Hi @Niner I believe Baker is back on the stand when trial resumes. Prosecutor had just begun when court ended Friday.

It’s crazy to me that Baker has read transcripts and possibly watched previous testimony because he seems so unprepared on cross. Like he had to know the State had evidence about the burner phones purchase in Victorville and that they used the phones to communicate with each other while she was in Canada. So why lie about when you gave her the phone and let the State prove to the jury that you’re a liar? Same thing with the WhatsApp data. He had to know they had that information. Is he genuinely this clueless and unprepared about what to expect from the State or he is just using the hope and pray method? I’m going to lie about it and hope and pray she doesn’t call me on it?

I believe it is Baker's intent to not provide any useful information in his testimony.. He is being intentionally vague imo.

I agree. I believe he’s being intentionally vague on most things, but there are other things that he’s flat out lying about. For example, he said he “wasn’t sure when he downloaded WhatsApp” but says he only downloaded it because he saw Monica using it ALL THE TIME and hoped he might be able to communicate with her on there. But when the prosecution presents him with evidence that shows Monica actually didn’t register an account on the app until a day AFTER he did, he acts like he’s all confused and says “something’s not right.”

If his intention is to help Monica with these answers, he’s done a very poor job so far. I wonder how much time he’s spent being coached by attorneys this weekend. It will be interesting to see if his questioning under cross improves any.

Instead of all the videos - I finally found an article - I believe this is for Friday.

Thanks @Niner. Interesting information in the article you posted. Here are a few items to ponder - a). How did Baker get the instructions for the dvr? And b) which one, Baker or Monica, says not to talk? I hope all this and more are emphasized in court.

[…]

As the death investigation continued, detectives noticed the killers had removed the home’s video recording system, which wasn’t easily found. As investigators tied the widow and the former 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star together, a forensic technology expert testified that he recovered instructions to Baker on how to access the home security DVR.

[…]

After detectives pulled the pair over in Monica Sementilli’s black Mustang, with Baker at the wheel, officers placed them in the back of a police car together. The video recording system captured Monica allegedly telling Baker, “Deny everything and don’t talk.”

Thanks for finding this informative article, @Niner. I was surprised I got to read it. Usually, now days, LA Times won't let me read articles because I exceeded my free ones and won't subscribe. It gave me lots to think about.

And b) which one, Baker or Monica, says not to talk? I hope all this and more comes out in court if it hasn’t already.

Definitely wounds like Monica said it. Boy, does that implicate her... well, to me, pretty much everything implicates her as being involved. If she said that, how would Jurors not think she was orchestrating knowingly.

@TwinkieDefense, why did they have to use that recording system? Couldn't they have disconnected it beforehand? Did Monica really set-up her daughter to find Fabio? I have holes in my understanding, and some parts of the trial I didn't catch. IMO, she's just as bad, no she's really worse than Baker. Cold selfish heartless puss face.

Good questions @Curious Me. I don’t know why they’d remove the dvr system either. Based on what I’ve seen so far I can’t put it past the defendant to set up the daughter the same as she did her husband. Sounds to me like she knew time and location for both of them. What I really wonder too is why Baker is still protecting her after all these years. What does he have to gain? I presume they won’t be next door neighbors if she is convicted.

It stinks when cross is cut off on a Friday because it gives him the weekend to practice his testimony.

I believe the system guy said that Fabio had it on his phone as well (even though he never accessed it from there), so had it been disconnected, he'd probably get an alert and she wouldn't have been able to explain why the system needed to be off.

*waves to Chelly* :)

Yes, for some reason he still wants to 'save' her.

🤣! rbbm.
''The pair went to swingers’ parties and engaged in group sex with other men and women.

Following the murder, he admitted that Monica sent him raunchy nudes of herself with her wedding ring still on her finger.''

''Baker noted: “Everyone grieves differently.”
