VISTA, Calif. — The defense team for Kellen Winslow II rested its case here Monday after the former NFL star made a strategic decision to plead the Fifth Amendment and not testify against himself in a rape trial that could send him to prison for the rest of his life.

Winslow, 35, announced the decision early Monday, before the jury entered the court.

I could be wrong but I don't think so. I too think there is reasonable doubt in the legal sense re JD#1. But I don't believe in coincidences -- JD# 1 and #2 with similar stories of interactions with Winslow. JMO.

I was confused. The stipulation was with Doe#2 that she had consensual sex days before the assault...(not w/Kellen)

Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was reportedly arrested in San Diego on Thursday and is facing nine charges, including kidnapping with intent to commit rape and forcible rape.

According to TMZ Sports, Winslow will be charged with two counts of kidnapping with intent to commit rape, two counts of forcible rape, two counts of residential burglary, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of forcible oral copulation and one count of indecent exposure.

I agree, he is a dangerous person! I can't call him a man, cause no real man would act this way or do these things. imo

On court TV live it was reported that his dad is in the courtroom. No word on the wife. His father will always be haunted by his crimes by having the same name on a google search.

I thought Dan Owens PT was strong in his Closing arguments. I thought he gave a very good simple explanation of the charges and crimes. I just hope he didn't lose the jury in the length of the closing. jmo

I will probably miss the defense closing as I have to leave around 3:30 CDT. I so wanted to hear what they have to say.

I really thought that Defense would have presented a more passionate closing argument. It's difficult to pay attention, it is so dull.
