I get the feeling the trouble followed Joni and not Skip. 329 Lawson was the address for a lot a possibly shady businesses and a check reveals that H and R ( Ray?) Elliot ( Joni's maiden name ) owned that property. Click on the 'next' button below 19 residents in this url.

Was H*** Elliot the mother who "was supposed to die first"? according to Joni's 1/2 brother?
It may have followed her, anything is possible, and I too wondered about her brother at first. Having never met him, I couldn't form and opinion at all. I thought of their issues and wondered it that would make a person so angry. However the crime scene did not seem that of a crime of anger. I am oblivious to anyone's financial status (I learn more as we go along) but didn't get the feeling he would finance a "hit". Again I don't want to speculate since I haven't had any evidence that might lead to him. Joni's dad and step-mom seemed to be very nice, proper, people. Kept her room as it was when she was growing up in their smaller house near Hollywood if am not mistaken. Only went there a few times. The were not "rich", well mannered and I don't think they had any idea of what was going on. Nothing may have while they were still alive. I was unable to find obituaries for any of them. Came across similar names etc. and like someone had said, I don't think they are the Elliot's that owned that house on Lawson. I did finally find out that the last house I visited was 316 Knight Way, La Canada, CA 91011. I don't know if they rented or owned that house. All of my "visualization" of the day of the murder was originally focused on that house. Now to see aerial views of the house they were in, it is easier to understand how easy it might have been for perps to lay in wait unnoticed. I also now get the impression that the deals that might have cost them their lives probably weren't such a matter of public record. Piece by piece I learn more of what he might have been "working on" or business ventures. He was not always forthcoming when asked questions and I get the impression she was not aware of many things. He wouldn't have wanted her to worry. I think my other impression after reading the will was that he set it up with the mindset that he would be leaving her and would leave her enough to live out her life with. I honestly thought the they might have left the country and we would hear from them asking to forward the money from the life insurance. He was,in my opinion, more of a take it with you when you go, kind of man. I was truly in shock that he had left a will and had that much disposable cash/assets. I didn't ever "nose" in my parents finances or anyone's it was "rude" in their eyes. Seems to make more sense now than at the time.
