I really don't know what to make of this case. Pharmaceutical giant commits suicide by belt/hanging is just bizzare. I would think that he'd know what drugs to take to put himself gently to sleep forever.

Not only that but this guy was a BILLIONAIRE. One of the truly elite of the entire planet.

This was not John and Patsy Ramsey. This guy is like Scrooge McDuck rich!

If he purposefully or accidentally killed his wife he would have access to professional "fixers" to make a problem like that go away.

Long ago when I lived in Toronto Christie Blatchford was the only reporter who didn't toe the (Liberal) (NDP) party line. I'm sure she is still the same independent voice she was back then and even 25 years ago she had impeccable sources. She often stands alone but she was almost always right. I trust her

If it's true their legs were straight out in front of them, then it was murder. I'm sure we'll find all this out after the 1st. Hopefully.

curious, why would that make it murder? a suicide could do that too.

Has anyone considered that Honey killed Barry?

If it is murder-suicide, it would be my belief that it was unintentional. Something perhaps happened in a fit of anger. With all the other bizarre speculations out there...I will give one as well. Perhaps Honey was having an affair (it is not unusual for extra marital activities) and Barry found out and wanted her to end the affair. Honey was very good looking, youthful in her appearance, described as very outgoing and her husband worked long hours. Being a very social person, I would imagine she would have made many male friends of her own. And who exactly was the trainer who was trying to get into the house when TPS had the house surrounded?

You also have the woman who ducked under the police tape with flowers who was said to be crying. Maybe it was Barry having he affair and Honey found out. Maybe she threatened to get a divorce. One thing is for sure, as frugal as Barry was he would not have wanted to split that fortune in a divorce.

No if this was rage, things would not have been this clean and neat.

How do you know the scene was clean and neat?

I have not, because I don't believe a woman could physically strangle a man. Or would choose to do that even in rage.

It looks like most of you think it was murder/suicide. Barry must have been a very depressed/distraught man if this is the case.

I think it's murder-suicide but I don't think BS was "very depressed/distraught." I've mentioned a few times what my hunch is upthread.

I realize people jump on the thread without reading every single missed thread.

I do not think killing a spouse comes out of the blue. If that is what happened, there had to have been some kind of signs that are kind of apparent in retrospect.

I doubt if anyone will talk about it to the media. So we will never know if it does turn out to be murder/suicide.

Of course the family does not want to accept that their father is a murderer. Who would

You can be strangling with your legs out straight in front of you?

Oh Geez, there were tons of women crying in that pic/video of their funeral.

From what I've been reading on here, news etc. If it were rage there would be a mess. Ever read about murders that are committed by rage?

Honey has had several surgeries, throat cancer. Seems like an affair for her would not be of great interest.

What does she need a man for at that age?

I have been married 40 plus years and at this age you have your habits and ways of doing things. It would be hard to adjust to another’s habits but people do do it.

She can do what she wants whenever she wants on her own with friends or family. She can go wherever she wants to go.
