I do somewhat agree, that's why I said I would wait for an expert. But only that one site came back as Hawaii, all the others have said San Diego, and there are numerous others (more than I posted links to). From the little bit of looking that I did, the IP's change as well. Dan could have been using a VPN, but then... in my experience with a VPN, I don't use it to show where I normally reside, I use it to give an anonymous IP addy somewhere random lol or to access something out of country.

I am hoping we will hear more today one way or the other, computer dude La Rock should be able to testify about that? IMO

Missy, the problem is, one site did come back as Hawaii. I think that IP addresses may change over time, although I don't know that for sure. It's just what I've deducted from various things I've read. I just think this is all incredibly unreliable.

The other issue I have is with "experts" in general. I certainly don't automatically disregard their testimony, but I am highly skeptical about much of it. They are often trotted out by either side to prove a point, rather than to ferret out truth. They are often paid. I approach such testimony in the same way I do any other witness -with the caveat that they may or may not be telling the truth, have an agenda, etc.

At any rate, I do enjoy your posts and often find them quite informative. Will continue to read here...

Actually, your first sentence is fascinating. Very interesting.

Now, though, just a general comment about the contents of the article/interview and to play devil's advocate: Dan seems defensive, and maybe that, combined with the IP address business, is simply because he did withdraw some significant money out of the Paypal account after the disappearance. Apparently, he was still expecting another $2,000 from Joey (the buyout) and was afraid he wouldn't be paid back. (I know this starts before anyone knew they were missing, but see below.)

And: Although some of his Paypal withdrawals were posted, I'd have liked to see more history there. The DT is obviously attempting to show a pattern, but why only the few weeks before? A little suspicious of that, I am.

But the prosecution had the ability to bring up all the other transactions... 505 from 2002-2010 of them to be exact LOL that is an average of what? 63 payments a year? 5 a month? I would have liked to see the amounts of those transactions myself ;-)

Missy, I found your comment so interesting that I googled IP address...) Can't remember it now. I didn't get that Hawaii result. Did you google some other/additional information to get the Hawaii location?
