Wonder how he’s coping with isolation in his cage, while wearing an anti suicide vest, no access to his drugs of choice and with only a few people allowed to speak to him.

Bet he’s thrown some doozie tantrums.

No doubt. No escaping the consequences of his actions this time.

You are correct, not much about him in the last 10 yrs or so. He did participate in the Dopey podcast in 2016 and a few times after. The only other glimpse into him were those photos with his family where he looks like the most unhappiest of people…. IIRC the last photo that was taken was in September of this year.

Could it be that “Being Charlie” was such a flop….no matter how hard his dad pushed the PR on it, that Nick just faded back into his life prior and no one wanted to talk about it?

I agree. A family member only needed to show one of those family photos featuring the chilling stare of NR to a Hollywood psychiatrist and I bet an appointment could’ve been arranged for the next day.

I bet he has!

All the media releases about Nick as a child, 17 years ago, are supposed to leave us feeling sorry for the unfortunate, misunderstood, confused child who turned to drugs to cope with his feelings.

32 year old 6'3" and 230 lbs Nick is who killed his parents a couple of weeks ago. He was living at home and completely normal on November 14, 2025. On December 13, 2025 he was rude, confrontational and angry.

Allegedly. Yes. From what Ive read anyway.
Then there are articles like this that say

“ The drama "Being Charlie" tells the story of an 18-year-old's struggles with addiction, his time in rehab and his life in recovery. The film is based on the real-life experiences of Reiner's son, Nick, 32, who was in and out of rehab facilities between the ages of 15 and 19 for drug addiction and lived on the street for periods of time.

Which doesnt jive with him saying he’s been clean for 6 yrs before making “ being Charlie”
Article from:

and in this rolling stone article RR says Nick had been clean for 6 years before making “ being Charlie”
Rob Reiner Said Son Nick Was Sober and in 'Really Good Place' 3 Months Before Murders
IMO Nick was never really sober. He was sober by his definition perhaps, smoking some weed, taking a pill here and there and never gave up alcohol.

Ya, No. Nick hadn’t been truly sober in a very long time.

Being sober is hard. It’s work. It’s hard work and you want to do it.

Nick wasn’t into “hard” unless we are talking about hard drugs. Work? Not in his wheelhouse.

Respectfully MOO

And truth be told, I don’t know if he even wanted to get sober. He talked about wanting to go back to smoking weed taking some pills and just doing whatever. A harm reduction approach? 🤷‍♂️
Maybe he managed to do that for a while., kept it a little more in control and thats why there isn’t a lot of info after “being Charlie.” Public info anyway.

He always looks so incredibly angry. It oozes from him.

IMO
He looks full of misery, totally unhappy, wretched.
Detached from reality.

Since the start of this tragedy, I and others here have commented on how different Nick looks here, as opposed to the pictures of him when he was younger.

In the publicity interview for “Being Charlie,” his entire facial structure looks so different. IMO he looked much more like Michele than Rob. Slim, a defined jaw. Also he had his glasses on.

The Nick in the recent photos looked more like Rob, I would guess primarily because he gained weight, and so he had a much fuller face, bigger body, but still with a sinister aspect in his eyes.

I’m guessing it’s a result of whatever change in his medicine protocols, but also getting older.

Whereas when he was younger, he certainly seemed “off,” but in the picture of the man he is now, he looks more threatening.

Of course I may think that just due to hindsight, because I think he doesn’t look quite as looming in the videos of him wandering through the convenience stores.

He has an expression of disdain. He's a low life, unemployed loser with an anger problem who lived in his parents backyard on their dime.

I think I may have posted the incorrect link for this. Below is the correct link. Guests wondered whether the rude, confrontational, imposing large man had wandered into the party uninvited.

"Whispers begin to ripple. The imposing man — 6-foot-3, approximately 230 pounds — had not wandered in off the street, though many wondered if he had. The man was the son of Rob and Michele Reiner."

Here's the correct link:

What I dont like to read is how his meds were making him out of his head weeks before the murder, if they made him so out of his head why was he not monitored more closely or was he?? Feels an awful lot like excuse making. It is similar to how he said “ I get crazy, you dont want to set me off” like it was a game and a warning all in one. Like an “ I told ya so…’

I had a 'jumped up' drug creep say that to me once when he asked me for a cigarette. 'you don't want to set me off'.. EXCUSSSSSSSSSSE ME YOU WEASEL?? ( I smoked then and gave him one and beat feet, just a lady coming in from my secretary jobbbb to my apartmentttttttttt in this quiet lovely New England town.. all in a day.. all in a day... but, I agree, a game and a warning that he was playing NR, whenever not getting his way. It worked it seemed, unfortunately. The stress all the time that family had to deal with. Not that I believe NR had it mentally 'easy' himself as a child with I think, mental health issues all along till everything else that led up to what he did IMO

See I thought the exact opposite in the photos. I think in the younger photos he looked much more like Rob. Now he just looks mean.

Do you believe NR hadn't done drugs in six years?

Rob Reiner said he believed his son Nick Reiner was in "a really good place" during an interview just three months before the director and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were killed.

In newly resurfaced clips from Reiner's September interview with NPR, the filmmaker, who was promoting Spinal Tap II: The End Continues at the time, revisited his 2015 movie Being Charlie, which he directed and Nick co-wrote. The film follows a teenager struggling with addiction, echoing some of Nick’s self-described “dark years” after he started to use drugs at a young age.

Snip

Rob added that he believed Nick was doing well in the September interview. "He's been great … hasn't been doing drugs for over six years," he said. "He's in a really good place."

I can’t watch it, restricted in my country for some reason, we’re so sheltered here in Canada lol

I didn’t realize Nick moved back the week of the murders, I must have missed that. I’m surprised no one is saying anything about this too.

There are contrary reports. IIRC another said he’d lived in the guest house for five years. But this one has him moving back temporarily only a ‘few days’ prior to the murders.

“Citing law enforcement sources and family friends, ABC News reported on Monday that Nick Reiner had recently returned to live at his parents' South Chadbourne Avenue home. The move was described as a temporary arrangement intended to help him stabilize. Sources told the outlet that Nick had been "struggling" in recent weeks, prompting his parents to intervene and offer him a place to stay, a decision that investigators now believe placed them in the direct path of the violence.”
