To "newclues":

Idk about the home inspection on Dec 13th. I assume: If KD didn't mention it within his book, it isn't true. ;)
In addition, it makes no sense to me, when BS would have at the end 2 different reports of a home inspection. One he got at his office, after a finished home inspection. Why another one? But I'm not at all experienced with the regulations of home inspection, so maybe there are reasons.

This passage makes me sad. It’s amazing what people intuit. Plus there was the fact that Honey’s car was there but no sign of Honey or Barry and the beds weren’t slept in. Yikes.

Then there was Honey’s phone on the floor. I guess such is the discreet and unassuming role of the housekeeper that she would not look for them or alert anyone (who would she know to contact?) or even think of calling the police.

For all she knew there could have been a medical emergency the night before, and Honey and Barry had spent the night in the hospital. Even that could leave a heavy feel.

I feel for these people who were there that morning. Plus they lost their jobs.
Every time i read the housekeepers statement in gives me cold shivers. It's like a horror movie. Her alone in the house she thinks...

Ok this has always concerned me. “Macatangay collected the paper…”. IF the Sherman’s were murdered onWed night, what didn’t she collect the papers? There should have been 2 morning papers on the porch- Thursday and Friday. Yet she picked up the paper (singular). Assuming it was Friday’s paper on the porch, where was Thursday’s paper? Was it found in the house, and if so, how could it possibly have gotten there? Has LE even considered this?
I have asked that question a number of times. Apparently even though she said paper there were more than one including the jewish news. They were in plastic bags. It is a language thing.

I find the thought so very scary, that nobody left the large home, without knowing at all, if the killer might still be present somewhere in the building!

This is why I couldn't understand why the realtor didn't shuffle every person outside immediately and called 911 from outside. I work in the service industry and a couple of weeks ago I saw a woman go into my client's house. I texted my client and told her and said I was going to call the police if I didn't hear from her. It turns out it was a house guest she forgot to tell me about but there is no way I was going in with a stranger inside.

I’ve had this same thought- that no one fled the house. I think the main reasons are likely that the realtor had already been all over the home and it seemed no one was there (or wishing to threaten them); sadly, the bodies likely looked long dead (they were described as blueish; the realtor shouted “my clients are dead!”; and they all refused to give CPR— so clearly Barry & Honey looked long deceased); the housekeeper had been in the house even longer- and again presumably all over the house; the murders looked targeted and staged; there was a large group of them at the home; and finally it was a cold December day and no one would intuitively go outside to wait for police unless they felt threatened.

I agree, though, I think I would have left and gone to my car.

Maybe with a big group that changed the dynamic.

Plus Elyse Stern probably felt like she had to step up here and be a leader. These were her super high profile wealthy clients. I think she’d feel a duty to steward and caretake a bit.

If it was a possible buyer, wouldn't they have called the realtor to let them know they might have an interested buyer? Any realtors here to tell us about protocol?
My husband is a realtor, they use an online booking program today, not sure if all realtors used this format before covid. The system is flaky and often the booking request hangs in limbo and agents show up anyway.

Yes, I'm sure. But there's still no reason to release it to the public, since the person seemingly had no evidence to give the investigation.

JMO
I agree with no release to public but do not think they had no evidence or fact/detail to add to the investigation.

I really believe that they could not get their heads around what they had seen or were told was in the basement. When i was told they were found in the basement early on the day they were found i thought they must have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

I think Claire Banks the indoor gardener should get a huge shout out for her bravery.

Right? And the realtor should have gone with her. She knew what she saw but sending someone else down there alone was so wrong. She should have just called the cops and ushered everyone out, there was no need for anyone else to see what they did. That will live with Claire forever.

I find that normal. I have older people that I send pics to or a text to and they don't "sit" on their phones like the younger kids do. Sometimes it will be hours or even a day before I hear from them. They get super busy and forget to text back, or if it's like my mom she only checks her cell phone maybe once a day. So for me, I would say that is normal.

I do this myself sometimes. I will be at work and get a text or a pic sent to me. I will read it or look at it and think I will text them when I get done work. Then I totally forget and it might be a day or two and the person will text me back saying hey, did you get my text?

I agree. Not hearing back from her parents instantly, given how busy both are, wouldn’t lend itself to concluding something catastrophic had happened.

Also, didn’t all or most of the kids call them the next morning? (Friday). I know Lauren and Kaelen called. Did Alexandra too?

What is disheartening about this case is that they knew many people like family, friends, aquaintances, employees, etc. as was evident by the many people who attended their funeral services. However, it has been over 5.5 years and we don't really know if anything anyone has come out and said is really leading in the right direction in solving this case. You would hope that someone out of the thousands that they knew knows something. (Contrast this to the case of Sharin Morningstar Keenan where LE knows the killer as Dennis Melvyn Howe, but has been unable to find and catch him in over 40 years.)

I am pretty sure that LE has pegged the Night Walker as the killer, I am pretty sure as well they have another suspect that they are watching.

The questions that face the TPS.
Who is the Night Walker, is he still alive, where is he, how can we arrest him, and will he talk?

I doubt that many people who attended the funeral services, know who the Night Walker is.

Maybe one or two, possibly.

I didn't put much into that. I run my own business as does my husband. I have 4 children and grandkids. If i didn't hear back from my kids after 24 hours it wouldn't worry me. They have busy lives also.
If my husband didn't respond to a text or phone call even after a couple of hours that would be different. Also these were kids / adults that didn't call often at the best of times. The fact that JS called or emailed, ( can't remember if it was a call or mailer both), on the 14th i find suspicious.
