I was wondering the same thing. Then again leave to the defense to bring this up. Is it a court issue that she did this? It isn't Jane Doe #1 herself creating the . I hate anyway. jmo

A Carlsbad woman who accused Kellen Winslow, Jr. of a sex crime while they were sitting in the same gym hot tub took the stand for a second day Thursday.

The former NFL player and son of Chargers great Kellen Winslow, is accused of raping or sexually assaulting five women in separate incidents ranging from May 2018 to earlier this year.

The woman identified in court as Jane Doe 5 said she was in the hot tub at the Crunch fitness location on Feb. 22 when a man came out of the men's locker room wearing only a towel often used by patrons to wipe down machines.

“He came and sat right by my side,” she said. Winslow allegedly sat about 18 inches away from her. “I couldn’t do anything. I guess when you’re so afraid you just kind of frozen. You can’t move, you can’t do anything. I’m just sitting there.”

The 35-year-old is standing trial on 12 charges, including seven felonies for the alleged rape of three women and indecent incidents involving two others. He has pleaded not guilty to all.

Alleged victims, corroborating witnesses and stories of perverse behavior have left Winslow facing an uphill battle to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison. While his attorneys have chipped away at the credibility of the accusers and pointed out various inconsistencies in their stories, the totality of the charges and the deviant nature of his acts leave him facing a critical question.

I was able to watch Jane Doe #4 and #5.

#5-The 78 year old woman- bless her heart, how devastating for her, she seemed very traumatized by what happened . I wasn't particularly pleased with the heartless defense attorney trying to trip her up. She stood her ground and never wavered during her testimony- very courageous- I love it!!

I wonder what his parents and family think about him going after a 78 year old woman!!

I didn't understand the towel on KW's ankle in the hot tub, then I figured he was out on bail and was trying to hide the GPS ankle monitor.

#4- very emotional testimony- I believe her. Is this guy Matt going to testify?

WTH.. is KW writing a book! Why is he always picking at his face... He disgusts me.

He has been doing this for awhile and still continued to be a sexual predator even after he was caught!!

Again, they should of Never put Doe #1 on the stand, especially with the problems they are now facing with the daughter's public post. I think they had enough evidence in order to convict without Jane Doe #1 testimony. She continuously lied on the stand. I am afraid what the jury is thinking because of her testimony.

I agree with you about Jane Doe #1 and why they put her daughter on the stand. I am not sure they gained anything by putting her on the stand.

I think it does show his pattern though of SA. As far as putting Matt on the stand I don't really know.

I think with other witnesses he with be convicted! imo

I love this judge also! He keeps things flowing and doesn't like the defense trying to delay the trial. jmo

I watched some of Jane Doe #4 and the daughter of Jane Doe #1. The daughter was a believable witness but I don't think she did much salvage the problems with her mother's testimony. It was actually very sad to me. The daughter said she had no idea that her mother had been a witness in the trial until she saw a news clip last week and that when she talked to her mother about it, her mother denied that it was her who testified. Very sad situation. It highlighted to me that people like #1 are very vulnerable and easy targets. I thought Jane Doe #4 was a good witness. She conceded some things (consensual sex with Winslow on one occasion until someone else showed up to watch) which made her credible. What I don't understand was how it was that she passed out prior to the alleged assault by Winslow. She said she drank 2 or 3 beers before she ran into Winslow and that that amount would not make her pass out. She also conceded that nothing was slipped into the beers. So that part is strange.

Well, when something is SLIPPED into your drink, you wouldn't know about it. I suspect that is exactly what happened. JMO

Yes, possible. But she said she drank nothing after she met up with Winslow that night. Drank nothing. Ate nothing.

When I learned today that the daughter created the GoFundMe the night before she first testified, that gave me pause. Not good. But I keep coming back to the fact that JD#1 went to LE first-- before JD#2, who described a very similar interaction with Winslow. Same MO according to JD#1 and #2. JMO.

Was there a stipulation from the nurse who testified that said JD#1 told her the sex was consensual? I don't know if I heard that correctly. If so, it makes it so hard to believe her. Too many lies. Moo

I could be wrong but I don't think so. I too think there is reasonable doubt in the legal sense re JD#1. But I don't believe in coincidences -- JD# 1 and #2 with similar stories of interactions with Winslow. JMO.
