6 active on scene at time of incident, making them able to respond quickly

Typically 80,000-100,000 people attend the Garlic Festival, with tens of thousands also involved in the planning and making the festival work.
Police personnel were on site the entire duration of the festival.

Many Fire, EMS, etc were on scene for the festival and able to respond quickly.

Yes, that is correct.

Engaging the suspect in less than a minute. Suspect was armed with an assault rifle. When he saw the officers, he began shooting at the three officers responding (LE officers had hand guns). The officers fatally wounded the suspect and it ended fairly quickly. Attention turned to EMS and the victims. Over 20 agencies responded from all over to the park. The cooperation and support was incredible.

Thousands of people were in a small area and it could have gotten so much worse so fast, incredibly grateful for the quick response time.

3 people deceased. One is a six year old male victim. 13 year old female victim. Another male victim in his 20s.

No motive yet. No confirmation that second suspect did any shooting, but active investigation to find potential "second suspect"

SKS rifle was used (similar to AK47) purchased legally July 9th, 2019 in Nevada.

The suspect is the person media has IDed. SL, 19 years old. Police Chief says name with hesitation, does not want him to have recognition or notoriety, but understands the public/media want confirmation.
