Oh he didn't intent to kill but it just happened.

Yes.

He may not have awoken that morning with intentions to kill his wife, but for whatever reason that we do not know, it happened.

So how would the belt be fastened to the railing? Tied? It's not exactly easy to tie a tight knot with leather. As a rider, I have a lot of leather and even a thin leather leadrope is hard to tie to something.

With knot the same as you tie the leather cinch. Almost like tying a tie.

Wondering how it is known how quickly a person passes out and then dies from hanging...

  • #144
I see he's still getting the Order of Canada. A friend or family member will be invited to pick it up at a future time.
IMO, thats not right. They are not given out posthumously, someone linked that upthread in thread 2.

I believe its a matter of seconds. maybe 10-15 secs

I wonder if because he was nominated while still alive that it's not considered posthumous?

IDK.

Amazing. They spent their money on others as some very rich do as opposed to others that spend their gold on themselves. They sound truly amazing

Actually he sounds pretty depressed when he was at that party with Linda Frum.

Later, after a most enjoyable evening of good food and wine—and, since Honey was there, abundant laughter—Barry quietly approached me. Don’t you think it’s unfair, he asked me. I asked him what he meant. Don’t you think it’s unfair that we get to enjoy all this, this beautiful life, while so many others, they don’t?

Re Christie Blatchford - she may well be an award winning journalist, however, she is clearly biased against the family when she dismisses them as being like most families who don't feel inclined to accept negative findings about their loved one. Blatchford hasn't done a study to support her findings about "most families." The FBI agent, Brad Garrett on CTV News is likely a lot better at crime scenarios than Christie Blatchford. He doesn't seem to doubt that it was a double homicide by "professional killers." So to just dismiss the family as idiots is irresponsible and superficial.

It could be a murder suicide, or a double homicide by highly skilled killers made to look like one. Barry had a lot of enemies, justifiably so it seems. On the surface it would look like someone wanted to make an example of Barry Sherman. Killing Honey first would have been a way of torturing Barry.

It's very doubtful that Honey was having an affair. She is seventy. It might have been worthwhile at 60 but at seventy women are more interested in their grandchildren than having a man in bed. At 76, it's doubtful that Barry had other women as an interest. His mistress was APOTEX.

I don't think that Barry's observation as a privileged person saying doesn't it seem unfair that we have so much and others don't etc is a sign of depression, rather the opposite, it sounds to me like an awareness of the world we live in. I think the same and am not depressed.

This is a type of self adjusting belt, no holes.

Who do you think has better sources within Toronto Police - Blatchford or Garrett?

Do you think having access to police sources is in any way an asset when discussing possible scenarios in this case?

Not only that but this guy was a BILLIONAIRE. One of the truly elite of the entire planet.

This was not John and Patsy Ramsey. This guy is like Scrooge McDuck rich!

If he purposefully or accidentally killed his wife he would have access to professional "fixers" to make a problem like that go away.

BBM

And set himself for a lifetime of blackmail?

I thought the same thing.

I think the question was, how do we know how long it takes because dead people can't talk?

Oh Geez, there were tons of women crying in that pic/video of their funeral.

Not the funeral. In one of the first articles it was mentioned that a woman ducked under the tape with flowers in her hand. She spoke to police and the reporter noted her crying. Don't remember which article though. Maybe someone else does.

I don't know the answer, but there was a time when people were hanged for crimes and likely it was noted how long it took.

I think it shows he was a person who thought about how lucky he was and how others are not. Accident of birth. I think of that often.

Anyone could have be born into horrible circumstances. Not their choice.

He gave back. That is a lot more than I see some other rich people do.

From what I've been reading on here, news etc. If it were rage there would be a mess. Ever read about murders that are committed by rage?

BBM

I am not understanding how you would know there was not a messy crime scene if you were not there? To my knowledge there has been no crime scene photos released to the public. There has been no statements describing the crime scene. That whole pool area could have been a bloody mess for all we know. There could have been broken items strung from one end to the other.

There is no way that we could know the crime scene was clean and neat.

So let me get this straight. According to Linda Frum, Barry sits there quietly all evening listening to his wife talking and laughing, then out of the blue comes up to her and asks her if she doesn't think them enjoying this beautiful life is unfair. You don't think that slightly unhinged? Or did he just think Honey enjoying this beautiful life was unfair? And decided to right the scales by making sure she didn't enjoy another moment of that beautiful life she was living so unfairly.

Hmmm

Apologies if this has already been posted. Cousin Kerry Winter says in this article, "I don’t know if it’s so much about getting five, 10 or X amount of millions. To me this is about, and I know it sounds cliché, it’s really about making Barry Sherman accountable.” It must have been quite the blow to have the lawsuit thrown out.
