Is the main thing/only that's tying them to Dyck's murder the fact that they were driving Dyck's car? What else is absolutely, 100% known to us as fact that ties them to Dyck murder? The Fowler/Deese murders?

I posted a link yesterday, supposedly there is significant evidence in the murders. Maybe an object/other weapon. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point.

On the subject of prison, I'm thinking that the trollish things BS did to his peers and fellow gamers to get a rise out of them and mess with their heads are the type of thing that would get him beaten senseless on the first day of prison. I agree he probably would not have handled the experience well at all.

The heavily rutted lane they got stuck in was reportedly close to a seniors home and single family residences. The stuck vehicle likely created a lot of attention midday by the time the Good Samaritan came along as it’s motor revved, wheels spinning, mud flying. Committing murder in view of potential witnesses would surely have resulted in an almost immediate arrest but otherwise I agree, the guy was lucky to drive away alive.

I did not know this info either! So they were out there around so many people, probably just wanting to get out of there. Either they were playing it cool or scared to get caught!

I wonder if they drove right to the end of PR290 before turning back to the location where the RAV4 was burned. That’s quite the sight, the end of the road. It’s about five hours beyond the closest intersection had they chosen to backtrack.

It seems that there was a reason why, after their car went into the ditch, and with no other choice, they still insisted on continuing east, on foot, and whatever destination they had, they thought they'd make it there on foot. I'm thinking it was the Keewatinohk Converter Station Camp, which still has buildings. Had they not ditched the RAV4 (and had enough gas), they would have made it driving.

If they wanted to end it, they could've done it earlier, instead of enduring 8 km of buggy, bushy, boggy hell.

It’s not far enough north to not get darkness in the summer but there’s far more hours of daylight than nighttime.

Watson Lake, Yukon is a bit further north but on July 14th twilight end/started - midnight to 3am was darkness.
Sunrise and sunset times in Watson Lake, YT - July 2019
Those hours are unlikely to have been what most of us would think of as your standard darkness though. In the summer at high latitudes the sun never gets that far below the horizon, so a kind of deep extended twilight happens rather than full on darkness. At the most extreme northern points of course the sun never sets at all in high summer - it just travels near the horizon over the full 360 degrees over the 24 hours.

I remember talking to a guy from India on a another forum and he was completely mind blown that in latitudes more distant from the equator there were long days/long nights that waxed and waned over the course of a year. It had simply never occurred to him that life anywhere was anything other than roughly 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark, day in and day out. It was pretty neat. :)

Yes, I joined about a year ago and have had to take long periodic breaks. I think this case has kept me here the longest, actually.

I started WS and was sucked in after the Liknes/O'Brien murders (which basically traumatized me for life after following the trial) so had to stop for a long time more or less. That was a doozy, still is for me. Then the odd case comes up and back at it lol... I live on the island so kinda close to Port Alberni so was shocked that island boys went and did this!

Here is where the RAV4 was stuck. Doesn’t really look like anything is around. Photo from a previous WS thread, just looking for link but getting confused by so many pages lol.

He doesn't strike me as tough, I think in prison he'd be someones ummmm... toy so to speak.

The road runs down the centre of the map. The hospital and senior's home is to the left. The neighbourhood where the helper came from is on the right.

So the guys could've easily killed that guy since a witness. Curious why it all stopped I guess, assuming they had the means/weapon. I'd like to think they might've had a conscience buried in them and didn't like how they felt after the killings but maybe I'm an idealist...

Keeping in mind, of course, that there are still many, many areas of uncertainty and no proof whatsoever, up until now, at least, that those two teenagers murdered anybody. Nevertheless, just in case they were guilty, they were chased to their deaths in the wilderness. A form of justice that feels way too Neanderthal for my liking taking the total to five completely tragic, unnecessary and brutal losses of precious lives. MOO.

True, and sounds like they had absolutely no idea what lie ahead of them in terms of environment.

So they were literally off road it looks like. Not making the best decisions it seems...

On the prairies, it's very common to have "back alley" roads (That's not what they call them, but I can't remember the term). They're usually dirt and run along the back of houses for garbage pickup, access to a rear garage. You'll even see rear driveways and even a paved subdivision road that hooks up to it on the map I just posted.

I have a feeling the proof will be more messed up than we think when the evidence comes out, always is in these stories it seems. Always more sad after hearing evidence I find. And yes, assuming the guys are guilty.

I do feel for the families of KM and BS. No one expects or wants their little babies to grow up and their lives unfold like this. Nobody wins.

The Watts case is what pulled me in! Then poor Jayme Closs and then Kenzie Lueck.

I think the difference between all those cases and this one is I knew from the moment Chris Watts opened his mouth that he had murdered his family, and with the others, the perps were not known until they arrested, so it was just kind of like, "Oh okay, LE caught them." But as I said earlier today, I thought BS and KM were innocent victims right up until I realized LE were announcing an update in their case at the same time as with the LF/CD murders. I felt like I'd been punched in the face!

I just can't think of any case I've ever followed in real-time that had the twists and turns that this one has.

I saw an interview with CD’s mom, who said something like that video is a gift to her... the happiness was so evident :)

She said she stayed up all night watching it over and over and over again. It's beyond sad.

Yes I totally remember this growing up in the prairies and we called them alleyways. I actually got bitten by an animal in an alleyway as a child, it was quite the drama in the neighborhood!

The photo to me looks more like a muddy grassy field. I'll have to go look again, as I think I didn't see it as that! Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't it see it that way at all lol

I haven't heard of those cases, I'll have to google them. Too many sad stories out there, it's nuts. This case has indeed captured mega attention, it's definitely been dynamic.

Thank you very much for this. I tried to find this location a while back, and could not.

It makes me wonder what on earth they were doing there? The only thing I can think of is looking at the back of the houses, maybe seeking an unoccupied one (or worse) or a car to steal.
