MOO or maybe dad was angry at Emmanuel's health condition(s) and wanted a son who would be more like his football-playing sons?
What do you mean by "health conditions"? Maybe I've missed it, but the only thing about his health that I saw mentioned was the strabismus.

I suspect it was video evidence of her somewhere sporting a big ole shiner days before the alleged abduction, or video of one or both of the parents casing the Big 5 parking lot to determine there were no cameras so the right parking spot could be selected on the big day.

Same thought on cameras, i read an article that i cant find now that said there were no cameras there.

I will look too for confirmation that there weren't cameras. Searching it out may be difficult because mom made such a point of making the lack of cameras a part of her narrative. I can't recall if I've seen LE confirming that lack.

Some times when i put an address in maps it will allow me to do streetview, not with this addy, 34579 yucaipa blvd.

Everything about the mom's story is fishy. Also, the fact that she's speaking in the past tense is fishy. I'm not really adding anything new to this conversation, just agreeing with everyone else who found her story suspicious. Also, blaming a mysterious Mexican assailant is giving Sherri Papini (or I guess Susan Smith) vibes. Obviously, it's too early to draw any conclusions, but I don't think it's surprising that so many people think this case is fishy.

all I can find that isn't RH's statement about lack of cameras is this:

It's unknown if there were security cameras in the parking lot that captured the alleged kidnapping. At this point, deputies have not put out a description for a potential suspect.
Yucaipa community comes together for vigil for missing 7-month-old boy after 'inconsistencies' found

where mom's statement was:

Nobody saw nothing, there’s no camera’s here, there’s no lighting.”

meanwhile, a stroll around the parking lot shows adequate lighting. I wonder if the area she parked had lighting that wasn't functioning (you know, coincidentally)

hoping this link works for you. I walked the lot in street view.

Street View · Google Maps

eta sorry link didn't work to get you where I am :( try going into street view on 34000 block and then "walking" into the lot.

Yeah, who told her/how did she glean the information that there are no cameras?

When she says she ran into the Big 5 lickety-split, did she overtly ask someone? ... or did it happen with discussion with some member of LE after the fact?

At least police have been confronting the mother about the inconsistencies in her statement...I have such a sick feeling in my stomach about this case but I hope we get some answers soon.

I'm of the opinion that it will end up being the parent(s). But one thing I thought was strange is, the Dad wearing a hoodie in those interviews. Is it cold enough to wear a hoodie there? Just struck me as odd.

Father of toddler missing in California has felony child cruelty conviction

As new details emerge in the case of an allegedly kidnapped 7-month-old boy in San Bernardino County, authorities have reportedly taken the couple’s 2-year-old, searched the home with cadaver dogs, while an independent group devoted to finding missing kids has withdrawn its offered reward and suspended its search efforts.

On Aug. 14, Rebecca Haro, the boy’s mother, initially told investigators that she left her husband, Jake Mitchell Haro, and their other two children at a local park where one of the boys was having football practice to go purchase a mouthguard for him.

“I came over here and parked right on the edge,” she told KTLA. “When I was driving over, I smelled the baby had went to the restroom, so I said, ‘Don’t worry, we are going to change you.’”
Yikes. Things are not looking good. :( I'm glad that the authorities are moving quickly on this and that the 2-year-old is no longer in what appears to be a dangerous situation. The child cruelty conviction makes me wonder if there is also DV involved in this case. Could that be where the mother got her black eye? It isn't unheard of for victims of DV to cover for their abusers, even when the abuser has harmed their children unfortunately.

It's high 90's/low 100's in Cabazon this week. Oddly, folks do wear hoodies in those temps.

Yeah, because a woman alone in the evening with a baby parks were there is no lighting. A mom who needs to change a diaper does so where there is no lighting.

Not.

Yeah, the danger of being a woman in a poorly lit area aside, who CHANGES A DIRTY DIAPER IN THE DARK? How would she even know if she'd managed to get all of the poo wiped off in the dark? That does not add up.

To believe her story we would have to assume that she has zero common sense.

It couldn't be that dark at 7:30PM in august.

Sunset in Yucaipa is supposed to be at 7:31pm today, so maybe it was kind of dark? That's a good point though.

Agreed ! ^^^

Like I said before, it's not unheard of for a perp to ambush someone to try to steal their car, but to try to grab someone's baby is highly unusual.

Maybe in a custody battle, but a complete stranger who says 'hola' aka 'hello'-- first before attacking you to take your infant ?
As soon as she turned to acknowledge the greeting, she could've identified the person; so why would they even take that risk.

Haven't heard yet if she heard a man or woman's voice.
Maybe that's b/c no one said anything of the sort that day ??
Hmmm.

Hoping for a break in this case soon !
Imo.
