''Toronto police’s homicide unit is investigating after four people were struck, one fatally, by the driver of a vehicle in a parking lot at an apartment building in North York.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 250 Cassandra Blvd. near Victoria Park Avenue at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say three people were rushed to hospital, where one woman has since died.

Two other people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth person was treated at the scene.

Police say a male driver was arrested at the scene.

Insp. Keri Fernandes said the homicide unit will be investigating alongside Traffic Services.

“There is some information that these people were struck intentionally,” she said, adding police don’t have information on a motive at this point.

“I heard screaming, somebody screaming ‘help, help, help,'” said Rudy Wachtel, a resident of the building, who adds he ran out of his apartment and found two residents lying on the ground.''

"We have learned that this was an intentional act on the part of the arrested party," Price said, calling the collision a "violent vehicle-related incident."

Speaking to reporters late Wednesday, Price said that there is a familial relationship between accused and the victims, but did not provide specifics. The victims include an adult woman, an adult man and an elderly woman, he said. Police earlier said four people had been struck, but later said there were a total of three victims.
