Found Deceased Canada - Holly Ellsworth-Clark, 27, Hamilton ON, 11 Jan 2020

Has it been stated if Holly was wearing the same clothes as the day she disappeared? Or would clothing wear away in water?

No, nothing has been said. Because of Canada’s privacy laws it will be up to Holly’s family if they choose to release any specific details surrounding her death. The autopsy should be able to determine the cause of death, whether it be drowning or not.

I’m thinking about this quote by Holly’s father from Kelsie’s link up above. While their was strong hope Holly was still alive amidst various unconfirmed sightings, rumours and theories, it must’ve been tremendously painful for her family during these past nine months. They knew her far better than anyone, that she wouldn’t willingly choose to disappear so for them the only alternatives to hold onto was a kidnapping or some sort of perpetual psychosis state. I don’t think either would inspire a great deal of optimist hope yet they didn’t give up. Quite remarkable actually.

“She hasn't been kidnapped so we don't have to worry about that, she's not roaming the streets of North America in a psychotic state, she may never have been psychotic. We don't know though whether she had an accident and drowned, whether she was killed and put in the water, we don't know any of those things really," he said....”

Holly Ellsworth - Clark Obituary - Toronto, ON

If the art of writing can portray the essence of a departed loved one, this piece is right up there amongst Picasso and Da Vinci.

I don't think I've ever read an obituary that provided a timeless portrait of a person as this obituary did. I feel like I knew Holly and wish I had. She sounds like the kind of girl I'd want as a friend. A beautiful piece of writing that goes straight to the heart.

I notice on the Holly Clark Search FB page a Celebration of Life for Holly is scheduled on Sept 26th in Hamilton, limiting max of 100 people. Given the active Hamilton/Toronto and area following in trying to find her, distributing posters and such I’m certain it would’ve been an amazing, heartwarming event.

So I’m very sad to read the size of gatherings in certain areas of Ontario including Hamilton has just been reduced from 100 to only 25 people due to increasing COVID cases.

Social gathering limits reduced in Hamilton and across the province to help stop the spread of COVID-19 | City of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
“Hamilton, ON – Today the provincial government announced that, in a continued effort to manage the spread of COVID-19, the lowering of gathering limits that had been originally announced for Toronto, Peel and Ottawa on Thursday, have now been expanded to the entire province, including Hamilton, under provincial orders effective immediately for at least the next 28 days.

The amended order sets a new limit on the number of people allowed to attend an unmonitored social gathering or organized public event to:

  • 10 people at an indoor event or gathering (previous limit of 50); or
  • 25 people at an outdoor event or gathering (previous limit of 100)

The body of Holly Ellsworth-Clark has undergone a second autopsy and her family may hire a dive team to search Hamilton Harbour as uncertainty about the circumstances of her death continues to disrupt their ability to grieve.

Her family brought on Dr. Michael Pollanen, Ontario's chief forensic pathologist, to take a second look. The autopsy results will come in five weeks.

"It's a distraction and I'm upset to have gone down a rabbit hole with my own thoughts," Dave Clark, Holly's father, said on Wednesday night after flying from the family's hometown of Calgary to Hamilton.

''Elle McFearsin, Holly's former boss who led community search efforts, said almost all of Holly's case file is currently listed as "undetermined."

Clark said that while Baird told him there were no signs of visible trauma to Holly, her lower legs were missing. Baird suggested it could be the result of a boat making contact with her legs, but Clark said she could not definitively explain why they were missing.

"I didn't want to be cremating Holly without having those questions answered more precisely," Clark said.

That's when Clark and his family searched for someone to take a second look. Pollanen offered to work for free.''

I've been following this case and I thank everyone for the updates. Just something that jumped out at me and forgive me if I missed it... I don't see any mention of reviewing security camera's at the Pier. Any idea?? I would think a Pier would have them?

One would think but usually security tapes overwrite on a schedule. It could be that it isn't even accessible now.

I just saw her father on the evening news. He said she had been in the water long enough that dental records were required for identification and he mentioned her legs being missing. *heartbreaking*

Father of the late Holly Ellsworth Clark returns to Hamilton, awaits second autopsy

Dave Clark believes there are “a bunch of mysterious things” tied to the death of his daughter, Holly Ellsworth-Clark.

“The two autopsies are completed and the results of the second will be back in five or six weeks,” Clark told Global News.

Clark wanted a second look due to “vague answers” about the body’s lower legs which were missing, according to the first report.

“There was some suggestion made to me that it could have been made by a boat strike, but that’s something that evidence should be able to determine instead of just a kind of vague guess, which was all of the information that I was getting,” Clark said.''

''Friends, family and search volunteers are expected to make brief visits to Woodland Park from 2p.m. until 7p.m. on Saturday to pay respects to Ellsworth-Clark.

The event is expected to be live-streamed at the event page.''

This makes me think that natural disarticulation at the knee etc was ruled out and there is some distress to the bones? That is concerning.

I am very sad for this outcome and hope her loved ones get the answers they need.

I am just re-looking at this sad case after a long time. I had always been sure it was a mental health issue, probably bipolar emerging having been misdiagnosed initially as anxiety. However, having found out about the security cameras in her home I am not sure anymore. I find it chilling, both that there were cameras at all and that nobody is acting like it's a problem. And the fact that the landlord didn't hand footage over right away? This is a big red flag for me. I don't know about Canada, I admit, but I am willing to bet that in my country putting cameras, and so many that they require their own 'control room', in a rented property is illegal. We let out several houses and would never consider it. Sorry if I am missing a cultural nuance here but to me it seems legitimately psychopathic. And then it transpires Holly was trying to destroy them? That really freaks me out. How has the landlord not been investigated?!

Welcome to Ws EmMaBu, you raise some great points about the cameras!
Not a common or acceptable practice, maybe they were set up to record music sessions? imo.
