Yim’s comments sound absolutely ridiculous! Using his logic, why would police ever issue a description of a wanted person- after all, “the person could have changed clothes, so what good would a description do……. ?” Ridiculous.
With every revelation like this I get more and more convinced that LE fumbled this investigation terribly. Hard to believe the incompetence that seems to exist in the investigation.
TSP also said that the main suspect NW was on their radar early in the investigation when they released the video to the public, which contradicts their initial court warrant requests and reported lack of interest in searching video surveillance.

They said that they withheld the video of the NW for 4 years "to protect their investigation". That was their first ridiculous statement. How could it hurt their investigation to release the NW video immediately to the public, and ask for help, as they did 4 years too late?

TPS's next ridiculous statement is why they didn't monitor the airports for the NW or other suspects who might flee the country. Yim stated TPS didn't monitor the airports because a perp might change his/her appearance, so why bother? How lame is that? They never even thought of monitoring the airports, because they had decided on a murder/suicide theory the day their bodies were found and that theory would influence their investigation for some time after the murders. jmo

I wish JK would do an interview, bet he has a fair idea where the bodies are buried.
Barry probably confided in him a lot .

Very disappointing.

As the Star learned by contacting Pearson airport officials following the hearing, all video of passengers moving around the airport and passing through security is deleted after 30 days — if any images that would be helpful to the police were captured, they are gone.

Can someone please help me here? Who are FD and AP? Thanks so much. :)

Also, does Cocaine Anonymous have to tell LE who was/was not at their meetings?
FD is Frank D'Angelo and AP is Adam Paulin

  • Various bits of info about BS's other businesses and associations, there are just too many entanglements, no wonder this case is so complicated! imo

  • Barry Sherman - Wikipedia

  • ''Sherman had a mixed reputation, or what the National Post called "Two Legacies".[37] Sherman and his wife were described by Toronto Mayor John Tory as "kind, good people", and he was widely praised for his philanthropic giving.[38] On the other hand, Morton Shulman, a physician and former member of the Ontario Parliament who late in his life fought Sherman over drug development, called him "the only person I have ever met with no redeeming features whatsoever".[22] A Bloomberg writer reporting on Sherman's death said that some rival generic drug company executives used "unprintable" language to describe him.[15]

University of Ottawa law professor Amir Attaran described Sherman as "a deplorable human being" in reference to his business practices, claiming that he gouged Canadians with high drug prices: "Canadians pay more for generic drugs than almost every other country. He sought to manipulate our system to enrich himself and impoverish Canadian patients who used his drugs."[38] Attaran accused Sherman of crossing ethical lines concerning intellectual property rights to "fight as many as 100 battles at a time in court to challenge drug patents and make way for Apotex's generic prescriptions" with little end benefit to consumers.[38][39] By contrast, Sherman saw Apotex as a force for good, saying, "If we're thieves, we're Robin Hoods."[22]''

As told in Jeffrey Robinson's 2001 book Prescription Games: Money, Ego and Power Inside the Pharmaceutical Industry, Sherman himself acknowledged the long-running conflict between Apotex and the major pharmaceutical companies over drug patents, saying, "The branded drug companies hate us. They have private investigators on us all the time. The thought once came to my mind: why didn't they just hire someone to knock me off?"[40] Private investigators working for the German company Bayer AG, one of the world's largest drug companies, reportedly considered planting illegal drugs in Sherman's car during an operation to lure Apotex employees into informing on whether the company was knowingly infringing Bayer's patents.[15]
There was also Dr. Morton Shulman who could be added to the above as per Who could have murdered billionaire Barry Sherman and wife Honey, two of Canada’s leading philanthropists? – Part 2: antagonists in the family and community circles
There was also Dr. Nancy Olivieri who could be added to the above as per Opinion | Nancy Olivieri: How John le Carré changed my life

They first saw the NW video about a month or more after the murder but it probably took them some time after seeing all the other videos and identifying other people on it to reach the point where the NW was the only person left unidentified after identifying and eliminating everyone else. Thus, this is why it could have taken some time.
However, since they have released one video of the NW, they should also release all of the NW videos as well.

great discussions :)

haven't been on here for awhile....... interesting newspaper stories but seemingly nothing too new and striking.

a few thoughts,

1) I saw the suggestion of BS stumbling on wrongdoing at Apotex........ I was wondering about when they sold drugs into Eastern Europe. what happened with that? I assume you might run afoul of all kinds of dangerous characters there (especially Russia and ex-USSR)...... quite different but Eduoard Safra in Monte Carlo wouldn't let the fire fighters in because he thought they were Russian mafia. and as a result died. easy to run afoul of these people when money and regulation are involved.. Safra though had a very direct link to all kinds of criminal types.

2) children suggesting 2 men strikes me as 1) JS suggesting JK and FDA, and perhaps 2) at least one one of the daughters suggesting JS.... to me it really means nothing without the S children having some sort of unique insight.

3) wasn't there a suggestion that ex-military (secret service? KGB?) walk with a limp as (I think) they are somehow favouring their weapon side...... of course, wouldn't the hired killer try to hide this characteristic? or, alternatively, pretend to do it if it was not consistent with your background?... haven't seen the video recently. is it really pronounced? or is it just some unique but minor in his gait? (like a slight hitch?)

4) it seems quite likely this was done by a mercenary/professional killer...... so to me, alibis don't matter much. in fact, I'd be less suspicious of a potential suspect who claimed to be watching TV by themselves a mile away?...... too good an alibi is more suspicious. like someone who just happened to do a time stamp from miles away around that time.

5) ... is there much thought as to how a pro killer got into the house so easily?.... just an extra key? is it that simple?
Re # 4) Or someone who sent BS a text around the time when he was being killed?

i can’t see the doctor being in on this murder. Dr Olivieri I mean.
Morton Shulman died long before the murders.

Bottom line = it’s a fishing expedition by police. How I wish one detective was assigned to the Audrey Gleave case for many, many years.

Why would LE hold back the NW for so long? Makes no sense to me.

Reason given was that it might compromise the investigation- doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. But we are not on the same side of the fence that LE is on. I would like to think that decisions made at the time, made sense at the time.

Why not?
Not suggesting she could or could not be involved, but why not? Because she is a Medical Dr?
Because these murders were far too personal. Strangulation is right in your face, personal. Dr Olivieri had her differences with B but these were not personal differences. JMO

FWITW- and my opinion only, I don't see Dr. O's involvement in the tragic deaths of B&H S, but just want to give context to the relationship.
