Do you know him? Non-verbal child found alone walking on Colerain Township street
“We have identified this child and are continuing to investigate this incident. Thanks to concerned residents who called us quickly last night, he is safe and warm. He will remain safe while we continue the investigation.

He is not the child missing from Canada. We followed up on that lead and have spoken to authorities in Canada.”

Parents of missing 3-year-old boy in N.S. take police to task for how they’ve been treated

It was the first day of a public complaint appeal in relation to the disappearance of Dylan Ehler, the Nova Scotia toddler who went missing in May 2020. As Megan King reports, the Nova Scotia Police Review Board heard testimony from the child’s parents, who say the police response was insufficient.

“Court information shows Ehler is accused of falsifying cheques written from Melanie MacCormick to himself for various amounts ranging from $100 to $800 each. He is accused of cashing in and defrauding the TD Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal in Truro, on occasions from Nov. 15 to 23, 2021.”

I’m interested in more information, if there’s more to this including the relationship between this woman and the dad? The absolute obvious way to get caught defrauding is to falsify cheques payable to yourself as you’re pointing the finger right back at you….or was he set up? JMO

The case was referred to the Restorative Justice Program, so the details of the case won’t be made public.

“The charges were back in court Wednesday, when prosecutor Alison Brown announced Ehler’s matters were being diverted to restorative justice for resolution.

If Ehler accepts responsibility for his actions and completes the terms of the restorative justice process, the charges will be withdrawn.

Ehler is the father of Dylan Ehler, a three-year-old boy who made headlines after he went missing from his grandmother’s yard in Truro in May 2020.”

Last month Nova Scotia’s Police Review Board dismissed complaints made against the Truro Police Service (TPS) by the parents of a three-year-old boy who went missing more than three years ago.

A decision Dylan Ehler’s parents say has been devastating in their search for answers.

“I felt like I was slapped across the face,” says father Jason Ehler in a remote video interview with CTV from New Brunswick, where he now lives.

Ehler and Dylan’s mother, Ashley Brown accused TPS of failing to adequately investigate their son's disappearance.

FWIW— Dylan’s father has posted on social media that German police asked Truro LE for DNA samples from both him and Dylan’s mother. He didn’t say much about it, but he said it’s the second time German authorities have tried to see if they were a match to remains or items found in their country. (This time it doesn’t seem like remains, he doesn’t seem to know what it is).

I think there’s only a very remote possibility that he was abducted, imo. But it good to see how the international LE community are exhausting every avenue in order to identify young UIDs and child victims.

They weren’t his boots, according to the father! They were mis- identified by his wife. This video was made by the father.

When we first received the alert we were told he was wearing bright blue rubber boots. Hours later, they found the boots matching the exact description.

I’d love for him to have his dear son back. I understand he’s doing everything in his power, and I’d never try to stop him. But I think the first description was correct.

I think it would be great if he had more resources made available to him. He has never stopped searching for him.

On May 6, 2020, Dylan Ehler was seen for the last time as he wandered off in Truro, Nova Scotia. Following his disappearance, Dylan’s rubber boots were discovered in a nearby brook by divers. This brook flows into a river that flows with the Bay of Fundy.

Dylan was at his grandmother Dorothy Parsons’ home that day, roughly 100 yards away from the Lepper Brook.

It has been reported that Parsons was out in the yard with Dylan and turned her back to put a dog on a leash and Dylan vanished from sight.

The family has continued to search the waterway ever since, looking for any clues, as there are days the parents admit they question whether Dylan went into the river and that doubt has put a strain on the family and their relationship.

They found his boots by the river in the backyard.

(160 meters = roughly 520 ft. for us americans)

I had long suspected DE had drowned. I wonder if this new information confirms or denies this suspicion. MOO.
