How long before cell phone records are returned, her phones are going to be key in this. Was the RR leased and in who's name? Yesterday a poster linked some liens, one from 2019 was $106k. Was that paid off in 2020 or 2021? That question is very relevant IMO.

I don’t think there’s a conspiracy with the building. I think their lawyers just wanted a search warrant. Which is totally reasonable IMO.

I’ve wondered the same but it feels unlikely. It’s right by staples center and lots of restaurants, so I’d guess on a Sunday afternoon there were enough people around that it wouldn’t go unnoticed. DTLA is block by block for safety like any big city though. I guess it could have happened earlier on her route too. Downey, where she was for the football game, is not the safest IMO.

I’m not sure LE is able to go knocking door to door of a large building talking to residents. Maybe a very basic consent search. But warrants, subpoenas, and good reason (legally) to talk to each person is needed. Residents are afforded the reasonable expectation of privacy. Anyways, just throwing out thoughts but wanted to raise the question of whether the searching the building issue is as simple as it seems on the face. It’s frustrating when it seems like LE is stalled, but legally, it can be a challenge. JMO

My understanding is: Typically search warrants are very specific in scope. While I do think they would be allowed to ask any resident willing to speak with them if they heard/saw anything during the time frame Seven was discovered or if they had noticed her around the building before, they would not be able to just enter any apartment without probable cause or a search warrant unless consent was given.

An attorney will probably have more detailed knowledge when it comes to investigations.

she was renting the home and Zillow has the rent estimate at $6,399, plus she has the RR but that could be paid off or given as a gift and her son's school is 10-15k annually depending on if you are an active parishioner, make certain donations and attend weekly church services. Not to mention gas in a RR, utilities, bills, food and all the other living costs especially with a child and dog. After taxes that would put her at a little under 8k a month take home assuming she got the max 1.5k monthly bonus. So there must be some arrangement with rent or other income as that would not be enough to live off of with just that salary and bonuses alone.

I live right by Heidi lives in Culver City area. What stands out to me is that her ex says she was making 125k/year yet she is living in a house that was listed for rent for $5,995/month and she drives a Range Rover. She was certainly living way above her means and I wonder if she was getting money from other places. IMO she either 1) got spooked that she was in trouble and fled and made sure to leave her dog somewhere it could be found or 2) something much more sinister and foul play was involved - could be random, but most likely tied to her business connections.

This says the LAPD have seized the security video. So, that is good news. Let’s hope, as you say, that the pertinent time period is still intact.

This confuses me. The Daily Mail article says a couple in the apartment looked after Seven for a week after they were unable to get in touch with the owner.

Yet, JW says he accessed her phone and found messages that were left by the woman who found Seven three hours after HP was last seen. According to his own accounts, LE did a wellness check on the 20th and he went back with DN the next day 10/21 and, my understanding, that's when he found the text, which is five days later.

If he had a number for the person who found the dog, why would he need to go through the microchip company to locate the dog? Why not just contact the person who found the dog directly?

yes. shes not rolling in it but she gets by fine.

True, but apparently (from a previous poster who lives in H+F) residents can only access floors where they live. That certainly narrows down who left the dog on the 28th floor, IMO. So, even if they hid the dog on the way in, access to the floor is limited.

I've been on elevators like this and if other people are on the elevator with you, you can get off on their floor instead of yours. MOO

YES. I have been suspecting from the start that we’re not getting a clear and complete explanation of where the dog was found and how JW connected with it. I’m definitely not implying malice in his explanation, it just doesn’t make much sense at all.

Just thinking out loud - could going through the microchip company be a security check? It could be confirmation that the person who claims to have the dog, indeed has the dog and the owner is actually the owner?

HP more than likely had contact info on her dog's collar and the women who found him may have tried to contact HP directly. When she got no response she may have checked the microchip info in case it was different. There was probably the call from the women finder and a call from the microchip company because they were contacted. JW only mentions the call from the woman because it is the most relevant info.
