Are they? Maybe crime scene management is done differently in Australia? It would be unusual in Australia for a crime scene with a vehicle apparently directly linked to a murder to be left unsecured and to have items left at the scene after removal/cleanup. Often an item initially seen as insignificant can later become highly significant in cases.

They can't prove he doesn't exist. People on here are speculating that maybe he doesn't, but no one knows. It's equally possible he does.

The question is, does it matter? Police have said forcefully they're not looking for any other suspects, they have all the evidence they need to prove these two did it, so why should they spend extended man-hours searching for someone who will tell them nothing of value? It's not at all easy to find someone based on a sketch and a vehicle description.

And even if police did find this person and rule them out, critics would still call them incompetent, etc. Some people don't trust the police and will never trust police. There'll always be some other little detail to focus on.

I don’t have first hand information to say who is right and who is wrong but history proves we shouldn’t always believe only what the government spokesperson tells us to believe.

RCMP found the bodies 1km from "personal items." They never mentioned a sleeping bag in any of their press releases.

Google retrieved the report of the sleeping bag, status unconfirmed. IIRC “she” refers to the Manitoba RCMP’s communication officer.

I realize that you know the difference what I am saying is that many (include online vendors and gun show sales people and people who are into gaming and many people whose English and understanding of BB guns is limited) do not use the word the same way.

I am not trying to get at the proper definition of an airsoft (ASG AirSoftGuns is in fact a brand as well, as are other brands that include the word but are BB guns and pellet guns). I'm interested in what Bryer actually carried (which shows no orange tip in the picture of it and as I keep saying, his father doesn't seem to exactly be an expert on anything).

As you can see from that picture "Airsoft BB" is a thing. You can search for it and find many stores selling what they are calling "Airsoft BB's" precisely because the word Airsoft (like the word Kleenex) has come to mean "any air powered gun" to many people. I do not have a way of looking into Bryer's dad's head to know what he meant, I just know that in the uncensored (posted elsewhere on the internet) photo of Lucas's body, there's a very small hole, just as Mr Pierre said.

I am not saying that the air gun (whatever type it was) dealt a fatal blow (but it could, if it shot BB's). We may never know the cause of death but we do know that Bryer had some type of air gun (and it could very well have been a BB gun). We may find out about that if RCMP decides to charge the father for supplying his son with that weapon.

Note that in the taxonomy provided by the above store, "Airsoft" is listed under Pellet/BB guns. I just don't think the intended distinction is all that meaningful anymore. People still say they went to a "film" when everything is digital. Etc.

I do think Bryer's dad is not the person to test on the finer points of this terminology.

The keys were photographed by an AUS outlet and included in a post on the 22nd, that was one of the first pics I saw. Are you @aphoto, saying that no one picked them up till today?

I don’t know if they were only picked up today but I know they were still there 4 days ago. I understand they are now in the polices hands but I don’t know if that happened today or in the last couple of days. Let’s be clear I am not certain they are in police hands. I’m working on getting another source to confirm it without an ounce of doubt.

I wish I did know the taping date, because I thought the same. I don't know however. But, if you look up the preview for the episode, AS is heard saying he has just lost his son, and knows how it feels to lose someone. So it seems as though it was filmed very recently, after Alan somehow knew his son was deceased.

ETA: Which would also be strange because I believe it still hasn't been officially confirmed that the 2 bodies found were those of Kam and Bryer's, but Alan would likely have information that hasn't been made officially public.

Apparently the Australian press had a reporter stalking him for the last 2 weeks, and that reporter was with him when he was told his son had died. The Australians seem to think his raw reaction is fair game for TV, but it is pure exploitation.

Whatever the case RCMP I would hope would want to know who the man is before discarding the hwy worker seeing him there. I can see no benefit to her to make up that she seen him. I don't feel I have to know, I do feel RCMP needs to know.

i would be curious to know if any of the reporters who went to the unsecured site of the rav4 crash and photographed it actually called the RCMP and asked why the site was unsecured and why there was debris strewn everywhere, “did you know these keys were here ?” or is it just relaying assumptions.

Very early on, there was a MSM article that said there was a blue mini van left at the scene, it was very strange, and it was never mentioned again. I will try to locate the article but it may take some time.

Until the Police indicate how they got this mystery evidence and if it really exists, people will question this. What evidence and from where? I feel that a lot of speculation and assumption has slowly turned into a falsely accepted "reality". Even if LE believe they have evidence, as other people have said, it doesn't necessarily prove they were the murderers, as they could have been at the van before or after the murders, and not hurt anyone. They could have touched the van at a servo days before, if, as LE believe, they travelled that way. If they did, why no video shown/found from that way at all, or, as I still feel, they were never there at all. This isn't about trusting police at all, it is about wanting to know the truth, I believe.

Completely different? The RCMP is a federal police force paid for with taxpayer money and overseen by the government. It is overseen by an elected government official, the minister of public safety. It isn’t THE government but it’s not that far removed.

I found this link via 60 Minutes Australia Twitter. It appears interview was done this week in Surrey, B.C. -- at least the portion discussed in this link.

Reporter states AS seems accepting BS is deceased, but questioning all the facts, and defending his son until proven otherwise - 'I won't say my son's a murderer'. AS seems to think the teens would have come home and told family what happened.
