''Provincial police continue to search for a 19-year-old man who went missing from the Blue Mountain Village area on Saturday (July 16).

According to OPP, Elias Ayala was last seen in a wooded area near Arlberg Crescent. He was seen "several times" on Sunday, but remains missing. ''

"This behaviour is unusual for Elias and there is a concern for his safety," stated OPP in a social media post. ''

Collingwood-Blue Mountains OPP are continuing the search along with emergency response team members, the OPP canine unit, and OPP aviation services. Residents in the Tyrolean Village area can expect police presence in the area until Ayala is found.


A description released by OPP state Ayala is a white male from Etobicoke. He is approximately 172 cm tall (five-foot-eight) and weighs about 70 kilograms (154 pounds). He has braided black hair and is possibly wearing a white tank top, black shorts and a black hat.

The search is ongoing at this time and anyone with information on Elias's whereabouts is asked call Collingwood OPP at 1-705-445-4321 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This is very bizarre, him running away from his friends - I hope they locate him quickly.
Blue Mountain has a lot of forested areas, farmland, and small bodies of water - and of course - Georgian Bay...

Elias is still missing.

There has been a severe heat warning for the last couple of days, and Collingwood/Blue Mountain region are currently under a significant severe storm warning with possibility of hail/tornado.

I really hope he is safe and sheltered somewhere.

"The search for a 19-year-old man in The Blue Mountains has ended on its fifth day.

Provincial police say the man was found "healthy and safe" after being reported missing on Saturday in the area of Arlberg Crescent.

The OPP Emergency Response Team, K9 unit and Aviation team assisted with the search for the Etobicoke man, who police said was last seen on Sunday but repeatedly ran back into a wooded area.''


Police have not commented on where the man was found but offered thanks to the public for its help.''

Amazing!! Thank you for sharing. There were tornado warnings heading up in that direction this evening... I'm so glad they found him.
