I hope FBI is interviewing all the other lil girls that live there! My guess there are more victims that are scared to tell :/

Good point...

I can't help but wonder if there were "unknown" (to the community) behaviors he exhibited prior to this heinous act...

I wonder if there were any mysterious disappearances of pets, etc., too..

I imagine there was an escalation of depraved behaviors before it reached this point..

All... JMO...

What if it turns out he didn't watch violent 🤬🤬🤬🤬 online? Not every single perp does. Yes, many do. You guys act like it never existed before. It's existed for decades. Parents ultimately have to control what their kids access and get into.

It's not just about one element though. It's about a combination of things. Young men get some very strong messages from mainstream media culture too. We don't know if he watched 🤬🤬🤬🤬 (though I'd be surprised if a 15 year old hadn't accessed any 🤬🤬🤬🤬 at all). It's just an interesting element of a variety of things that can impact on young men.

corundogs-I totally appreciate what you are seeing/relating. What you, nor I, nor others see is what is behind the red door. It may be a trash compacter. I used to live in some apartments who had this feature on the property. The apartment maintenance men told me that they could crush appliances like washers and dryers and such. All part of a planned community. I am not trying to argue with you and I admire your passion. If I am wrong-then I am wrong. Thank you for caring so much.

I am not trying to be argumentative. At all.

But that door is the entrance to that area. We saw them walking in and out of it last night.

If you got to 13:00 of this video you will see that. Watch for a few minutes and you will see people coming in and out. Eventually they turn the light on and you can see it illuminated better. Just to clarify things for you. The reporter keeps calling it a shed...but it's the garage. The presser held shortly after this by the Capt. stated that too - that the recycle bin was in the garage area.

"Santa Cruz Police Chief Kevin Vogel told reporters that Madyson Middleton was probably dead even before she was reported missing Sunday evening."

Snip

"The boy, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, was nearby when the body was discovered, and officers found evidence in the apartment that links him to the slaying, the police chief said."

I think if they are raised in a certain way, they'll be able to resist the violent, sexualized gore & not just resist but be repulsed by it. I agree that it's dangerous to desensitize them to it but how do we stop that from happening?

You outlaw it!

I wish that were true about how someone was raised, but I know OF 3 separate grown men with wives and children and very active members in their churches that were respectable members of the community with good jobs. Over the past 10 years these 3 men on separate occasions were busted with child 🤬🤬🤬🤬. Two of the 3 speak about how their addiction started with "basic" 🤬🤬🤬🤬 then escalated and escalated over the years. When interviewed they cry how they've ruined their children's lives by the shame and so forth. It doesn't completely matter how someone is raised. I'm sure it's less likely that someone with good morals gets involved in this stuff, but men are men and addiction is addiction. I know my husband's computer at home and at work are both locked up with k-9. I'm the only one with the code. This is a good thing to do in your homes, but I can't lock up all of my son's acquaintances' computers. : /

My kids can play in our yard, but only because I live in the middle of 70 rural acres. I won't let my 8 or 12 year old ride up to the road to even check the mail.

I was "friends" with my male, teenage neighbor, too, when I was 4-7. Thankfully, I was just molested and not murdered.

Hugs to you T4Tide!!

Cops: Neighbor "lured" slain Calif. girl to his apartment
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cops-ne...rnia-girl-madyson-middleton-to-his-apartment/

"SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -An eight-year-old northern California girl was killed by a teen neighbor after the suspect lured her into his apartment, police said Tuesday.

Santa Cruz police chief Kevin Vogel said Madyson Middleton went willingly to the fifteen-year-old boy's apartment Sunday evening in the complex where they both lived. Vogel confirmed that a body found in a recycling bin at the complex Monday following a massive search is that of the missing girl.

Police believe the boy, who she knew as an acquaintance, killed her while they were alone in the apartment and then tried to conceal her body in the bin.

"She went there of her own volition as far as we can tell - she knew him. She was 8 years old. I think she had a reasonable amount of trust in him," Vogel said. "We don't believe she was taken there against her will.""

Just jumping off your post margarita:

He betrayed her trust. Makes him more responsible imo. More heinous, only MO. Not a stranger, as in stranger-danger. He didn't just snap when he was sweetly demonstrating how to perform yo-yo tricks

Perhaps, his lure

Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is illegal. I'm not sure of other laws about 🤬🤬🤬🤬, but how on earth would it be possible to outlaw? How can you draw a line and say this is okay, but this is not? I'm not asking you like you should have the answer, it's just a general question.

"The search came to a tragic end Monday evening when the girl's body was found in the recycle bin during a second and "more thorough" search of the apartment complex, Vogel said.

Vogel said the teen boy was taken into custody "almost immediately" because he was in the same area where the girl's body was found, possibly watching teams search. The teen's apartment is upstairs from the bin where the girl's body was found, Vogel said, and investigators believe the body was carried to the bin."

Maybe the confusion over the recycling bin is that they are calling the blue dumpster a recycling bin, even though it is much larger than your average recycling bin, and maybe the smaller blue containers are emptied into it???

And IF the other neighbors are accurate (and I believe they are), in that he was a "great friend" to Maddy and "close" to this outgoing, vibrant child>he likely was eyeballing, "grooming" her for a bit, waiting to seize the opportunity to have time alone with her

MOO

I can appreciate the "friendship" that Maddy may have had with her killer.

I grew up in an apartment complex. Everybody played together and everybody knew everybody. We were a bit of a gang with kids of all ages. The older ones looked out for the younger ones. They walked us to school and God Forbid anybody tried to hurt us at school because those older kids from the apartments always came to the rescue. At 8 years of age I can honestly say that I had older friends. The teens would come by. We knew them and even had a CRUSHES on a couple of the boys. We flirted with them in a pain in the 🤬🤬🤬 kind of way and they laughed and talked with us and at times hung out. I knew them and trusted them. If one of them had ever said to come to his house to watch TV or whatever I most likely would have gone and thought nothing of it. I would have felt special.

As much as we try to protect our children sometimes it's just not possible. The most despicable evil sometimes comes from those we trust the most.

VERY good point. That must be why he stated in the presser that in the beginning it was search and rescue that BECAME recovery, this the dumpster was checked. I guess you don't check a dumpster for a live child.

That would be an unfortunate guess. It would also be an guess in error.

It looks like children need to be told: "Do not go into any one's house! Do not get into a car with any one!

I can still hear those words ringing in my ears from my mother!

I can't help but think of Jorelys Rivera. She was last seen playing at her apartment complex around 5 PM, and then she was gone. :(

I hope this case has a different outcome. Unfortunately, I don't think it will.

Please let me be wrong.

When I first saw this sad case, my mind went to both Jorelys Rivera and Jenise Wright. I was wishing I wasn't right. :(
Sending prayers and positive energy to the families.

I said the same thing last night before they found her little body. :( I also wished I was wrong. That poor little girl and her family.
