People are bending over backwards trying to say this isn’t unsual

In my opinion

Agree and said before...

Most of these things can have reasonable excuses.

You might have a lazy morning in bed.

You might have a 4 years-old that still needs a pull-up or that likes to run out the door with no clothes on.

Your kids that don't normally go in the yard alone might decide to sneak out the door.

And so on, because there plenty more.

But when you stack them all up it's not looking good, imo.

Yes, “plenty more” is actually a significant understatement. In my opinion.

However I’m confident that the RCMP is way ahead of it all.

For the investigations sake there’s nothing better than the two being apart.

Also once the initial chaos of calling police I personally would check to see if any particular coats etc were missing and an updated notice could go out. They noticed the boots and backpack were gone.
I’ve repeatedly read about the boots by the door. But the backpack is news to me.

It’s such an odd thing for a six year-old to grab to take out to the yard to play. I wonder if anyone bothered to check if she forgot her backpack on the bus ride home from school on Tuesday? Because it’s a given the kids would put their boots on to go outside and play. But attributing the “missing” backpack to what Lilly would be wearing is really odd, imo, because neither mom nor stepdad report seeing the kids leave the trailer/property.

“...Martell said Jack was wearing a pull-up diaper and Lilly was wearing a white backpack with red strawberries on it that should be highly visible. ..."

I've seen kids that absolutely have to have a particular backpack, pair of shoes, toy, etc.

But you're right, it's another one of those odd things to add to the list. It seems it would be uncomfortable to play in, unless the left the backdoor intending to go on a "hike".

Stepdad also mentioned that the backpack would probably be brown by now, which i found weird, jmo.

I'd imagine the teachers and bus driver have been interviewed already.

All good points ! ^^^

I'm guessing not a change in the color of the backpack, but that it would be weathered/stained with dirt/mud ?

Also doesn't make sense, because imo only an adult would be wearing such an item so long that it would be dusty or brown from scrambling through brush and maybe slipping down hills.
A little girl would probably discard the backpack fairly soon , as it would feel 'heavy' for a little one ?

This makes me uneasy because it feels like 'too much information'.

I just jumped on yesterday. I’ve been reading a lot, but as I mentioned, above, this is the first I’ve come across the backpack, so “old” news. Still odd imo.
It’s not a crazy thing to bring up. I’ve heard about the backpack etc but yet to see an interview where he explains how he knows she has it. I may have missed it but I think everyone was just assuming he saw it was gone.

Yes, that it would be dirtied to the point it would not longer be bright white.

And it makes me uneasy, too. There'd be no way for him to know if she got dirty if he didn't know where they went.

Could be discarded, like you said. Could be slightly dirty, but mostly still bright. Unfortunately kids often fall in water in which case the bag wouldn't be dirty at all.

:) I was thinking “expedition” a la Tigger, haha..

It was Friday. How much did Lilly like school? She appeared awfully proud in her Primary graduation photo. :) Maybe she decided to walk to the bus stop and wait for her bus? (But it was well past when the bus would have picked her up.) Seriously.

Hi AIGT,
Welcome to Websleuths.
I understand what you are asking, but if we made the posts public that we removed because they were against our terms of service, then the whole topic of this discussion would be thrown off. The topic is the missing Sullivan children.

I have wondered if she wanted to go to school and tried to get there herself, but what about Jack? Would she take him with? Wouldn't they both know you need clothes on to go to school? And would they leave out the sliding door to the fenced area to get to school?

The parents seemed certain they went out the sliding door and into the woods initially, then stepdad said he thought they'd been abducted.

And in an interview he actually stated that she would’ve dropped in by now. I think it was the same one where he said Jack would’ve taken off the pull up. My original expectation was that police were going to stumble upon those items and then find out they were planted…. I seem to have been wrong about that though

Agreed, hopefully they've perused all footage.
Everything -- people, cars, etc.
Imo.

Has there been any info out that the couple own dogs? I'm wondering if they do own dogs, where are they? I'm thinking the dogs would have followed the children.
I've heard nothing about missing dogs. I'd think they would have reported that in the beginning if they had family dogs to watch for as well.

I did post earlier that it looked like the perfect place to have dogs and I was surprised there was no mention of any

If dogs accompanied the children, wouldn’t that be critical information that would’ve been included in the missing person’s report? See page 1 of this thread, dogs are not mentioned.
