Haha yes but after he says "But Jim insists Heidi's new man is a "great guy", adding: "I don’t have any worries about him, he’s a great guy."
He added: “I'm no detective for sure, but he seems like a really great guy. “As I said, I'm not a detective, but I can pretty much assure you that that’s not it.”

I just feel like that is an odd way to talk anyways. I am not a detective but have "no worries" about him and can assure you he has nothing to do with her disappearance? Just weird again for someone he probably hardly knows? And I also find it interesting regarding how he knew about the fight the week before...did he tell him that or did she tell him that?
Reading what JW said at your link. It would seem likely JW called him to see if Heidi was in the Bay area at his home.

Remember, JW knew about who had the dog because he saw a message on Heidi's phone. He had called LAPD to come do a wellness check and her phone was found in the home. My guess is they went through her phone and he got the boyfriend's number. MOO~

Do you know this for a fact or are you just surmising that she had no involvement? I ask because it’s very much a current investigation of Fraud that the FBI and Securities Commission are looking into and when the FBI went to her home, it was said that they took documentation and files etc so there must be, coupled with her name on documentation and 7 companies against her name all registered to the same address in Beverly Hills 90210 and she has openly said to her ex husband that her name is on documents and you put this together with her home, vehicle, lifestyle - all on an assistants salary in Los Angeles, an expensive place both in terms of property and lifestyle.
Her LinkedIn has more information available which makes me concerned that she may be a victim of whatever Is happening around her work and professional life.

Catching up...I said that as my opinion. Just my opinion, but the people who she was working for, I don't think they involve anyone in insider intricacies unless that person is equally committed in terms of amounts invested. They also trust lawyers, because of soliciter client privilege.

I think the kind of people she worked for will be very generous in order to secure loyalty and discretion from their employees, who may have a key to their home, access to their computers, book their travel, know who their friends are, and other types of personal and business details they don't want shared with anyone: potential scammers or robbers, potential competitors, and, potentially, authorities.

I don't get the impression Heidi was a crusader for justice, or whatever. I expect, like most people, she would go along with things because she wasn't conscious of any wrong doing. What would lead her to give up her comfortable circumstances and do something quite risky, with no potential reward for her except being out of a rewarding job?

But I can see how she might be worried about the future, because of events outside her control.

Do we know anything about the stairwell access in the complex? Is there a door that requires key card access or is it open access once inside the building? I know security is pretty tight there. Could the dog have wandered up there from a different floor? Perhaps it followed someone in to the building from nearby? (Wherever Heidi's last location was) Followed someone up the stairs? Or it was dropped there but maybe on a different floor and just snuck around until those people found it?

Edit. The reason I ask is bc it takes away the significance of the 28th floor. It could be any floor that the dog was dropped..if that's what happened.
The dog is definitely a mystery! Poor pup. I’m assuming by now that LE has the surveillance they need and probably have a lot more info than we’ve been made aware of. I really don’t fault the owner/management company for requiring proper subpoenas and warrants before complying. Privacy in apartment buildings is a tricky legal issue.

Hard for me to follow about Heidi’s phone/electronics, and how/when her ex obtained them. From the article:

He told The Sun: “I got Heidi’s electronics on October 21, and I probably started going through and checking on October 25."
—-
“I happened to have one of her phones because after we had done the police report I had gotten into her house and taken some of her electronics so I could talk to her friends and family whose numbers I didn’t have.
—-
Her laptop and a phone were found at her home during a wellness check on October 20, local reports stated.
—-

So, on the wellness check on 10/20, police left her electronics, then the ex, JW went back and took possession of those items the next day, on 10/21? Do I have that right?

I'm trying to catch up, saw this on the news today. I don't think she's purposely disappeared. The dog turning up inside the apartment complex may be very helpful. Maybe she was there that day with the dog and something happened, the dog ran or escaped and the perp couldn't find the dog or doesn't want anyone to know the connection. Does she have two phones? One was at home and one she had with her? Confusing information!

Now, it has emerged that the single mom had been dating Na’eem Salaam, 43, who works for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a vice president for operations, according to his Linked-In account.

The organization is owned by Facebook founder Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.

Stanford-educated Na’eem’s mom Amirah confirmed to The Sun that he had been dating Heidi and gasped "oh no" when told that she had gone missing.

The mental health counselor confirmed she had met Heidi previously, and that she "hoped all is well”.

Amirah said: “Na’eem works for the Zuckerberg Chan Initiative, he's a vice president there.

He (ex) also explains to The Sun why he described Heidi as being “antsy” at the game:

He told The Sun: "“She just seemed a little antsy. She was sitting over here, then sitting over there and then she was walking over there. It just seemed like she was a little antsy.

“Most people go to the football game and find a seat and they just sit down and they stay there.

“She was walking around and then she was sitting over here and then she was sitting over there. Then she kind of came over to the side that we were sitting on.

“I sat on the opposite side only because it was sunny on that side and I felt a little cold.

“It was like when somebody is not comfortable and not calm, so they're kind of like moving from place to place, you know?”

Me, I’m thinking if she had her dog with her, maybe she kept moving around because Seven (the dog) was antsy or excited and wanted to explore.

I try to maintain a truly open mind, and there's not enough information yet to even have a gut instinct, like I often have.

I object to jumping to conclusions that are based on fictional thrillers, especially the kind that tends to treat blondes as disposable plot devices. I think each disappearance is all about the actual individuals involved: their unique character and personality, their mental state at the time, and the exact circumstances.

Women usually disappear because of their personal relationships, or simply because they are targetted as female. Especially when they are attractive, blond, etc. They may also have mental health problems.

RBBM. Thank you for saying this!!! As I've said before, Occam's Razor.

The ex-husband of missing LA bookkeeper Heidi Planck has claimed her investment firm boss, who is being investigated for fraud, didn't appear 'too concerned' for her after she disappeared and seemed more worried about recovering her work laptop instead.

[JW] told DailyMail.com he believes 'the answer to Heidi's whereabouts lies with her boss, [JS], and his company.'

According to [JW], [JS] 'didn't appear to be too concerned that [Heidi] had gone missing' and seemed more interested in her computer when he spoke with his [JS's ] assistant shortly after his ex-wife went missing.

'While I was on the phone with his assistant, I heard [JS] in the background barking at his assistant to tell me, "make sure he knows I want my laptop."

'There was no concern and all from my ex-wife's employer. It's a multimillion-dollar company, they didn't offer to hire a private investigator or put up a reward.

'The only thing they really seemed concerned about was Heidi's computer,' he added.

'It was pretty low of [JS] and his minions to accuse Heidi of basically embezzling when she's mysteriously disappeared,' he said.

He added that he has no idea how her employer had obtained her banking information.

Wonder what this means -- perhaps, on 10/28 it was their case, but since has been moved to State DOJ? Anyone?
DOJ lists missing persons Statewide - DATA LIMITATIONS: This database is a subset of all persons reported as missing by law enforcement in the State of California.
LAPD is listed as the agency in charge - DATA LIMITATIONS: This database is a subset of all persons reported as missing by law enforcement in the State of California.

DOJ supports local LE -

Friday the 29th LAPD Robbery and Homicide detectives searched her home, so perhaps they have taken over the file from Missing Persons Division?

How inconvenient that LE has custody of Heidi's laptop while her boss is being investigated for 43MM fraud activity. I bet someone is very worried about this and I agree that JW needs an attorney and probably needs to have security until this is resolved.

edited to add the amount of fraud investigation

I am wondering why it took the LAPD so long to issue a missing person bulletin on 10/28, 8 days after JW reported Heidi missing on 10/20, 7 days after the wellness check on 10/21.
What was going on that week?
Also, the missing person report came 1 day before the search at her home on 10/29, conducted by the “elite” Robbery and Homicide Division, a very prestigious and famous group that is charged with very high profile crimes including extortion and kidnapping, crimes against financial institutions.
Robbery-Homicide Division RHD - LAPD Online
Is Heidi a victim or a suspect? Both?

Also, it sure doesn’t seem like the police are providing much info to JW.

Very interesting comments from the ex about the laptop and Heidi's boss.

Assuming the ex is a reliable narrator, that is. If so, he needs to zip it, for many reasons.

43MM is a lot of money.
