I'd take anything Bryer's father says as a lie, clearly it was a troubled home and the guy does seem to like media attention.
I doubt he knows and understands his son.

I wonder too. Watching him speak on the video in the same link as the quotes, he’s obviously on some kind of emotional roller coaster, as would be expected, but there looks to be something more to his general demeanour beyond that. I also don’t quite understand why he’s speaking from the ground, camera focused downward onto him. Did he drop to his knees while being interviewed?

' is not a quotation mark.

You have to click the link and read it in the article.

Here is what appears in the article, precisely are it appears: (bolding by me)

“He wants his hurt to end. They're going to go out in a blaze of glory. Trust me on this. That's what they're going to do.”

Maybe. But the media has specifically used quotes attributed by his father as fearing he plans to go out in "a blaze of glory."
Canada murders: Father of suspect in three killings in Canada says son plans to go out 'in blaze of glory' - CNN

That may not have aired in an actual video but I';m going with that it's accurate, for now.

Personally the problem is media creates an inflammatory headline, because let’s face it sensationalized
sells better than real life, and that’s what people form opinions on.

Somehow I cannot see these two "brandishing a gun" and giving a construction worker the finger.

I can't see the construction worker so upset he is crying over this...

If it is them they are really really dumb, they won't last long in Ontario as free men.

The confusion is he didn’t say that in his video. So how can they have quoted him on saying it?

Agreed.^^^
That was strange !

And his 'grimacing' and crying.
Also his blaming LE if the two killers are shot by LE.
If they (murderers) want a shootout and engage LE --what are they supposed to do ?
Try to talk to them ?

Please watch the 5th video down.

Who are Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky? What we know about the suspects in northern B.C. deaths

If they have this much of an interview with him they MUST have footage of him Actually saying the words 'blaze of glory' IF he had in fact said it.
So why leave it out of the video?

' is not a quotation mark.

ETA: I would think that if he had actually said it they would include it in their video so they Could actually use it as a quote.

Actually it is a quotation mark. It is printed that way in the headline because it is a quote attributed to a source in the article, which you will see if you read the article. His dad is quoted saying it in the article itself.

I don't mean to make light of this but...

From the quotation that Katie Nicholson from CBC The National attributes to a friend of the construction worker, that might leave me crying too...:

"Cindy McKay learned of the incident when she visited the construction site to bring her roommate his lunch. "I mean he was crying and was pretty shaken up. I mean if someone shows you a gun and fingers you... and he's pretty sure that they're the BC suspects."

True story. Key fell off the ring in my vehicle as I was closing the door. Asked some people for help. They got my vehicle open quickly, shook hands and told me their names. A few weeks later, they were named in the newspaper, charged as part of a car theft ring.
Haha Gina. We live parallel lives. Once when out with friends, a truck stopped at an intersection and asked directions. Suddenly police swarmed around us, guns drawn. I almost fainted. The young men had just robbed a convenience store and were asking directions on the fastest way to get on the expressway to Maine. Idiots.

I do think that Bryer and Kam are in another vehicle. Just speculating. But wondering if they have a hostage so they can duck for cover or feel better seen as a threesome. I know it sounds crazy. My brain won't stop and I'm sleep deprived. I want them caught for many reasons, but also selfishly so I can get some sleep.

Hmmm, well I guess there’s work to be done regardless if two dangerous fugitives were believed to be in the immediate area.

Villeneuve, the construction company where the man works, says work has now resumed at the site and is referring all questions on this matter to OPP. The spokeswoman for Villeneuve says all workers are safe.

this is my hunch as well. still, glad OPP is investigating, and good that it was reported regardless of KM and BS because obviously it's a concern to have two young men going around taunting people with a weapon. that's terrifying for that poor worker.

This recent sighting did say the driver looked like Kam and the previous sighting also said Kam was the driver. Could be true, I mean they could really be anywhere.

  • #597
How seriously can we take the opinion of a man with mental health issues who had limited contact with his son throughout his son's life?

  • #598

My issue is that it would be incredibly brazen and outright reckless for them to do something like that.

They’re triple murderers on the run, and behavior like that doesn’t serve any purpose.

Except to tell law enforcement where they are.

Maybe he was crying as in happy he's lived to tell the story after seeing these 2 fugitives. Glad he lived :). I think I may be crying and pretty shook up if I'd had come across them. JMO
