150, but I think it is still a welfare check until the police officer determines a 5150 is needed. Calling someone in because they are acting weird or not responding and you fear they might be in trouble is a welfare check. Then the police officer requests the 5150, calls the ambulance, and takes the person to the hospital, where the doctors agree to approve the 5150 hold or not.

5150 is just the name of the code provision - it is used as shorthand for the involuntary hold, but you don't call in a 5150. Only an officer or doctor can initiate the hold after assessing the situation. A person can't call in that someone needs to be committed - he or she can report behavior that may necessitate a commitment, and the police will go check it out.

Self hatred could appear to be racistwe he even hated biracial males that were the same as him,is that true racism? Alll his room mates were Asian IIRC even the first one who left. I wonder if they had been any other race would he have killed them. He would have hated them but may not of killed them.Stabbing is personal , he could have made a silencer himself for his guns. I never googled for directions but I'm sure they are online. He could have used pillows and played his loud music. Stabbing is a lot more work, messy, he wrote he would kill them then have others come there to kill more people. Was he going to tidy up then call for a pizza kill that person, rinse and repeat all day long. He wanted to kill many more and had a lot of bullets.400 rounds in the car and More in the appt.He also had 3 guns ,but only 2 hands.

I think he still would have stabbed them. He wanted to leave a mess to make his deeds more horrific and, thus, more talked about. He may have intended to lure someone there, but that didn't happen, so it's hard to say at this point WHY he stabbed them. I think he liked the idea of stabbing, at least in theory. It would have been much easier to stab his roommates, who would be in close proximity and behind closed doors, than it would have been to go out and stab random people. By stabbing (and probably mutilating) the men at the apt, then shooting up a sorority house (thwarted), shooting at everyone else he could see, AND running people down with the car, he probably thought he would get more admiration and fearful RESPECT for the Alpha Male that he wanted to be.

What a man (swoon)! He was SO multi-talented!
