These two guys are really not very smart. If they had not burned their on truck in B.C. but only hid it would have been days more till it was found, if at all, and days more till the RCMP named them suspects, if at all. If they had not burned the RAV4 very possible no one would know they might be near Gillam.
Maybe it is all about the thrill for them. Makes me think they are less likely trying to escape, and more likely playing an evade-the-police game ending badly.

I think they are just dumb without a plan and now they are in the bush hiding from police and bears.

So the burnt RAV4 near Gillam has now been confirmed by RCMP to be connected to the teens.

It just seems to me that them setting the RAV4 on fire proves they are not very bright. It's inexplicable. Why would you announce your position like that? Did they think they were covering their tracks?

I may be proven wrong later, but this whole thing has seemed to me to be one hair-brained panic after the couple was murdered.

I really think it's both boys we see at different times in the gas station surveillance videos. They either saw the couple there and profiled them and premeditated their actions not knowing the van would break down, or they happened to come upon the couple broken down and decided to start their spree then. There's only so many roads up there, a chance re-encounter wouldn't be impossible.

From there everything else has come across as two panicked inexperienced criminals going "oh 🤬🤬🤬🤬, oh 🤬🤬🤬🤬, oh 🤬🤬🤬🤬," as they drive as far and as fast as possible with no real end plan.

Of course, I've been wrong before.

I concur.

If they had just kept driving farther east, they could have come very close to Ontario and slipped into public transportation and not be detected for weeks or months

STOP with the off topic posts. PLEASE !! They are making our job very, very difficult in cleaning up what is already an exceptionally busy thread.

Off topic posts are a violation of TOS ... just one OT post can result in 15 to 20 responses that have to be removed. We don't have unlimited staff or time or energy.

Just to confirm where the RCMP investigation is at the moment: Gilliam, Manitoba?
Google Maps

No confirmation that the perps got on a ferry to leave the province of Manitoba?

Or no confirmation that perps are in Ontario?

Theres no ferry out of the province from Gillam. There is a ferry out of nearby Split Lake that goes to York Landing, where there was twitter talk of a sighting, but that not confirmed or reported anywhere other than twitter so I think its OT for now

They took a ferry to leave Vancouver Island. The CTV map indicates the south route, over to the Vancouver area of mainland B.C.

ETA: They could have been taking the same route to northern B.C. that Chynna and Lucas took. Im going to review the Fort Nelson gas station footage.

I kind of think they intended to head south but took a wrong turn, I'm guessing at The Pas, and didn't realize it for hours. I feel like they were initially heading for Winnipeg.

What the "plan" from there would have been is anybody's guess--could be to head east, double back west, or go for the border. But either way if they got out of the Gillam area I'm guessing their first move would be to head once again towards Winnipeg.

Yorkton RCMP confirm B.C. murder suspects not seen

CKOM News
July 24, 2019 12:00 pm

... RCMP members with the Yorkton, Sask. detachment are now saying they pulled over a suspected vehicle, but it wasn’t occupied by the wanted men connected to the B.C. deaths.

I am sure whomever they pulled over probably needed to go change their pants because I can bet it wasn't just a "routine" traffic stop!

Yep!

Not even taking into consideration time to properly extract the bullets, which is usually done after taking the body to secure location. Then also the search for casings on the ground.

Then they have to find as many bullets as they can, depending on the caliber and brand they could be pretty mashed up or fragmented.

The best chance they have to do it quickly is to find casings at both murder sites, if they do then they should be able to do a preliminary with a field microscope.

Yes; all they would need for matching would be expelled casings. We are also talking about how they linked the two BC cases together, not Gillam, MB.

Air flight from BC to Whitehorse, Edmonton or Vancouver where facilities are available would be most direct. RCMP have small Cessna planes, helicopter and float plane assets. They don't necessarily require a municipal airport.

No need to wait for autopsies and bullets from bodies as positive matching of striations on the mere casings collected would do the trick.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Ontario is our country's most densely populated province. With more LE, closer together and more resources, both money and numbers, I'm not sure it would benefit them at all to head to Ontario.

Am I reading that correctly? They went from Manitoba to Northern Saskatchewan and then turned around and went back to Manitoba in the course of a day or two?

That’s a weird route, if this is accurate. Not to mention the fact that it would be an incredible distance.

We’ll need someone to chime in as to if this map is correct.

Bizarre.

No sightings or confirmation they made it to Ontario. The ongoing investigation seems to be ramping up in Gillam.
