Did Vincent Hughes, JH's lawyer, admit here that JH is guilty of the horrific abuse that was done to his 10 week old daughter that he blamed his wife Vanessa for?

“Jake has a criminal past,” Hughes said. “We’re not running from that, but the facts of that case are a lot different than the facts of this case. And one crime doesn’t mean that you’ve committed every other crime known to man, especially to take your own child.”

“They just want their son back, they want people to put in the same effort that they’re using to question them to go out and search for Emmanuel,” Hughes told The Times.'

Jake pled guilty, which was likely a plea deal that got him 4-yr suspended sentence. So of course his attorney will spin that like he saw the error of his ways, was contrite, and promised to be a good boy from this point forward.

Attorney speak can be very annoying, and seems to come from the defense most often for obvious reasons.

Hopefully there will be NO DEALS on this one.

Or just for the cameras?
Whatever the reason, it shows she not living elsewhere but is still in it together. The car is her Moms and they all went back to the house in Cabazon together. Stayed for a bit, then left.

Oh boy, I’m just getting in. Did they get arrested today? No time to read through 20 something pages. Can I get a short cliff note?

They were both arrested for malice murder, LE is saying they still haven't found Emmanuel. But apparently there was evidence of a large amount of blood on the floor in the home.

dbm. someone already posted same info

Wow!! So the rumors that the house lit up were true!! Great news on the arrests! Now where is Emmanuel?

I have a sinking feeling he’s not going to be found. Just like Orrin and Orson West 😔

CA has the death penalty, but they VERY rarely use it. And knowing CA, they may once more claim is it unconstitutional and commute sentences. Last time that happened, those on death row ALSO got chance for parole. Only reason at least one member of the Manson family ever got a parole hearing. And all of them were originally sentenced the death.

make that make sense. But short form, IMO it would take prison justice.

gov newsom's 2019 moratorium on death penalty

Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order today placing a moratorium on the death penalty in California. The executive order also calls for withdrawing California’s lethal injection protocols and immediately closing the execution chamber at San Quentin State Prison. The order does not provide for the release of any individual from prison or otherwise alter any current conviction or sentence.

Go back a few pages and read the posts.

Pbm.
Ugh.

Obviously LE had enough to arrest and charge the pair with malice murder among other charges.

Re. the purple bolded; I seem to recall others who were charged with murder saying that phrase or similar ?
"...I just want them back..."

Megan Boswell and Chris Watts.

I'm at a loss for words.

At her big age she didn’t know how to do due diligence with a man she was getting involved with? I doubt that. I think she knew and didn’t care. People are sure falling for her act.
I do believe someone could be both a victim and a perpetrator. In a case like this, she needs to be punished for her role as perpetrator. I have sympathy for her as a DV victim and zero sympathy for her as a perpetrator.

NOooooo ... but thanks for asking :D
No, thank you! Seriously 😉 thank you! He had a lot of “interesting” things to say today. More than usual. 🙄

Do we even know for sure she's a victim of DV? Just wondering.

I noticed LE didn’t do the usual “protect the perp’s head” move with either of them when putting them in vehicles. I can only imagine their thoughts about these two horrible excuses for parents.
I just told my mom that the main reason I could never be a police officer is that I wouldn't be able to contain my rage when dealing with people I knew did terrible things. The restraint required would just be too much for me.

And I will never, ever understand why people don't consider adoption as a viable option when they simply don't have the patience and good judgment required to be a parent. I am so sick of cases where innocent little ones are killed by the people who should be protecting them.

I think the only evidence of it is the black eye. And to be fair, we don't know how how the actually happened.

I didn't expect blood, tbh, especially a large amount. I thought shaken baby or something like that.

I guess that's the evidence they used to charge murder. imo

This little guy captured my heart and I'm so sad he spent his life hurt by the people supposed to take care of him. Seven months is such a fun age - usually the babies are happy, eager, with personalities starting to show.

I’ve wondered if it’s both — Shaken baby syndrome at the hands of the father “ruined” the son she always wanted. Then they didn’t want to keep caring for him in his disabled state, and other options would have brought the prior injuries to light. That’s the premeditated scenario I see being plausible involving both.

The scenario previously thought most likely — dad’s frustration/anger got out of control and mom agreed to help cover it up — is now seeming less likely with the no-body murder with malice charges against both. It’s theoretically possible they could be doing it as a strategy to get one to flip on the other, but that strategy is an abuse of the system if they don’t have the evidence to back up the charges. Usually you’ll see them bringing lesser charges while building their case if that’s the scenario (see the sad and frustrating Madalina Cojocari case…where that strategy ultimately failed).

i wonder if enough people were truly serious about the application of the death penalty in this case... there could be an active drive to beg or demand governor newsom lift his moratorium. just this once... for this child's killer/s. oh nevermind, no one is that serious about the dp in this case.
