I’ve been watching this out of order because I started late. Once Baker came on, I moved ahead and now I’m back catching up. All this to say, I’m not sure when I heard this…….may have been the second time Austin testified (?). I thought he said while Baker was “dating” Monica, he had another side piece like he always did. I really wanted cameras to show her face when he said that!

Yes, they definitely asked Baker about this!

Paraphrasing the DA—

“Didn’t it seem odd to you when Monica sent you pictures and/or video of herself [insert incredibly graphic and sexually explicit content] with her wedding ring clearly visible during Fabio’s funeral?”

Baker’s ACTUAL RESPONSE —

“People grieve in different ways.”
🤯

I could feel the courtroom cringe through the screen when he said that.

But about the other men — they showed a photo of Baker, Monica, and another man in Las Vegas or Myrtle Beach (can’t remember which) and it was clear all three were naked at the time.

So while the trial is on hiatus for a few days, I have went back and rewatched some testimony. One thing that I keep wondering is what Monica might have been doing during the 10 or 11 minutes after being seen walking out of Ralph's on the day of the murder. The trip to her house was only 2 minutes away. And the Porsche was seen going past the Ralphs. Could she have followed and picked up Rob and dropped him off closer to his apartment or to where the other car was parked? Did she have time to do that? Or was she just sitting in the parking lot waiting around to make sure her daughter got home before she did?

Good points to mull over. I haven’t caught up to that day yet. I hope they are able to nail her with hard evidence.

It bothers me that the judge had to change his schedule for the week. It gives the defence time to prepare for what the current obstacles are. It’s an unfair advantage in my opinion.

I’m listening again to Baker’s testimony. I really hope the jury can make a list of the things that don’t make any sense if she was not involved. Ie. the Whats App/Viber timing, sexting, Vegas, Target etc.

All of those things combined are very telling, but I I’m concerned the jury will just think he’s such a loser, she never give up her pretty good life for him. And Fabio traveled a lot, so it’s not like she could not ever see Baker.

I'm hoping even if they think it could be possible that Baker was obsessed and stalking Monica and she had no clue he was going to murder her husband, that they pay close attention to her behavior after they were arrested.

And I also hope they were watching her closely as he testified. I never once seen her show any anger towards him while he was on the stand. To not feel anger towards the man who not only brutally murdered your husband, but also betrayed you, by being a wolf in sheep's clothing is just not normal.

eta .. I think she was in it from the beginning. moo

Correct. She never looks sad (except with her overly fake frown, which is disturbing) or even shame. She could be innocent (but she’s not) and still be shameful that her affair ended up with her husband’s murder. But nothing…

Hopefully they noticed that her hair was clean and that she had makeup on for the 5 days that he testified.

She didn’t look down or write anything like she does on most days. She wanted to see him and she wanted to look her best for him. So gross.

I was watching the trial on Court TV (youtube) and suddenly it all went poof! Does anyone know what happened or when the trial will resume?

Trial continues tomorrow, Friday, 3/28. Judge had to have a few days off...

Friday, March 28th:
*Trial continues (Day 37) (@ 8:30am PT) – CA – Fabio Sementilli (49) (Jan. 23, 2017, Los Angeles) – *Monica Sonia Crescentini Sementilli (45/now 53) (wife) arrested (8/18/17), indicted (8/31/17), charged (8/18/17) & arraigned (8/31/17) with capital murder with special circumstances of murder for financial gain & conspiracy to commit murder. Plead not guilty. Held without bond. DA will not seek DP. LA County
Jury Selection began on 1/21/25 & ended 1/22/25. No info on jurors. Juror #2 was replaced by an alternate on 3/19/25. Juror #2 [new one] was replaced by an alternate on 3/20/25.
Trial began on 1/24/25 & on 3/12/25 Prosecutors rested their case. Defense began their case on 3/12/25. Dark on Fridays (sometimes).
Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Coen. Deputy DA Heather Steggell & Deputy DA Beth Silverman. Defense attorneys Leonard Levine & Blair Berk.

3/21/25 Friday, Trial Day 36: Defense witnesses: Christopher Austin recalled by the defense & played the tape of his proffer agreement. Jason Rubin, Forensic CPA. Trial continues on Friday, 3/28/25.
*Christopher Austin (38/now 39) – Plead guilty on 1/17/25. Sentencing hearing on 4/30/25.
*Robert Louis Baker (55/now 62) (wife’s BF) plead no contest/guilty on 7/7/23 & sentenced to life without parole.

I just went back and listened to the end of day 35 and the judge told the jury that they are now taking their adjournment as far as the jury is concerned until April 1st. Then the camera cuts off so we don't get to hear why. :(

I know .. I was disappointed too. Thought for sure we would get to hear some more testimony today.
