So the attorney only represents Jake. He can't and won't speak for Rebecca. And the kidnapping is alleged. I see this as Jake distancing himself from Rebecca and her report of kidnapping via his attorney. Won't be long now, JMO, until they turn on one another. Jake is the more experienced with the legal system thanks to his previous charges of infant abuse. He attempted to shift all blame for that on his then wife.

Rebecca needs to talk, and soon, or Jake is going to hang this all on her.
I'm not ready to paint her as a victim in this situation just yet. It's perfectly possible even with his criminal history that she did something to Emmanuel. Even though she doesn't have a criminal history, her ex-husband, with whom she has the two adult daughters, didn't even know that she was remarried with a new set of kids. That leads one to believe that she's not in contact with her adult daughters, which makes me wonder why.

In the case with the 10-week old, he and the wife blamed each other. And they both pleaded guilty.

She could have safely walked into that big5 store and said “my husband wants me to pretend to have my baby kidnapped but he already killed him please help me call the police”

She did not. I don’t believe she wasn’t involved anyway but that’s not what she did

I dont think we are calling her a victim , we are concerned about a person we dont like very much?
I dont think it impacts us enough to cloud our perception , we are not that sympathetic towards her , I think being aware of the danger and we do know she is a 🤬🤬🤬. She is in ,is kinda note worthy.

Can you please share the link to this info?
If you go to post number 870, there are pictures and if you click on the bottom picture it is a Twitter link that shows a picture of two people walking away and it says that they were the ones that were spotted starting the fire. I can't vouch for the veracity of the picture but it is there in that post.

I'm sorry, I don't necessarily think she's in danger.

ETA: I guess if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm actually not concerned if she is in danger. I mean, I haven't seen anything that shows that he is a threat to adults. One can say, if he would injure a child he would injure an adult, but that's not really true. It happens all the time the people abuse their children but not their spouses. Maybe I'm a terrible person, but I am not concerned about her safety regardless of the situation.

True! And, she didn't have to drive to the Big 5 store at all. She had control of the car and could've driven to the police station.

But she did not.

He could; but no police investigator worth their salt is going to accept that in someone of Jake's background without doing some deep questioning of him; and maybe not even then.
The problem in this case is the difference between knowing the truth and proving it.
I suspect he knows that, and that's the reason she was the one to drive to Big 5 and then call 911.
All the while he sat there at the ball field with the other kids.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department says Jake Haro's vehicle was seized for evidence amid the investigation. He is cooperating with law enforcement and investigators, his attorney said in a statement.

At this point, deputies have not put out a description for a potential suspect.

Over the weekend, detectives also searched the parents' Cabazon home with K-9 units. A fire broke out Tuesday at a house on the same block where the Haros live. Authorities say the fire's proximity to the Haros' residence appears to be a coincidence.

Jake's attorney speaks

interesting to me that Jake's attorney said - "they haven't had their vehicles since Thursday night, when the ALLEGED kidnapping happened"
Complete 9 min interview with JH's lawyer Vincent Hughes.
Hughes isn't doing his client any favors in this interview BUT I can't believe this is the lawyer who got JH a slap on the wrist plea deal for almost killing his daughter and leaving her brain damaged for life.
How in hell VH keeps a straight face is something else.
imo

Do you think her black eye was self-inflicted? Some do.

I'm thinking she got it from the man she is now stuck at home with in a stressful situation - and the man is a convicted abuser.

Wondering about her safety is just being realistic, imo.

Exactly. And she has the bruises and he has the history so very much would have been believed

Not to me but I’m going to give my unwelcome 2 lol
I think the black was from him. Given the drug use in the family. Alcohol related things. Violence in all of the family. I think everyone probably beat the crap out of each other. Sometimes that’s the “norm” of families

Would love a definitive date of when he was last seen too

Ugh. I had to stop listening. The lawyer is putting the public and Banfield on the defense within seconds. I cannot stand that tactic. I've lived with it, recognize it, reject it.

Relatives and friends in jail for murder, or overdosing on drugs. Everyday normal to beat the cr&p out of babies and small children, and probably women too?
I’m kinda surprised they even bothered to report Baby E missing.

The fact that we have no established date that Emmanuel was last seen makes me suspect he died prior to this kidnapping story. Me thinks something happened at home and the kidnapping was fabricated to cover it up. I don't even think I've seen grandma comment on the last time she saw him.

Neither of them seem to be great parents. Jake abused a 10 week old baby and those two children were adopted by family. Rebecca seems to have abandoned her 2 (now adult) daughters with her ex-husband. If Emmanuel was special needs (either because of genetics or prior abuse) I'm not sure either of these parents had the ability to care for him.

All JMO.

I’ve wondered why they did also. There has to have been a reason or they wouldn’t have

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he's been gone for a while and it just came to a head for some reason, that they thought people were going to figure it out so they had to make a move. I would even be willing to believe that they concocted the kidnapping story and he gave her the black eye on purpose to try to sell it better.

Even though she doesn't have a criminal history, her ex-husband, with whom she has the two adult daughters, didn't even know that she was remarried with a new set of kids. That leads one to believe that she's not in contact with her adult daughters
Frankly, this is quite a bold assumption. His ex-husband (from many years ago by the sound of it) does not know her current private life, so she must have done something bad to her now-adult daughters?

It is simply possible the mentioned ex-husband is not in contact with the kids nor ex-wife any more (very common, especially if he is in a new relationship). It is possible none of them are in contact for whatever reason. It is possible, that they are both in contact with the kids, but in these interactions they don't talk about the other parent at all, because there is no need and it is easier this way. It is possible, that they just don't share the private and romantic lives of their ex-spouses, as this is quite likely to be uncomfortable. And it is also possible the ex-husband was not (fully) truthful for whatever reason (such as distancing himself).

And if she is indeed in minimal contact with her daughters, that might hint at isolation as well, a common ingredient in DV.

Too many possibilities IMO.

I haven't heard or read anything about drugs in the Haro family.
