Nowhere is safe for a police officer these days. The lunatics are running the asylum, IMO, and have been for several years.

God forbid the police kill a "black" man. Is everyone else fair game? Where is the outrage when a white man or woman is killed? Are blacks "special"?

So you missed all the outrage about Justine Diamond then?

Wasn't it reported that one of the LEO's involved was black?

That's not a surprise. If there's a culture of shoot first and ask questions later in a police department, of course black officers are going to be part of it too.

Protesters block Golden 1 Center, again, after disrupting council meeting on shooting of Stephon Clark

The Kings were scheduled to tip off against the Dallas Mavericks at 7 p.m. The game was delayed but got underway with only smattering of fans in their seats. Thousands more were left outside.

"You ain't seeing no game tonight. Join us or go home!" protesters shouted at them.

Today someone called police because a man was trying to break into cars. Police showed up to track down the culprit, arrest him, and take him to trial. Instead, the suspect shot one of the police officers. Police then killed the suspect.

That is how it works when police are not expecting that the suspect has a gun.

Der, wonder why he shot first?

That's a good question. This did not happen in a city where there are racial tensions, and it has been decades since a police officer was killed on the job. There is no history of thieves or pursued suspects being shot. There was no reason for the car thief to shoot police except to avoid arrest. Because of his actions, he is dead and a police officer is seriously injured. This didn't need to happen. If police had anticipated that the car thief had a gun, they would have been more prepared to look for a gun and to shoot first. Going forward, this is how it will be. This could result in police mistaking other objects for a gun. The actions of this thief may have altered police actions going forward.

This is OT, but seeing as you mentioned "Dogs"...
Police shoot Dogs every day. The excuse is always the same as when they shoot people. "I felt threatened". What happens to these cops? Not a thing. How many cops have been killed by a dog? 0.
Feel 'threatened" yourself by a police dog and kill it? That can cost you 45 years in jail according to the article below.
I have looked for stats that show how many UPS, Fed-Ex, and USPS employees have killed Dogs (outside of accidently running over them), and I can't find one.

Tanya Faison is on point when she says the Police Review Commission needs to lead the investigation and that the people need to be in charge of policing the police not the police.

Police did nothing to the suspect with the gun until the suspect shot the police officer. The thief decided to shoot the police "like a dog" to avoid arrest.

I guess he didn't want to be arrested. He's a violent loser who decided it was okay to kill other people if he benefitted.

Well I don't think you can claim firing at armed police is "like killing a dog" in the way police gun down unarmed civilians is.

I don't know any place where "police gun down unarmed civilians". That absolutely doesn't happen around here.

In the Clark situation, a vandal was fleeing from police, he refused to do what police told him to do, and after being told in two separate instances to show his hands, he started fooling around with what could be mistaken for a gun on a dark night. The suspect made really stupid decisions and it cost him his life.
