If the killer was believed to have entered the house from the back through the backyard, were there any footprints ever found in the snow and/or mud there?
I don’t think the police ever considered looking for footprints in the snow.
Sadly, due to the TP thinking it was a murder suicide for six weeks that type of evidence melted away along with the snow.

Can you tell us what the documentary is called ? have looked on the ID channel and can’t find it.

I call it a documentary but it was really just the story of their death and how the authorities have not solved the case yet----

Police tape remained around Honey and Barry Sherman’s mansion on Old Colony Road for weeks after the murders.

BILLIONAIRE MURDERS: EP 8

Perfect storm

Episode eight of the podcast series “The Billionaire Murders: The hunt for the killers of Honey and Barry Sherman” is hosted by Kevin Donovan.

Fri., May 12,
''Honey and Barry Sherman had nothing on their calendar, friends were away and Barry’s life was a who’s who of suspects. He also owed a lot of money. If there ever was a perfect time to commit a horrendous murder and get away with it, this was it.
This is episode eight of “The Billionaire Murders: The hunt for the killers of Honey and Barry Sherman,” a “Suspicion” podcast probing the strange case of the famous Toronto couple who were found strangled in their north Toronto home in 2017. For five years, reporter Kevin Donovan has covered the case for the Star, fought court battles to access documents on the police investigation and the Sherman estate, and wrote a book about it.''
KD says episode 9 is coming up, and it's the final episode. I know with some podcasts, they've said there was a final episode but there were more as new evidence came about.

In this one, the one thing that stood out was that Thursdays were always days when no service people were at the house. Had Honey not given her personal assistant Thursday and Friday off, she would have been the one to find the bodies. She would have seen both cars were there and likely would have gone looking for them. That was either a stroke of luck for the killer(s) or perfectly timed by them.

Also, when JD resigned from Apotex right after the murders, it seemed suspicious or at least eyebrow raising. After listening to the podcast, I totally understand why he left. Barry seemed to be the only one supporting him and with him gone, he had no one left.

Interesting to hear how employees were bawling their eyes out when they found out the news. It sounds like Barry was quite well thought of by employees. JK's grief is evident but hearing that made me really understand that his work life was better than his family life.

On the Benjamins memorial website there are many messages left by people who worked at Apotex. He was clearly admired by the people who worked there. I think it’s still available to view.

I caught this at the 16:30 mark, approximately.

“…his gaze caught some frozen footprints on one side of the heated driveway leading down the ramp to the underground garage..”

(One side of the heated ramp wasn’t working.)

I think he means the footprints led down the ramp towards the garage, but could he just be talking about the ramp leading to the garage?
If there were footprints, wouldn't there have been one side of tire tracks too since this was half of the ramp?

It is interesting and sad that with so many Apotex employees liking BS that no one has yet been able to offer some groundbreaking information that will be able to solve this case. This appears up to some close insider(s) to do.

I know that KD originally wrote in his 2019 book that there were no security cameras at Bayview Village mall, but he found out later through court records it wasn’t the case.

From his 2019 book:

From his 2021 article:

“While Barry stayed at work until about 8:30 p.m., Honey drove to Bayview Village shopping centre. The documents indicate she went to a CIBC branch between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and also to the MAC Cosmetics store inside the mall. It was not until four months after the murders that the police went to Bayview Village looking for security video. Most of the video had been overwritten but they were able to obtain footage of Honey at the CIBC branch. This part of the police documents is heavily redacted, but given that the branch would be long closed by the time Honey arrived it is possible the video police have shows Honey taking out cash from the ATM.”

ETA: I did a search for cctv camera footage of crimes at Bayview Village and found this from January, 2017.

A man followed a victim through Bayview Village Shopping Centre then violently attacked him outside of the mall and stole this wallet.

“Police believe the victim was followed by the suspect through sections of Bayview Village Shopping Centre before he was attacked.”

““Due to the significant violence used, and the predatory nature of the suspect, police are concerned for the safety of the public until this suspect is apprehended,” police said in a news release on Thursday.”
Since several thousand dollars were found in HS wallet, it does not appear that the killer was a robber who was after the kind of money that can be withdrawn from a bank machine but it was maybe more about something that would eventually lead to a lot more money. Most would not leave behind something like $7000 unless this was pocket change to them.

I remember from news coverage very early on that the police were parked and active at the backyard neighbour’s home. The unusual part, imo, is that the police cars guarding the scene were at the Shermans’ home and at that neighbour’s home for 26 days. the six weeks that the TPS held the crime scene. ETA: TPS officers from the 33rd division were there for 26 days, then officers from another department of the TPS took over for the remaining 2+ weeks when police released the scene.

“TORONTO — After 26 days of 24/7 protection, the Sherman mansion is no longer being guarded by Toronto Police officers from 33 Division…

…Instead, as of Wednesday morning, the officers in squad cars stationed at the front of the home, and securing the rear from a driveway of a home on Forest Heights Blvd., are members of TPS’s Public Safety Response Team (PSRT)…

…On Wednesday, a Toronto Police forensics officer with a metal detector was up in the snow-filled front yard of a home on Forest Heights Blvd., which backs the Sherman home.”

KD believes one of the killers accessed the Shermans’ home by cutting across this neighbour’s backyard.

I've been trying to find it but can't.

LE were on the roof looking and checking sewers on the road, plus pictures of detectives with cameras in hand coming through the back gate from what looks like a terrace were part of the early stories.

I am confident they looked. we have not seen any reports of any prints in the back yard or by any doors.

Or you were trying to make it look like a M/S I guess

Perhaps this has been discussed before, but I'm baffled that, in this day and age of plastic, anyone would have that amount of cash on their person in the first place. Can anybody think of possibilities in that regard?

KD said he believed she withdrew the cash to give as Hanukkah or Christmas presents for her staff.

I work in the service industry and most of my Christmas money tips are in cash. She was very generous! She expected people to show up on the Friday and was leaving on the following Monday so she would have started giving cleaners, plant waterers etc. their end of year gift, and also her kids and grandkids.
