YES. I watch Court Cam sometimes. First, they show the video and news report of the crime. You see someone driving recklessly at high speed, going the wrong way on a highway, trying to evade police, and when stopped they have drugs or stolen handguns. and they resist violently, need 4 officers to detain them----then they show the court appearance 6 months later----the judge usually drops most of the charges and ends up with something bland like 'evading police'. No jail time, pay $300 fine, license temporarily suspended, The End.

I see that over and over. You watch what happens in real time and it is egregious---then in court it is dressed down to vanilla----with little consequences.

And the problem with that is the next time they are arrested, the previous record looks vanilla, nothing serious. So the 'slap on the wrist' type punishment just continues.

I hope something changes soon. We need new minimums especially for child abuse. If the judges won't do it, maybe new laws. IMO

Thank you for raising this point. Because given Jake’s past history of extreme abuse. I question whether Emmanuel was injured as a very young infant - like his sister.

I doubt there will be any medical history. He knew what happened when he took his 10 week old to the hospital----they found previous fractures and injuries and charged him with abuse.

I don't think Baby E went anywhere near the doctors office.

Honestly it happens all the time. I watch arraignment court on YT for my area. I cannot tell you how often I see judges releasing prisoners that I don't think should be allowed out. "I'm going to release you" "Do you promise to appear at your next court hearing?" Some with bond and some without. It is soooooo scary. DV WITH injuries. S** Abuse of a child. Doesn't seem to matter.

Add rape to that list. I just watched a judge become upset with a prosecutor after hearing the victim's statement but as soon as he thought the victim signed off of zoom, he gave the defendant 10 days in jail (he let the victim think it would be 30 days) so the rapist wouldn't lose his job.

Probably the two year old did not go to the doctor regularly either. Thank goodness she is safe now.

My own opinion, is that Emmanuel looks like a victim of ongoing abuse. Especially when compared to the picture posted earlier by
@anyoldtime48 . Emmanuel looked animated, with muscle tone, and hand eye coordination. He was maybe 2 months in that picture. Later pictures show lack of purposeful gaze, looked like cortical brain damage to me from "Shaken Baby Syndrome".

Of course, we would need full retinal scans for verification. Having worked with many children and infants with visual impairment, it is difficult to make any sort of actual assessment that is clinical, without complete "hands on assessment" and complete medical file review, plus the pictures we have are so limited. That, in and of itself, is suspect.

But, Emmanuel definitely does not appear to be a normally developed 7 month old by the limited pictures we have seen. MOO.

I guess all the more reason neither of those two "parents" are going to speak up about where he is. I wonder what the prosecution could use to get one of them to talk. Moratorium on DP in California right now. Rock and hard place.

Right now, just being in prison for 20 to life for both, would be a "win".

This is part of the reason I’m very curious about when they moved to Ramona Avenue in Cabazon. Was that intentional? Move away from people who might pop in to say Hi unexpectedly?

What laws were cited in the conviction and sentencing? That's where to start, imo. (But likely off topic for this thread?)

post ? I see in the above post, @anyoldtime48 posted one ? Are you still around @anyoldtime48 to repost that. The only photo I have seen of Emmanuel, his one eye appears like he is already deceased, it is that haunting lifeless eye is the only photo of that poor baby I’ve seen. Thanks.

Thank you, TMich, for posting his record for that conviction. I was positive I heard he only served 1 day and there it is in black and white. MSM keeps reporting he served 180 days but he did not. He was sentenced to 180 days , 179 days on work release.

That is even a worse tragedy than only 6 months in jail !

i wonder how california prosecutors and judges earn their salaries. hmmm... i wonder who pays for this lack of justice in california.

obviously. children are paying with their lives.

out on work release. he wasn't working to pay any restitution... he just received money to spend on x-boxes and important things like that.

Yes, I'm curious about the timeline going back at least a year.

Specifically, though, I'd like to know when someone last saw little Emmanuel and why they picked the day they did to stage the fake kidnapping. And, I'd like a timeline for the days (weeks?) between his death and the fake kidnapping. What were they doing?!

I'm guessing we'll have to wait for the trail to learn that info.

She doesn't mention if it was from birth. She says according to the doctor he is late in development but otherwise in great health and is fine. He just has a lazy eye.

My hopes are that RH will be offered a deal against JH. And also tell the location of Emmanuel.

I hope that if indeed RH is offered a deal, telling them where Emmanuel is will be a condition of the deal.
