JH willful child cruelty and violation, not sure if they have been posted. I reviewed for minor names I do not believe she is there but please alert me if I missed and I’ll color out and repost

Thank you, TMich, for posting his record for that conviction. I was positive I heard he only served 1 day and there it is in black and white. MSM keeps reporting he served 180 days but he did not. He was sentenced to 180 days , 179 days on work release.

That is even a worse tragedy than only 6 months in jail !

I hope that some day the interrogation details come out. I am betting that she will turn on him to get a lesser sentence, herself.

The initial police-released report of him missing is already showing lack of details. How did he just go "missing" from a parking lot. Nothing about whether he was left in the car or snatched from a shopping cart - IOW, it didn't happen. LE knew right away, I'm sure.

The sentencing of this horrible man was so weak as to be non-existent. Mind-boggling. Even in California.

IMO

I was wondering if the fact that he was booked 5 hours later than her meant that he was talking to the police and maybe he has already tried to throw her under the bus.

Possible, but I think booking is basically first come first served. If there were others that came in ahead of him and ahead of him in the booking process, it could have just been that.

I don't care if either of them try and make a deal, I don't want either of them to get any less of a sentence than the law allows for murdering that sweet little boy. Neither of them deserve the slightest "deal" at all.

There was a story provided -- that mom was changing his diaper in the car and someone came up and knocked her out and stole the baby. But it raised a lot of questions right away (because it was made up).

I suspect it was mostly because the men's side of that jail is far busier than the women's, so it was line up and wait.

From the get-go, I could see how fake their behavior was - I’m sure 99.99999% of the public knew that. It sickens me watching them acting distraught. I am so relieved they have been arrested and I pray they never see the light of day again.

To add: I’ve held the opinion that poor Emmanuel just didn’t look right. Now the question I have is was there a disability present at birth and the parents could not/would not seek appropriate care, or was he continually abused which caused injuries/disability and therefore no medical care? Again, my opinion is that there appeared to me that something was wrong with him.

Snipped from your post.

I Have been on the same page as you in reference to Emmanual’s appearance, from day one.

At first, I assumed his condition was from birth. Now, I lean strongly toward JH inflicting abuse on him that caused Emmanuel's issues.

Maybe that also explains the father's emphasis on him being "healthy." Perhaps he was indeed born healthy, but then went home from the hospital with abuser(s).

" 'Based on the evidence,
investigators determined a kidnapping in Yucaipa did not occur.
It is believed Emmanuel is deceased, and the search to recover his remains is ongoing',
Sheriff Shannon D. Dicus said in a statement.

Police raided the home after arriving at the home in tanks and cruisers
before taking them at Riverside County jail without bail."

WHO was that judge??

WHO was that judge??
Not knowing anything about the 10-week's old case other than what we've discussed here, is the issue the judge or the LAW?

What laws were cited in the conviction and sentencing? That's where to start, imo. (But likely off topic for this thread?)

I saw a video from one of Emmanuel's aunts and she said he has a lazy eye. I'm pretty sure the site I saw it on is not allowed. Personally I have my suspicions. He has such sad eyes. We have all seen that look in the eyes of other children on Websleluths. JMO

At one time, I did feel sympathy for Rebecca, thinking she was suffering DV and was a victim also. But as I watch this unfold, I'm not so sympathetic anymore.

If she truly was a victim, wouldn't she have asked for protection and broke down by now? Watching them walk out of that interview (she was wearinga white shirt) a few days ago, holding hands with Jake. Sort of killed it for me. Now I feel she's sticking with him because she too is culpable in Emmanuel's death.

Time will tell ...
I would like to see them tried separately because a juror or jurors may have reasonable doubt about her and refuse to find both guilty. I would like for him to be tried first and her second.

Emmanuel's sad little face really gets to me.

Honestly it happens all the time. I watch arraignment court on YT for my area. I cannot tell you how often I see judges releasing prisoners that I don't think should be allowed out. "I'm going to release you" "Do you promise to appear at your next court hearing?" Some with bond and some without. It is soooooo scary. DV WITH injuries. S** Abuse of a child. Doesn't seem to matter.

Part of this is because we as a society have set most state laws to allow parents to have corporal punishment which is far too flexible in most states. So the foundational child abuse bar already allows a certain level of physical consequence/beating without legal consequence. Which means the next bar of legal consequence is set to a next extreme level

Maybe a better way to say this is that we are allowed to physically discipline our kids with hitting, sometimes in some states even with objects. We aren’t allowed to hit other people for any reason.

IMO and all that

Edited - Not saying that his consequence was okay because it wasn’t but comparing how we are allowed to treat our kids vs others doesn’t easily align with laws
It is ridiculous. And how can anyone justify 'punishment' for an infant? It makes no sense at all.

Or a toddler? That is just sick, lazy parenting to use corporal punishment on a baby or a toddler, who really cannot 'be bad' intentionally, nor can they benefit in any way from being hit by the persons they love the most.

YES. I watch Court Cam sometimes. First, they show the video and news report of the crime. You see someone driving recklessly at high speed, going the wrong way on a highway, trying to evade police, and when stopped they have drugs or stolen handguns. and they resist violently, need 4 officers to detain them----then they show the court appearance 6 months later----the judge usually drops most of the charges and ends up with something bland like 'evading police'. No jail time, pay $300 fine, license temporarily suspended, The End.

I see that over and over. You watch what happens in real time and it is egregious---then in court it is dressed down to vanilla----with little consequences.

And the problem with that is the next time they are arrested, the previous record looks vanilla, nothing serious. So the 'slap on the wrist' type punishment just continues.

My own opinion, is that Emmanuel looks like a victim of ongoing abuse. Especially when compared to the picture posted earlier by
@anyoldtime48 . Emmanuel looked animated, with muscle tone, and hand eye coordination. He was maybe 2 months in that picture. Later pictures show lack of purposeful gaze, looked like cortical brain damage to me from "Shaken Baby Syndrome".

Of course, we would need full retinal scans for verification. Having worked with many children and infants with visual impairment, it is difficult to make any sort of actual assessment that is clinical, without complete "hands on assessment" and complete medical file review, plus the pictures we have are so limited. That, in and of itself, is suspect.

But, Emmanuel definitely does not appear to be a normally developed 7 month old by the limited pictures we have seen. MOO.
