IMO, there is a difference between being private and being secretive.

I've not heard anything about AG having secrets. Eg she was spying for Russia when she worked at Chalk River, or she'd changed her name and moved to the area to escape debts...

Whereas past marriages or whatever else are just old baggage that many people prefer not to talk about. Done, over, best forgotten.

ETA: how much do people on WS talk about their time on here to aquaintances?

I don't remember, that she had fear for some time before her death.
If she had, certainly she wouldn't have sat in her garage with an OPEN garage door by night, IMO, like some members meant. Maybe, she also wouldn't have caged her shepherds at any time, her only "weapons", she had.

RBBM: This is what I was thinking as well. To me it's always looked like Audrey crated the dogs in reception of a visitor.

IIRC AG met PK when he was 18 at McMaster. They'd only known each other for about 4(?) years or so at the time AG died. I find it somewhat odd that AG would continue to mention this concern she had, that many years later on.

Of course we don't know the context of those comments. If Audrey was aware of Shelly Loder and Sonia Varaschin that in itself would be enough for anyone. Especially a single woman living alone in a rural area.

Very true. JMO Audrey was more private than secretive.

She might not have been a Russian spy infiltrating Chalk River but there is a chance that she was seen as a threat. Not that this is a theory but it's very possible that in Audreys lifetime she experienced a lot of prejudice for being a woman in a male dominated field. Very bright, educated, successful and a woman. Some people just don't like that! JMHO.

Just in the sense that AG probably had online interests that she didn't share with people in real life.

I have mentioned my interest in true crime to people I know, but they aren't interested/don't want to discuss it. I don't tell them that I post online...is that a "secret"...? I just feel it's no one else's business.

We know Audrey spent quite a bit of time on her computer(s). She mentioned to at least one person something about having an interest in computer viruses. I don't remember who said that but it goes to show that Audrey was not always "secretive" or compartmentalizing her life. She had various interests and groups that wouldn't have naturally crossed paths unless Audrey introduced them. JMO.

He met Gleave when he was 18 working at Windmill Power Equipment in Dundas. She needed someone to help her around the property. At the time he lived with his parents in Brantford — just 5 minutes from Gleave.

Did LE take away Audrey's computers (I imagine they did). IMO, they found only what they would find on anyone's computers - email, comics, chat places, looking for info on various topics, etc. In the end, I doubt Audrey was all that different from anyone of us. JMO

I spent the past week or so during some quiet time to read Audrey’s threads. She touches me, and I am so appreciative of all of the excellent sleuthing done on her behalf by so many talented WSs. I popped on here today to share my hope that 2025 is her year. And happy new year to all of you who have kept her light shining for so many years!

MOO not certain Audrey was avoiding anything. It's very possible there was never an occasion for Audrey to introduce her friends and acquaintances to one another.

@No_Stone_Unturned I'm sure LE took the computers. The Camaro and computers would have been top of the list IMO. I thought Audrey met PK via McMaster somehow? Not sure if I'm confused... How/where did they meet again? That article only says they met during the time PK worked at Windmill.

Phil had met Audrey four years earlier, in 2006, when he was 18 and in first year at McMaster.

He used to work at Windmill Power Equipment in Dundas. Audrey frequented the place and let it be known she needed someone to help her around her property. Phil gave it a shot. Back then, before he got married, he lived with his parents in Brantford, just a five-minute drive away from Audrey's.

Kinsman met Gleave about six years ago while working part-time at a small engine shop and began helping her around her house and garden. He shared a story about the first time Gleave hugged him – something she seldom did.

That's correct. The links won't work because they are old. PK might have been planning to attend McMaster but he met Audrey while at Windmill. She hired him as a handyman while he was at Windmill.

I think, AG did choose him as her handyman, when she heard about his ambitious future plans perhaps. Was certainly a criterion for her.
