I am sorry. Didn't mean to fly off the handle😊

It's okay, I never want to offend anyone and any way and I'm sorry my post offended you! Please know I did not mean it in that way

OT I'm in. Where do we sign up ? Is there a basement ' gatherings' thread?

I am new enough that I don't know where to start such a thread. I actually meant an annual gathering IRL.

But a basement party works, too!

If it is any comfort to either of you, I offend on a regular basis. Without ill intentions. :)

I think a lot of that is total BS written by people who like sex offenders.

"People who like sex offenders"? My goodness, that seems like a rather groundless brush-off.

Good night, sweet friends. I have been up for 19 hours now and am so brain and body tired.

I am as ever amazed at the sleuthing abilities of y'all.

And now I pass out.....

You do know that no two people's DNA is the same, right? Even identical twins have tiny differences.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/identical-twins-genes-are-not-identical/

Science still hasn't totally determined how all of the genetic coding works.

But, sure, nurture has an effect also.
Just jumping off from your post - and not directly related to the perp in this case, but generally speaking about parenting and how kids turn out.

The interplay between "nature" and "nurture" is complex and dynamic. Just look at epigenetics, for example.

It's never, ever as simplistic as either "he was entirely born like that" or "his parents entirely made him like that".

A girl I went to school with totally went off the rails as a teenager - ended up falling in with a very bad crowd, working as a prostitute (very under age), and dying of a drug overdose. She was completely the "perfect child" in every way until her parents divorced and she took it VERY personally. Her parents did everything in their power to 'save' her including getting police and family services involved, but by their combined powers they simply could not. It was like once she went down that path her fate was simply inevitable. However her slightly older sister took the divorce in her stride as most kids do, and went on to become a doctor. The family as a whole were well-educated, really normal, very lovely people. Why that daughter fell to a million pieces after a divorce - something most kids, including her own sister, deal with just fine even if it's hard at the time - who knows? But you couldn't just say "well if a kid turns into a hooker and a drug addict then I know exactly what kind of family they come from". You just always CAN'T tell that.

Did we ever figure out if the last IG post, the video, was posted before or after the attack?

Can someone post a link to this video? I would like to see it.. TIA

No. Either before or after, it's chilling seeing a close up of his hands (the ones he either just used or was about to) that were used to strangle Maddy. I was poking around his IG account last night and just felt sick. I wish my mind wouldn't go this places.

I was there last night too and my mind was also in an uncomfortable space. It was like a chapter of a mystery novel and AJG was narrating. Not good.

Seriously, a lot of the objections are total BS. What state says public urination is a sex crime?

Ever since I can remember and that is at least 50 years there has been the term, " Jail bait." Girl under 18 although I think the age of consent is younger in some states.

It seems that a guy who gets busted is because the parents do not approve. Otherwise, I do not see these older guys getting busted. I saw it when teaching and wondered why these 30 year old guys had not been busted for having sex and a child with a 16 year old.

In the state I was from, we are notified only of Level Three sex offenders- those most likely to reoffend.

They should be locked up forever, but they aren't. Their victims get a life sentence, though

Public Urination and Sex Offender Registration

Prosecutors occasionally charge defendants with the crime of indecent exposure or public lewdness. If convicted, these defendants face the onerous duty of registering as sex offenders, a sentence that will follow them for the rest of their lives. Several states allow for such registration, including Arizona (involving minors and repeat crimes), Ariz. Rev. Stat. §13-3821; California, Cal. Penal Code §§314(1)-(2), 290; and Georgia (when done in view of a minor) Ga. Code Ann. §§42-1-12, 16-6-8.

Also, I know personally of public urination arrests in FL and LA which resulted in mandatory SO registration.

It's just his hand playing piano with the caption "the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had"

He was playing Mad World, which the above are in the lyrics. You may have known that, but I think it is an important clarification.

I remember 16 yr old Hannah Anderson was also called a "baby" when that family friend took her on the strange road trip/camping trip after killing her mother & brother. If a 16 yr old is a 'baby,' then a 15 yr old is a 'baby' too I guess.

I think that is in the context of the relationship. Compared to the perp, who was in his 40's, Hannah was a baby.

Just like 8 yr old Maddy, compared to a 15 yr old, is just a baby. JMO

My thoughts are how Madyson would envision herself. I will think of her as "little lady" or "young miss." It doesn't lessen the crime and how vile it is, and it also doesn't infanticize her, which most kids over the age of 5 are sensitive about (IMO).

I guess it depends upon the the 8 yr old. Hubby has always called our daughter 'Baby Girl'--she is 23 and she still loves being called Baby Girl.

I did but you're right it is important, thank you :)

My daughter begged me night and day for a FB account before she was 13. I repeatedly told her "no".

By the time she turned 13, it never came up. She had zero interest in FB. Lol.

Mine has never expressed an interest in FB, but as soon as she got a phone at age 12, she got Instagram- that was because I didn't know it was a mini FB.
